Lewinthelighton - Nice To Meet Ya! - Tumblr Blog

"Meet me back here." Shiro will tear him a new one if he lets Dennis wander into the forest alone. "I'll take us to a good spot."
"Oh! Right." The demonic activity; Dennis almost forgot about that.

"I can handle it that! It shouldn't take me too long to get stuff. Do you want me to meet you back here when I'm done or just head to the woods right away?"

"Becaaaaaause safety is important? Y'all should already have had that chat."
@lewinthelighton replied to your post βShiro.exe has stopped working. Would you like to...β:
:D

"I know why. But still, I need to ask: why?"

Excuse him, he just needs a moment to reset his ears. Perhaps the teens aren't that far in their relationship then. "What, safety is important!" This is admittedly pretty funny but Lightning keeps his usual grinned mask because that's even more funny. "I don't know what kinda sex ed Japan has, so ya better chat with Shiro about it."
π "Wh- what's so funny?"

"HUH?!?! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!?!? DON'T JUST SAY STUFF LIKE THAT!! AGHH!!!!" πββ¬

"We'll have to head out at least an hour before sundown 'cause the forest gets kind of busy at night and we need to set up. Couple of hours might be better. Think you can manage that?"
"Right! Cause this is some cold camping--" Jaden's favorite kind of camping, no less "-- so, no on the bug spray, bring lots of warm clothes, extra blankets, snack stuff, and food for tonight."

"If I leave now I can probably get everything gathered up before sundown. What time were you heading out?" Because he'll cheat and teleport around with Vorkith to shave off some extra time. The rat might get tired from all the extra work, but it's for a good cause.
"HAH! Umaimon!" he snorts.

"Sure, talk to Dennis about the stuff you're gonna need to bring. But if y'all are gonna share a tent, talk to Shiro and remember to bring condoms."
@lewinthelighton replied to your post:
"Ya both have bad experiences with that place and ya both willing to just jump back into it. I like it, teenagers are sturdy!"
π "Heh, well... it was fun until Umaimon showed up and ruined everything!"

"Which is why I'd love to try it again! Without interruptions. I promise I won't burn down the forest this time." πββ¬

What an eager kid! This might be pretty fun even if it's kind of a first for Lewin too. It sounds like he has the basics covered though. "I've got the ice chest covered," he grins. In one way or the other. "Get some snacks too, plenty of warm clothes and bring your ward and sigils book. Gonna show ya a good one for camping. And probably best to handle your own dinner," he chuckles. He can't cook well, especially when he can't taste.
"How much time you need to gather all that? We can probably get away with going today unless ya need more time?"

"Yeah!" Dennis is practically vibrating, too high on his excitement to even feel surprised by the fact Lewin had agreed to let him tag along. One of his hand then shoots up and he begins listing off on his fingers, "I'll need a tent, a sleeping bag, some bug spray - although this time of year we're probably fine so, maybe not? But uh, I'll grab some food for myself too, or like, contribute into whatever you're bringing. I'll bring my wood carving knife too, and a first aid kit."
What else? What would Jaden bring..?
"Do I need to grab a ice chest for me? Or, can I like, share with you?"

Lewin considers it. He doesn't usually camp with others unless it's Osceola, and he is actually surprised the kid seems fine with going into the Forest District after what happened. But it might be good for Dennis to move past that and maybe Lightning would get to see those familiars. "Alright then," he grins. He has a feeling Rin will get mad, but oh well. "D'ya know what to get?"
@lewinthelighton replied to your post β"I'm feeling the urge to disappear into the woods...β:
"I was thinking of going camping in the Forest District."

"Really!?" Dennis' eyes are alight with perhaps a bit too much excitement, but a night out camping sounds like a dream come true right about now too - even if Lewin is hosting. "Can I-- Would it be too much trouble if I came with you? I'll go get my own equipment if I have to, it's no big deal."

"Good choice!"

"I'm almost afraid to ask what that means. Is it bad?"

"Hmm, yeah probably." Maybe best to save the kid's ears, he probably doesn't know Lewin's unofficial role in True Cross

"I'm almost afraid to ask what that means. Is it bad?"

"I meant more literally."

"The easiest way to get information is to go through the family."

Yeah, that sounds about right, given his and Jaden's arrangement with Mephisto and the Order.
RIGGITY RAG, DARK AS DECAY; THE NEXT THING YOU MUTTER; WILL BE THE EVILEST THING YOU EVER SAY
Oh, interesting! That could be bad, but shutting up for good isn't really workable. Might as well talk.

"The easiest way to get information is to go through the family."
Oh, seems this one doesn't mind having his hair touched like Dennis does. Noted! "It's funny 'cause you both keep insisting I eat." Like a little carbon copy.

"I'm definitely not the best teacher," he chuckles. "If y'all need an example, you should probably use Nix or your brother."
π "Wh- what's so funny?!"

...it's actually really nice to be compared to Father Fujimoto for once, rather than Satan. Buuut Rin can't let Lightning know he's happy about that! So he's gotta keep up the grumpy act.
"Tch... what kind of teacher even are you? You should be leading by example!" πββ¬

"Nah, but you shouldn't let it control you." Everyone overthinks sometimes, Lewin thinks. He does a whole lot too, but it never seems to stop him. Ramen is a great idea to distract the kid though, he's sure! "They can stay. Only some people can see them so that shouldn't be a problem. They like eating crushed ice!" he says as encouragement for Mitch to continue engaging with them as he gets up to start heading out to the Ramen place, expecting Mitch to follow.
It's not usually something Mitch hated either - rather, being able to engage in something other than gaming with his family always sounded great! It's something he'd dream of, with a family who prefers to stay inside glued to a screen, and how hard it was to pull them away from their obsession. There's a whole world out there - out here! But his mind keeps returning to his siblings. Maybe they aren't worried, but...they could have experienced this together. "Maybe I am," he shrugged. "It's not good to just...ignore those things, though, right?" Lewin doesn't seem to think otherwise with how he brings it up again. Maybe he has a point. Hesitancy is stopping Mitch would want to do for a change. Why not indulge? "...That sounds good," Mitch nods, then glances towards the slyphs. "Do they have to leave then?"
Lewin is blessedly quiet for a moment because he can sort of understand that. Boredom is awful, and after knowing there is a world of other stuff... But even then, going to war is a step too far to be understandable for him. "He shouldn't get to make it boring for everyone else," he decides. "Can you stop him?"
And this is precisely why he conjured up the chair. "There isn't much in Gehenna to feel anything about. Think of living somewhere there's nothing for you to do. No food or games or even stories. Then one day you learn that outside this place is a whole wide world of brand new things you never could have fathomed existed."

"After being in Assiah, the void of Gehenna is more than just unappealing- it's agonizingly boring."

Lewin hardly makes notice of the polite Sir, so used to hearing it that he has stopped hearing it alltogether. Being of high rank is a strange experience at times. "Hmm," he says as he ponders the menu. "Two cheeseburgers and a chicken burger."
He gets up to order, which ends up being three cheeseburgers, one chicken burger, a medium fries, and a cookie crumble milkshake. He uses the money Dennis gave him and anything above he pays himself; which is most of it because he's hungry.
"Here ya go," Lewin says, handing Dennis a tray with a cheeseburger, the fries and the shake. "The drink is great, you'll love it."
"I'll take close enough." Because something is better than nothing. The gourmet burgers offered at the academy are nice, absolutely nothing to scoff at or turn one's nose from, but they're not right either because sometimes it's not about how many gourmet cheeses or wild ingredients are mixed into the build. Sometimes it just needs to be greasy meat and cheese slapped together between a bun with the classics.

So, when Dennis feasts his eyes upon the menu with all of its beautiful simplicity after following Lewin inside, he lets out the most dramatic sigh a teenager of his caliber can muster and claps his hands together as if to start praying. "Thank god. I'm getting a classic cheeseburger. What about you?" A brief pause. "Sir."
Can't forget this guy is an Arc Knight.
The nature of demons are generally quite frustrating because there's as much variety as there is biodiversity in Assiah. It is also why there is an endless amount of knowledge to learn which is perfect for Lewin Light.

"It depends," he can't help but laugh a little. "A lot of them do, but some also have lifespans and limits. Really powerful demons usually need powerful vessels that can keep up. That's why something like a seagod is mostly a whale or something, over a shrimp."

"So, it's a case-by-case kind of deal." Which is a frustrating answer due to its lack of clarity, yet its oddly relieving at the exact same time because there's nothing to be known right off the bat either. Dennis' ignorance could be forgiven because it sounded like everyone else was ignorant too - for the most part, anyway.
"Ignoring all the death though, do demons just naturally live forever then until something kills or exorcises them out of Assiah?"
"There's a simple solution to that," Lewin grins. "Don't summon him unless there's a fight." He has a few of those kind of familiars himself. They're rarer because he tends to befriend them easily enough, but some just aren't keen on coming by unless it's important.

"In time, he'll probably ease up. Once you get a lil' more stable. But if ya have two, then they can just keep the third one at bay if needed!"

"I have started doing that!" Dennis announces quite proudly because he took that initiative on his own. Nevermind that he had to be scolded into it by Jaden and a few others - he was already doing Lewin's helpful suggestion, and thus he has won something out of this little moment of his. "I pretty much got two of them on my side now, I think. The third is still.. kind of testy about things."
A pause.

"I think he's a little fight happy so he gets kinda mad when I summon him without giving him something to fight, ya know?"
"Oh, you like cold foods? Fits you!"

"Sooo you're angry at the grey demons?"
"Sooo you're angry at the grey demons?"
"Is it an emotional response thing, like Okumura flames?"
"Is it an emotional response thing, like Okumura flames?"

"Wow, it's cold in here! Is that one of your powers?"

"Wow, it's cold in here! Is that one of your powers?"
@lewinthelighton said : "That's silly, you were more planned than most people."

"I suppose I was.." The chill still lingered in the room regardless.

"If you do, I said nothing like that."

"I should run that by him. He is the Paladin, it's certainly a detail he ought to be made aware of~"
The silence as they walk to wherever is preferable for Lewin. He is a kind of tired he hasn't felt in a while and that makes him frustrated because he can't really figure out why. At one point he does yawn.
Lewin looks up when Shiro talks again, rubbing an eye. He considers it, but eventually just says "I don't care." He's tired. He's too tired to figure out if he should care. In a way, it's easier to hold his hand because then he doesn't have to think about where they're going. On the other hand, his sylphs are less than happy about it though they haven't actually gotten close to Shiro yet. And maybe he should care, but he just can't right now. "I wanna sleep," he says grumpily.
"I see..." That made a lot of sense, especially when Shiro considered Lewin's origins and his relationship with the sylphs. Shiro felt reluctant to let go of Lewin's hand though despite this revelation because his previous experience with Rin young children had taught him that kids were prone to running off suddenly. They need guiding hands, metaphorically and literally, to keep them in check.

But Lewin also needed a right to his own self and comfort. So, after spending some time deliberating over it, Shiro said, "If you would like me to let go of your hand then I will. But then you have to promise me you'll stay close and not run off. Okay?"
