Lewin wanted to meet Kuraokami, now he had his chance. The ancient god didn’t bother to hide his long white dragon tail since he also had a pair of silver horns on his head. The exorcists around here knew he was around anyway right? At least he was adapting to more ‘modern wear’ instead of strutting around in elegant robes. “Ah so you are the odd Exorcist with an interest in demons? Holding actual conversations? My offspring said to ‘look out’ and so I sought you out!” That wasn’t what she meant..

How delightful! It was rare that Lewin was sought out by the demons themselves, so he was happily surprised. "Kuraokami?" he grinned in greeting, practically beaming and alert with curiosity. Under his hair and hat, he was studying the form the demon had taken, making note of how he proudly presented features of his original form. How interesting.

"Nix mentioned you might be around the Academy, pleased to meet ya. I do have some questions if you won't mind me asking," he asked casually with a grin on his face.

This one also seemed to respond to emotions with his tail, how fun! It was rare to see a demon in human form showing it off. "You're Kin of Egyn, right? A water demon? In myth you are considered a deity so I'm assuming you have a semi-positive relationship with humankind, but why did you choose to reproduce?" Perhaps it had something to do with the joyous ego Lewin was getting the sense of. There was so much to ask, so many things he wanted to know. Could he befriend this one? A contract with a powerful water demon would be amazing. "Why did you decide to casually mingle with exorcists? What about the human you're possessing? What do you like to eat?"

"It is I! Kuraokami~." The dragon stated proudly, his tail waving some. It was much longer than Nix's and so he had to be more mindful of it. So this excited human wished to ask him questions? This was new for him and so didn't mind whatever Lewin wanted to inquire. "I do not mind in the least! Humans have always been the curious sort. And did she? Leave it to my dear offspring to spread the word about my wonderous self being here!" Wondrously robbing fishing boats perhaps.. But that was besides the point.

While Kuraokami sat, Lewin kept standing, listening to the story of the demon. Honestly, he could kind of understand the reasoning for having offspring. Curiosity was a big drive for his own life, though he couldn't say it had extended to even the idea of kids. He made a mental note of the mochi though, he'd have to get the demon some.

"Hmm." Another exorcist might have raised concerns about the human host, but Lightning took it at face value. "I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. Demons are a curious sort," he grinned. It was actually quite a good sign that this one was chill (ba-da-tch), because it meant he could be useful in the future.

"You're a Shinto deity, yeah? Usually deities stick around specific regions or around the temples of their worship. You don't, though. Did they stop worshipping you?" It sounded like someone had worshipped him considering a woman was 'presented to him'.

This young man did have a lot of questions! Such curiosity was refreshing to see, especially when some exorcists adopt the 'attack first and ask questions later' type. Though he did ask some hard hitting questions.. Not that Kuraokami was reluctant to answer any of them! What did he have to hide? Not very much, actually. He could be an open book at times, much to Nix's dismay.

"I am a water demon, that is correct. I do have a somewhat positive relationship with humans. I always found them fascinating! Always so creative with their solutions to problems and so on.. And always had the best food offerings for me. Speaking of, I'm very fond of sea food but also enjoy mochi!" Who didn't enjoy those delicious little rice cakes? At least he thought that's what he thought it was made of.. Though Lewin really was curious as to why the dragon decided to reproduce huh?

Kuraokami sat down on a nearby bench and smiled softly at the exorcist. "For generations I watched humans and how they went about their lives. One thing that started to stand out was seeing how they were around children. I wondered why they were so protective of such little beings. Why did some have so many and yet not seem as joyful about it? So I decided I needed to have one of my own to see what made them so special.. Though I did need to find the perfect mate to do so with and that took a long time." He was incredibly picky about what woman would catch his eye and he needed a proper host first anyway. "So I first had to acquire a host and thankfully the one you see before you was more than willing to give up his form for me to reside in. I haven't heard him speak to me in sometime but I'm sure he's alright." Perhaps sleeping for twenty-five years left that human soul still asleep even now.

"Anyway.. Once a suitable woman was presented to me, all I had to do was wait afterwards." Kuraokami casually waved off the process in which it took to create life. But a fond smile came to his lips as he continued to talk. "When my daughter was born, it all became clear to me as I held her. I had a precious life that was connected to me. My own kin.. I didn't realize I was missing that sort of connection in my life until I saw her for myself. That is why I am here among the exorcists though, because my daughter is here and I wish to reconnect with her! To fix the bonds that were severed when I rested for too long.."

"Host? It's... It shouldn't. You've never done contract before?"

"Huh? Why? I am quite happy with my current host.. Would a contract force me out of it?"

Ooh yeah, that would explain why he wasn't rooted to a location or a place of worship. Seemed his worshippers had misunderstood his intentions, or he hadn't known theirs. Now Lewin did sit down on the bench next to Kuraokami, not bothered by the story he was being told.

"Ah, yeah that sucks," he said cheerfully as ever. "Wouldn't have worked anyhow!" If that had been a possibility, it would have been a far more well known fact. "I'm surprised that didn't deter you from humanity, considering. Most creatures would probably have carried that resentment with them."

The joy Kuraokami had a moment ago did wain some when Lewin asked about his followers. There was a reason why he was in True Cross City now and not back in territory. If he told the truth, there was a chance he could be labeled as dangerous and be exorcised. Though the one before him could possibly understand the reason behind such actions. He wasn't one to lie anyway..

"I did stay in my region for a long time.. But when I awoke from being at rest for twenty-five years, I discovered what my followers had planned behind my back." The dragon's tail flickered angrily behind him as he continued, trying to keep himself calm. "They had planned to kill my daughter and drink her blood to gain abilities similar to my own. I could not forgive such plans.. So my last remaining temple is encased in ice, all living there frozen in place. They will remain as such.."

"Oh, fun! Well it's a contract between an exorcist and a demon so they can work together."

"I never have before. No one has ever been brave enough to ask that of me before."

"It's rare to see a higher level demon seeking out the company of mankind like him! Sir Pheles is another example, though I have my doubts that they can get along.

I want to make a contract with him."

Lewin wondered if he should ask about those followers and where his temple had been but decided it wasn't important. "An admirable trait to see in a demon!" he grinned. "And you're right, humans can be both good and bad, just like demons." As he was sitting here chatting with one. "You ever think of becoming part of True Cross?"

"Exactly and to think they would've killed my offspring for something so foolish." The audacity his prior followers had was too much to overlook and so they all had to be punished. Any who thought they could harm his daughter would be faced with the full wrath of a dragon. "And that is the good thing about being long lived like myself. I've seen plenty of good and bad humans.. So just because my followers were some of the bad ones, it doesn't mean I resent all of humanity."

"I do desire that. But honestly, I'm not sure what I can give you. Most demons want one of three things; food, friendship or access to Assiah. But it seems ya already got those. I don't treat my familiars as servants so tell me, what would you want?"

"So.. Is it your desire to make a contract with me? You will have to tell me what I would get out of such an arrangement. I won't tolerate one if you will start treating me like a servant.."

Lightning blinked, surprised. Wait, that was it? All this demon wanted was for a bad deal with Angel to be lifted? He felt excitement thrumming through him. That was possible! Not only that, that would be easy!

He could spend a few weeks bothering Angel about it and the man would eventually cave. And Lewin would have a powerful new friend.

"You've got it," he grinned.

Lewin was indeed correct. Kuraokami already had a suitable vessel, plenty of food, and was making friends. Though when asked what he would want. There was one thing that came to mind. A worry that has lingered for a while now. Perhaps this exorcist was the one to resolve it. ".. You work with the current Paladin, do you not? Arthur, the loud one." The demon looked away from Lewin, out at the scenery before him. He knew the two worked together because Nix shared as such. "He and my daughter made a deal when Rin lost control of himself.. Long story short, she agreed to let this Arthur put an execution order upon her in exchange for leniency. If she should lose control, he gets to carry out the execution.. Get that order lifted and you shall have my contract."

"Do you know those little grey demons that sometimes fly around? Asking questions? Turns out they're quite powerful and made me a dragon for a bit. And I want to try flying!" He was still quite excited.

Kuraokami knew that voice but the person it belonged to looked entirely different! "Lewin, is that you? Who turned you into a dragon!? And.. you wish to fly? I could teach you but how did this happen?"

Indeed they were, scaringly so. "Oh," Lewin said, realizing he didn't actually know Kuraokami's demonic form. And of course most asian dragons did not have wings. Hm, he'd have to ask to see that form some day!

He craned his head back a little to look at his own bright wings. With a bit of concentration he managed to extend them, but... "How do I flap them?" he asked.

"They must be rather powerful then!" So this was the work of the strange grey demons he heard about. How amusing! "I would teach you how I fly but.. you appear to have wings." Lungs didn't have wings and so their methods for flight were entirely different. He could do the old method of throwing Lewin off a cliff and let natural instincts take hold. Though if he got hurt, Nix would be very cross with him. "Hmm. Aha! I've got it! You need to get a running start and flap your wings as hard as you can!"

Lewin is a little taken back when Kuraokami reaches forward and brushes the hair out of his eyes, but he allows it. He really wants this contract. Intense dark blue eyes stare back.

When his hair is released, he shakes his head slightly to get that curtain of privacy back, and he grins.

"Let's figure it out as we go!" he says cheerfully, holding out his hand in a friendly gesture. "I'd rather be your friend than your tamer."

@lewinthelighton said : "Angel said so!" Lewin grins, which was good enough to him. Angel couldn't lie worth shit. "I can double-check with the Vatican if ya wanna know for sure."

Kuraokami reached out to push the hair out of Lewin's face, looking into his eyes. The dragon remained silent for a moment before letting go. "I believe you are telling the truth.. My conditions have been met for the contract. You may now set the terms or whatever it is you need for this to work."

Lewin laughs, pratically beams. "Hah, I like you!" This will make the process so much easier. "Yes, usually I can summon with an incantation and or a sigil, but I would much prefer a shorter version! If you're willing to respond to an abbreviated chant, it won't be a forced summon either." He knows at least some of higher level demons doesn't like forceful summons, which is why Lewin prefers befriending.

"Agreed! We can indeed be friends." Kuraokami reached out to shake Lewin's hand. He was unfamiliar with the gesture but saw plenty of humans doing so with one another! "So.. I have heard you use an incantation to summon me yes? What a bother to use so many words when you could be struck down at any moment while speaking." Because surely the enemy never simply stood around and let a Tamer chant the entire thing right? Just like how volatile demons would try to kill those that chanted death verses as soon as possible.

”I heard you often forget to acquire sustenance! I have arrived to remedy the issue!” Kuraokami certainly sounded proud of himself as he.. deposited a small pile of crabs in Lewin’s room. Don’t worry, they were still secure within a cage.

Lewin laughs out loud. "Kuraokami, I don't know how to cook crabs!" he laughs, but going to the cage either way to poke at it and almost get his finger caught. "But I bet Rin can, I should probably give 'em to the dorm. Thanks Kura!"
