The Philippines and the Filipino people are so beautiful. If you ever visit the Philippines come to the provinces. Life out here is simple and natural. I love it.
I'm doing my pencil drawings on watercolor paper. It gives them a rich texture and it allows me to work them heavily with the eraser.
I took two pictures of this drawing. I can't decide which one to post so I'll post both

I just drew this about 30 minutes ago. I know it's not a finished complete drawing but its finished enough that she's talking to me. And I'm listening to her.
I think I'm going to listen to her for a while. Tomorrow is another day.
Update:
I worked on her some more. She's still only half done but she's still talking to me so I'm going to quit while I'm ahead. And it's dinner time.

I've settled into a routine of drawing every morning. When I start a new drawing, I'm always fearful of failure, but usually something comes out of it. My wife says this drawing looks like one of the tribal women who live up in the mountains here in the Philippines. I wasn't trying to draw that, but I'll take it. Actually, I'm just trying to learn how to draw faces. And play with composition. This drawing looks a bit cartoonish, but I like where we're going.

Bulusan Volcano, Philippines
"Daddy, " Sean, my 8 yo son asked me, "Why are sea songs so happy when there are all those sunken ships at the bottom of the ocean?"
I've been thinking about that recently.
We went on a road trip this last weekend up to the northern coast of the island. We camped out on the beach and in the morning, across the sea, Bulusan volcano loomed large, shrouded in clouds.
I drank my coffee at sunrise by the water. A crane came by and hung out with me for a while.

✨️ Lingling: The Fragrance of Nature 🌿
Dumagat Negritos in the northeast coast of Luzon describe the Balendik as a tree-dwelling white spirit with thin legs and a horse’s head. Negritos who have a successful hunt in the forest chop off a part of their kill and throw it up a tree as offering to the creature saying: “This is for thee.” The Balendik is possibly related to the tikbalang.
Lingling’s tree is also home to the Waling-waling flowers, which are her namesake.

MAJOR TW / Police Brutality , Murder, Violence, Gunshot
There is a video, but I decided not to post it. I want to show just how fucked up our system and country is! The picture shows a policeman with his daughter having an argument with an older lady and her son.
According to the video I watched, the policeman and his daughter got into the argument because of the loud noise the boga(type of fireworks) was producing. The old lady, crying while holding her son, told them that it is not them because they were inside the house. The daughter of the policeman then continued to shout at the old lady saying "No! my Father is a policeman!"
The old lady continued to cry hysterically while saying "I don't care" and then policeman pointed his gun to the old lady saying "Do you want me to end you now?" Without hesitation, he proceeds to shoot the old lady and her son. TWICE. I am so fucking furious, hurt, sad because lives were taken away just like that! Just because you're a POLICEMAN doesn't mean you will abuse your power and you will get to choose who lives and dies!

#CagayanPHNeedsHelp
This is what’s currently happening in Cagayan Valley, Philippines right now. This is caused by the previous typhoon Ulysses. The whole place is submerged in water. People are screaming for help, drowning, and some already died due to electrocution. And we need your help to spread awareness because there’s only little to no media coverage at all.
If you can donate, here’s a link to different donation drives and relief ops for Cagayan.

Duterte, the absolute coward, is more worried about women criticizing him than actually honoring the women this country needs to remember
Please don’t let these women be silenced.
