I’m having it custom quilted. It’s going to be in a silent auction at a meeting my daughter is planning. Hope it will bring in a lot of $$

What do you think of it??

A quilt with a center hexagon made up of stars in rainbow colors swirling outward and fading. Around the hexagon is a black background sewn with big silver stitches in a pattern of tessellating parallelograms.

The quilt has received a ribbon for third place in visual impact.
Close up on the pale green side of the star conglomerate. The background fades out to black from white at the center.
Closeup on the center rainbow star and the big stitches in color matched thread.

"Swirling Stars," English paper pieced by Laura Duggan, some collaboration by Sally Bingham on piecing the outer negative space, hand quilted by Laura Duggan

This Is An Odd Little Quilt. It Measures 26 X 34" And Is A Specific Measurement For An Entry In Our Local

This is an odd little quilt. It measures 26 X 34" and is a specific measurement for an entry in our local Fair. All entries will be donated to Markham Stouffville District Hosptial NICU. The inspiration for this was a photo from an old Austrailian Quilting Magazine ... a full sized "Bug" quilt. The wonky jars each contain a different 'bug' and the back is crawling with little ants. I tried double sided binding for the first time ... it was much easier that I had thought it would be. I found a great tutorial on YouTube!

Finished custom quilting this one today. In the bottom section, I quilted the words to You Are My Sunshine and the part where it says “you’ll never know dear how much I love you” is in glow in the dark thread. Turned out so cute!
