Everything went wrong when Gabriel DeLeon agreed to chaperone a bunch of his students on a field trip to DC. Instead he got drunk and lost his luggage, his phone and his clothes. His sister agreed to "help" by dressing him up like a girl, and when Principle Banks, his new boss, doesn't recognize him, he finds himself getting enrolled at the very school he teaches at. How could this weekend get any worse?

Do buy the book if you can! The poems in it are stunningly raw and heartbreaking - I think it does a good job of capturing the universal struggle to make sense of family and cultural roots, a struggle that transcends race and religion.
