summary:

jeongguk looks at him like he’s meant to have some answer for that. but yoongi can only stare at jeongguk, replaying the words back in his head. and then, once the silence has stretched on long enough, yoongi begins laughing.

(or: yoongi wakes to find that his boyfriend has been switched with a version of himself from a parallel universe. he also finds that it’s impossible to not love jeongguk, no matter where or when he came from.)

i love a good trope, and what can i say? this was wildly enjoyable! the worldbuilding and plot were amazing, and this is the kind of feel-good slow burn i need more of in my life. i wouldn't exactly call this fluff, but it *is* gratifying to see yoongi slowly fall in love with jin in this one.

summary:

Jeon Seokjin has exactly four weeks to stop the impending engagement of his younger brother, doomed to a loveless marriage. The only way to stop it is to make a better match, more advantageous, more lucrative for the Jeon family. It's impossible. It's his only option.

Min Yoongi does not want, will never want, will never ever even consider, marriage. It's not in the cards. He's stubborn enough to achieve the total ban on marriage talks. Except maybe his grandmother is a little more stubborn than he is, and maybe she's determined to see him march down the aisle.

The chaebol arranged marriage au that exactly one and a half people asked for.

yes, so, this hurts. this was actually my first time reading a sentinel/guide au, and this fic really delivered it on a silver platter. you're in for a rich little piece of worldbuilding, breathtaking writing, and the feels. i absolutely adored every single word of this fic— it was real and raw and it definitely clawed my heart out. this fic does deal with a few pretty heavy themes, so please read the tags before engaging!

summary:

The prince's companion is a sentinel. Taehyung knows, like he's never known anything before, and fear is copper and sharp on his tongue, and the sentinel's eyes stay lowered and his shoulders stay stiff and he follows exactly in the prince's footsteps like a trained dog. The prince's companion is a sentinel, and Taehyung for the first time feels alone in his own skin, quiet and still and wholly himself.

Taehyung never wanted to leave his home behind. Jimin never had one in the first place.

this one is an absolute treat! yoongi hires tae to be his pretend boyfriend but then it becomes a bit too real and that's cliché to a fault, but also funny, well-written and just a really good time overall.

summary:

“Together with their families, Kim Namjoon and Kim Seokjin… Wow, this is formal… Wait,” Hoseok squints at the paper, before looking back at Yoongi with a quizzical look on his face. “They invited you with a guest? But… You’re single, right?”

“Min Yoongi,” Jimin glares at him over the bar, crossing his arms sternly over his chest. “If you’re seeing someone and you didn’t tell us I will kick your ass, so help me god.”

“I’m not dating anyone,” Yoongi sighs, grabbing the invitation and scanning it quickly. The words “with a guest” are underlined and Yoongi can almost see it: the smugness on his brother’s face as he nods with satisfaction, putting the pencil down.

“So what does it mean?”

Yoongi shifts uncomfortably in his seat, avoiding making eye contact.

"I might’ve… invented a boyfriend," he finally mumbles to the glass in front of him.

not to sound like a new york times critic, but this was a page-turner! (page scroller?)

the premise and the worldbuilding were really interesting, and aside from being a fresh take on the same old vampire trope, this one was just a joy to read from start to finish. i mean, don't get me wrong, there's angst— but I also stayed up late reading this because of how hooked i was. this one is a staple in my vampire aus collection!

(also everyone's so dramatic in this fic and i dig that)

summary:

For hundreds of years, Jungkook has made it so his weaknesses could not be touched, could not be used against him. Hundreds of years, a small dent in his eternal life, and its snapped and tugged away from him in one night.

When Yoongi had freed him all of those years ago, he swore to never let another person put a hold on him. He swore to never let himself bind to anyone, let them use him as they please.
