When he exiled himself to the Dream Realm knowing that Radiance was there, he tried to spread the Void to eliminate her. So I had this idea that the White Palace (the one in the game) is a prision made by and for the Pale King, but I never got a strong reason besides regret.

Your theory/undertanding makes so much sense, what if Pale King imprisioned himslef thinking that The Radiance would go after him and leave Hallownest alone, but it was never about that. The Radiance just wanted to be remember. So she never went after the Pale King, and his sacrifice was as useless and the Pure Vessel’s!
