but in league lore one of the major contributors to zaun grey is the manufacturing of hex gems specifically. it's not clear if house ferros is involved in this in arcane - the show kind of makes it seem like the hex gems aren't yet being manufactured/processed into like shelf-stable items yet, they just exist as prototypes in jayce and viktor's lab and the raw materials for the gems (ie the original crystals) come from the brackern in shurima.

this isn't really going anywhere except to say that i think that if the hex gems ever reach mass-scale production in the arcane universe, the impact that it would have on zaun is actually probably more dramatic and far-reaching than the manufacturing of hextech weapons and i think that's actually sadder and more fucked up that viktor participated in that than it is sad that his work would eventually be co-opted for weaponry
