Patti Smith compone un brano in cui cerca di descrivere l’amore totale di una donna per un uomo, capace di annullarsi per lui… e nasce “Dancing Barefoot”
Parigi, primavera del 1917
Jeanne Hébuterne era una giovane, bellissima ragazza parigina appassionata d’arte. Fu suo fratello André a introdurla nella comunità di Montmartre dove conobbe parecchi artisti o aspiranti tali. Jeanne aveva un talento per il disegno che era stato affinato studiando alla prestigiosa Academie Colarossi. La ragazza cercava disperatamente di farsi notare e, pur di venire in contatto con i grandi artisti dell’epoca, era disposta anche a posare per loro. L’aveva fatto brevemente per il pittore franco-giapponese Foujita sino a che, un giorno della primavera del 1917, la scultrice Chana Orloff le aveva presentato Amedeo Modigliani. In realtà, insieme a Jeanne c’erano altre allieve dell’Academie che speravano di fare colpo sul maestro i cui occhi, però, finirono proprio su di lei. I due divennero ben presto amanti e concubini. Gentile, tranquilla, timida e raffinata, Jeanne Hébuterne fu così modella e musa ispiratrice di Modigliani, trasferendosi con lui nel 1918 a Nizza e avendo una figlia nel novembre dello stesso anno. Nella primavera del 1919 tornarono a Parigi con Hébuterne incinta per la seconda volta, ma, nel frattempo, Modigliani aveva contratto una meningite batterica e il suo stato di salute stava precipitando. Il 20 gennaio 1920 il Maestro moriva e, distrutta dalla sua scomparsa, Jeanne Hébuterne si toglieva la vita gettandosi dal quinto piano.
Sessant’anni dopo, impressionata da questa drammatica storia, Patti Smith compone un brano in cui cerca di descrivere l’amore totale di una donna per un uomo, capace di annullarsi per lui, di essere intossicata da lui, travolta da una passione irresistibile e ingestibile. Chissà se questa canzone, Dancing Barefoot, uno dei grandi classici della “sacerdotessa del punk” aveva un che di autobiografico…
...scoprire che rock n roll nigger di Patti Smith non si può sentire su spotify che quindi è molto più avanti rispetto alle nuove edizioni dei libri di Roald Dahl... segue una serie di bestemmie....

AFTERNOON OF A WRITER
Though nothing much had happened, he felt that he had seen and experienced enough that day - thus securing his tomorrow. He recalled how, years ago, when it had been his habit to taken afternoon walks on lonely bypaths, a strange uneasiness had taken possession of him, leading him to believe that he had dissolved in the air and ceased to exist.
