Random Tidbit - Tumblr Posts
So I work as a part-time cake decorator. Yesterday, towards the end of my shift, a customer wanted ‘Happy Anniversary’ written on a cake.
I am not a good speller, I asked the customer how to spell anniversary.
I ended up writing happy annivery on the cake.
Thankfully it was one of the frozen cakes, so I was able to scrape off the misspelling and fix it, but...yeah. That happened. x.x
So, food coloring can be some pretty potent stuff. Some colors more so than others. Case in point, blue food coloring, last time I got some of that on my bare skin it didn’t come off for a week. And then today, a week later, well long story short I seem incapable of not making a mess and now my wrists are blue.
What I really have to wonder though is what the heck is in the pink coloring. The pink icing stains the stainless steel icing tips.
So in our living room, floating in a corner, is a graduation balloon that at this point has been there for a couple of months. Amazingly it is still going strong and floating.
Last night our dog Penny decided that the weird floating thing in the corner is a threat and now she keeps growling at it.
Went on a Halloween Decoration adventure today before a doctor’s appointment and found a mug that sums me up perfectly.
I think the critters are judging me for having sketchbooks strewn everywhere.

This has been random pictures of cat and dog. Good evening, everyone.
Alright, so, my youngest cousin is 8 years old. Every year she does some sort of little craft thing for gifts. This year she drew on wine glasses for all the women in the family.
Most of these glasses would get something like a heart, happy faces, with little ‘I love you’ messages.
Except the one she made for me.
It’s a ghost.
A ghost holding a knife. There is also a message written on it that says “love you lots”.
I love it and shall treasure it always.
I feel like I need to share a little story here because I never associated diamonds as being required for an engagement ring. I will now say why.
My mom’s engagement ring is not a diamond, it’s a sapphire a lovely dark blue sapphire. The story goes that my dad took her to pick out her own ring when they got engaged- that way my mom was able to pick one she really liked. (my dad is not the type for traditional romance, from what I’ve been told he was very blunt and casual about his feelings.)
In the end it doesn’t matter what the ring is made of, what matters is what is symbolizes.
Also I’m not sure that’s actually a picture of an uncut diamond,the crystal structure looks off. *glares at image and reblogs*

alright it’s like 6:30 in the morning and I’m half awake let’s do this!
1. I am on the autism spectrum, I was diagnosed back when I was in the fourth grade with Asperger’s syndrome and ADD. I was told about the diagnoses 4 years later. It is a blessing and a curse, some things are harder than they should be but I wouldn’t be me without it.
2. on a related note before I was told of my diagnosis young me had no concept of what mental health really was, I could tell there was something different about me and my first line of reasoning was hey maybe I’m secretly not human.
3. Socializing does not come easy to me at all, I typically clam up when meeting new people. But once I’m comfortable I’m a giggly chatterbox.
4. I know how to knit and crochet, nothing too fancy I tend to stick to the basics, the most complex thing I ever made might me a knitted bunny hand puppet.
5. I graduated from the Pastry Arts program at a vocational school called The Chefs Academy last year with honors. My degree is technically a science degree. I like to think that technically means I can consider myself a mad scientist.
6. I am accident prone, and so are both of my parents. I like to joke that it’s a family curse. The rule of the curse is it’s the stupid stuff that gets ya- sharp knives? Know not to trust those, I have only injured myself twice on knives (both in the same day) and... I’ve had worse papercuts. Meanwhile I have injured myself worse on: a comb, a piping tip, and the smooth side of a bucket. Oh and I managed to cut myself on a brownie.
7. Back during my final two years of highschool, we had a wildlife education class every Friday. This involved going to a wildlife center and running around in the woods all day- it was loads of fun and a great way to learn about the various local environment. This even included an overnight fieldtrip at a park- we learned how to navigate the woods with no flashlights at night. Amazingly, nobody got hurt and everyone had a great time.
8. Undertale is the first fandom I’ve gotten properly sucked into and felt comfortable doing fanart for. I actually used to be really afraid of drawing fanart- I think mostly because when kid me learned about copyright she took that to mean “if you draw anything that someone else owns and show it to people you’ll get in loads of trouble don’t do it”. ...kid me was smart in some ways, and not smart in special ways.
9. I love a good story, be it from a book, television, videogame, or elsewhere. I also have a tendency of trying to predict where stories are going to go, which either results in either those around me going “how did you know that???” or in me being pleasantly surprised.
10. I am not a morning person. I get very grouchy in the morning and require several hours to wake up enough to face the day/ leave the house.
11. I have a love for earth minerals and geology. I don’t consider myself a proper collector, because my hoard of rocks and minerals is anything but organized. Most of my collection is kept in a chest (that’s gonna be fun to move whenever I move), but there are also plenty of rocks and minerals scattered about my room like easter eggs. I enjoy digging for new additions, especially if I’ve had a particularly bad day.

So I guess, round 2? This time while awake!
1- I have taken a couple photography classes, one involved making a lot of paper fruit/dinosaurs and putting together a sort of stop-motion thing, and the other was a zombie-apocalypse themed class that explored traditional saltprinting techniques. I still have the pinhole cameras I made in the second class!
2- Before going to culinary school, I tried to get a degree in early childhood education and did some work as a substitute teacher’s aid at a preschool. I really enjoy working with kids! Unfortunately things kinda fell apart when I got to the psychology portion of the online course, and while I can handle children alright I cannot converse well with adults.
3- I love animals, growing up our family always had cats and dogs. Currently the household I live in has 3 dogs and a cat.
4- I cannot tolerate alcohol. The smell alone sickens me, I chalk it up as being one of those things I’m extra sensitive to. That, combined with the fact I really don’t want to know what sort of drunk I’d be, is why I don’t drink. I had to take a winetasting class in school, I always left feeling ill.
5- Other flavors/smells I can’t tolerate include oranges and mint. I have mistaken mint for skunk before because it smells that pungent to me.
6- My gag reflex is so sensitive that the dentist I had as a kid feared me. I had to have my appointment before eating anything, and they used the smaller sized plates for the x-rays an extra year because they did not want me to puke on them. Any non-food object held in my mouth (this includes just holding something in my teeth) will make me gag.
7- I’m a nervous biter. If I’m stressed I’ll bite my lips, fingers, pencils, etc. I stopped biting my lips as much as a kid when they got really badly chapped.
8- I always hated sports as a kid, and continue to not be that interested now. Every time I had to get involved in sports due to PE class, it would end with me getting hit in the head somehow. Basketball? Hit in the head. Soccer? Head blow hard enough to get a concussion. Dodge ball? People throw those dang squishy balls hard enough it really hurts.
9- I have really wide feet, so wide that women size shoes are just too narrow. There used to be a store that sold wide sized women’s shoes but it closed down years ago. These days I just opt for men sized shoes. Also, wearing shoes too narrow for my feet resulted in my spraining my ankle on several occasions- but I wore them because I was told shoes are supposed to hurt until you wear them in. (my advice, if you have wide feet- get wide shoes. Your ankles will thank you.)
10- When I was younger, I hated that my friends/family called everything I drew cute no matter what I drew. These days I just accept that apparently cute is ingrained into my style.
11- Hmm, for the final fact... ah! When I was a small child, my imaginary friend was a vampire until I had a dream on of his friends tried to eat me. After that he got replaced by an alien who had accidentally stranded himself on earth by blowing up his spaceship. (20 some years later, my interests appear unchanged XD)

How old are you? I am 24, going to be 25 in less than a month o_o Dream job? I never really had an ideal dream job in mind, but given I can draw cute animals and dinosaurs on cakes and get paid for it now I’d say kid me would be happy with the job I’ve wound up with. What is a big goal you are working towards (or have already achieved)? I’m going to answer this the way I answered questions like this when I was still in school. I want to be able to function out in public, to be okay in social situations, I want to be able to go out and be a functioning member of society without breaking down. I went to school because I hoped that graduating would give me some sort of confidence, it didn’t, it’s a work in progress but I hope one day I can go out into the world and be myself without being afraid.
What’s your aesthetic? I have no idea, I am easily entranced by too many things. Forests, geological formations, snow and ice, the sky and anything that might be up there- I prefer cool colors, and night, duality... I don’t know if all these apply but there’s the answer.
Do you collect anything? I collect rocks, minerals, and fossils (or rather hoard them). What’s a topic you’re always up to talk about? hmm...dinosaurs, animals, Pokemon, Digimon, Undertale, nature and plants, colors, really if you bring up a topic I have a slight interest in chances are I’ll find something to say. Cartoons! Comics! Stories! (the list really goes on I’m gonna stop)
What’s a pet peeve of yours? When people dismiss another person’s emotions or emotional state, or when people try to tell others how they should or should not feel. It strikes me on a personal level, since my emotions have always been 0 or 100 in terms of intensity in situations. You can’t fault someone for not feeling an emotion, and it’s okay to feel what you do feel. As far as I know, emotions aren’t something that can be controlled. But you can control, or at least try to control, your actions. Good advice to give? It’s going to be okay, there are people out there who care, they don’t hate you as much as you think, it’s okay to ask for help, don’t be afraid to speak up, someone out there will understand. Why did i choose my URL: Well, my go-to screen name is Colbypuppy, and I had recently graduated and have a degree in Pastry Arts, and I thought I’d just be throwing up baking projects and stuff with the occasional drawing. Past me was not expecting what this blog would actually become known for.

Favorite characters: I do not like to pick favorites. I like too many characters from too many things. And then in shows like Steven Universe and game like Undertale I end up loving all the characters to some degree and for different reasons.
Dream job: I never really had any one singular job in mind that really screamed “this is what I want to do in life”. Well, alright, I dreamed of telling stories through comics but I never considered those as feasible for a career path. I didn’t want the threat of deadlines and absolutely having to have something done and presentable by a specific time draining the reason I love drawing out of the process. Also, I thought I’d never be able to see a project through- I’d start out making something and then about 10 pages in, lose steam, and stop.
TLDR- making comics but past me didn’t think I could do it.

So, as some of you may know, I got diagnosed with depression earlier this year. In addition to anxiety, and the autism.
Just started on my antidepressants today.
Holy moly guys- is this how other people actually feel as a baseline? Just, holy cow I’m not used to good feelings not fading away quickly and just, being content??? And not having to fight down negative emotions constantly? This is going to take some getting used to but good gravy how do people live with constant low level emotions.
I took the dog for a walk simply because it’s nice out and a walk sounded nice. I encountered a neighbor while out walking and didn’t have that voice in the back of my head screaming in panic throughout the encounter.
It’s a good day guys. I think I could get used to this.
Been getting into the habit of walking the dogs every day! The dogs love it.
My limbs are now all noodles.
