Quiobi Poem - Tumblr Posts

I've read this poetry a few times now and I am still not sure if I really get it all. But I wanna know?!

Will I understand it better when I re-read it tomorrow?

I love it but it makes me sad as well!

Limbo (A Not-Poem)

Limbo (A Not-Poem)

In the beginning,

When he came to be,

There was darkness.

He was formless,

Sightless,

Weightless.

The silence was deafening.

Where was here?

It was bleak in the here.

Who was he?

Was.

No, he wasn’t anymore.

The Force enveloped him,

As the womb envelops the embryo,

Protective,

Warm.

Slowly,

Ever so steadily,

It starts to come to him.

At first his name: Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Then the notion of a rumbling laughter,

The idea of fleeting touches,

The perception of a beard scratching bare skin.

He realizes it’s what keeping him tethered,

Preventing him from simply…

Floating away.

Then a name comes to him: Qui-Gon Jinn.

The birth pains start,

He feels as his formless being stretches,

Molecules spreading apart.

And suddenly, indigo light.

He’s in a dark place,

Though not as dark as Limbo.

It is ragged and uneven.

Cold.

The air is damp, heavy with the scent of earth.

He is in a cavern.

A figure stands in the edge of the shadows,

Obi-Wan can feel him,

Hear his song that sings of sorrow but also greenery.

A presence he finds himself longing for.

“Qui-Gon,”

His voice is barely above a whisper,

But it carries across the cave.

The figure rouses from where it lays,

Obi-Wan’s glow illuminating azure eyes.

But in it there is sadness,

A gloom that overtakes the countenance of Qui-Gon Jinn.

“Oh, my master,”

Obi-Wan starts towards his heart,

Cradling the face of his beloved.

His beloved shivers.

“I have failed you,” Qui-Gon’s voice cracks.

Demeanor crumbling, he curls up against Obi-Wan’s ghostly form.

The memory, though old, is still fresh.

In the stillness, it is clear,

A life taken in the heat of battle.

“I’m here,” Obi-Wan murmurs, His touch gentle, “You have not failed.”

“I’m stuck with more than my bones can bear,

Your absence,

A failed apprentice,

Another child to care for.”

Obi-Wan’s light flickers softly,

His time is ending.

He smiles sadly at his master,

Who knows it’s ending.

“I’ll be back,” Though he didn’t know if he would be.

“Fall asleep with me?”

Obi-Wan lays down.

His time is ending.

The floor is cold and uncomfortable,

And he knows he will not wake up with Qui-Gon.

But he will not deny his beloved this comfort.

Obi-Wan closes his eyes,

And the next time he is aware,

He’s in Limbo.
