Sachiel
Sachiel, Neon Genesis Evangelion’s Third Angel, and Rebuild’s Fourth Angel, is the subject of the first post.
Sachiel, the Bone Mask Pokémon. Known for his childlike mind, regenerative ability, and surprisingly powerful arms, Sachiel is the first Angel known to the world at large, and the third overall... except in the Rebuild universe, where a nameless being identical to Sachiel is the Fourth Angel instead.
A Dark and Water type. Male. Water 1 and Human-Like egg groups. Defiant ability. No form changes. Sachiel hatches from the Aquatic Egg, a Rock and Water type.

Shamshel
Shamshel, Neon Genesis Evangelion’s Fourth Angel, and Rebuild’s Fifth Angel is the subject of the next post.
Shamshel, the Whip Arm Pokémon. Known for her whip-like arms, levitation capabilities and speed, Shamshel is the second Angel known to the world at large, and the fourth overall, except in Rebuild, where her nameless suspiciously similar substitute is the Fifth Angel.
When Shamshel enters battle, she changes from her Psychic and Flying type Flight form to her Psychic and Fighting Fight form.
A Psychic and Flying/ Psychic and Fighting type. Female. Water 3 and Human-Like egg groups. Pressure ability. Can change form. Shamshel hatches from the Levitating Egg, a Rock and Flying type.

Ramiel
Ramiel, Neon Genesis Evangelion’s Fifth Angel, and Rebuild’s Sixth, is this post’s subject.
Ramiel, the Octahedron Pokémon. A terrifyingly strong Angel, with one of the strongest Absolute Terror Fields of any being on Earth. Capable of limited shapeshifting, mostly involving her drill. Her Rebuild doppelgänger, the Sixth Angel, is able to change shape more freely, often using multiple shapes in the span of a minute and rarely repeating a form.
A Rock and Electric type. Female. Mineral and Human-Like egg groups. Absolute Terror ability (The Pokémon is immune to all types except Electric, and takes 4x damage from Electric attacks.) Can change form, but there are too many to bother giving each one a name. Ramiel, like Shamshel, hatches from the Levitating Egg, a Rock and Flying type.

Sahaquiel
Sahaquiel, Neon Genesis Evangelion’s Tenth Angel, and Rebuild’s Eighth, is this post’s subject.
Sahaquiel, the Falling Eye Pokémon. An enormous Angel who uses her velocity, mass and Absolute Terror Field to create giant explosions. Sahaquiel is the Tenth Angel, while a vaguely similar being is Rebuild’s Eighth Angel.
A Flying and Fire type. Female. Mineral and Human-Like egg groups. Self Detonate ability (The Pokémon loses 1/5 of its maximum HP at the end of each turn. The opposing Pokémon loses that much HP.) No form changes. Sahaquiel hatches from the Orbiting Egg, a Rock and Flying type.
The Eighth Angel is similar to Sahaquiel, but one of the most noticeable differences is the rainbow and black striping instead of orange, as well as a humanoid extension from her central pupil.
The Eighth Angel changes from Meteor form to Orb form when she enters battle, and after three turns changes to Eye form.
A Rock and Psychic/ Flying and Psychic type. Female. Mineral and Human-Like egg groups. Self Detonate ability (The Pokémon loses 1/5 of its maximum HP at the end of each turn. The opposing Pokémon loses that much HP.) Can change form. The Eighth Angel, like Sahaquiel, hatches from the Orbiting Egg, a Rock and Flying type.

The white kitten and an aliens thoughts on death (Aka, why tf did he do that)
So. We all know Karl (Despite being the most catboy ever) obliterated a kitten in one of arguably the most memed on manga scenes in eva, but why did Sadamoto decide to write and include such a scene anyway??
Warning for animal death yall be careful!!!
So we first see the white kitten lost and alone in the rubble of Tokyo-3. With Shinji picking it up and carrying the animal around for a bit, acting as a brief emotional respite for both within the crumbling concrete and exposed rebar. However, after meeting Kaworu, the latter picks up the animal. After he briefly observes it, he crushes it in his hands. Now, this obviously terrifies Shinji, but Kaworu retorts with the reasoning that "it would be better to end its suffering" as the kitten can not survive without its mother and will die regardless of what Shinji does.
With that information out of the way, heres my interpretation of this very out of left field scene!
So the first thing we notice is that the kitten is.. white, unlike the black cat Kaworu was originally planned to have in the series draft. In the rebuilds, Mari calls shinji 「ワンコくん」, very literally "Puppy" or "Puppy-boy". Now, as Shinji and Kaworu are intended to be cinematic foils, this (along with the kittens coloration and fate) leads me to conclude that the kitten represents who else other than kaworu himself.
Looking at it from this point of view adds an absurd amount of layers to both this action and mangaworu as a whole. We know that this is one of the, if not the first, attempts Kaworu has made to befriend and seduce Shinji. Along with this, we also know that before the armaiseal fight, he was doing this for himself alone. As he had no understanding of Lilin emotional connection or reasoning to continue their existence and betray his kin/children. This comes to a head upon encountering the kitten.
The kitten mirrors kaworus life. It is picked up by a kind human, shown affection for the first time in its life, but separated from its kind it will be doomed regardless. So in a shot mirrored from his own death, kaworu, a figure who should be nurturing the confused animal inflicts the "mercy" he is desperate for himself. Without shinji, kaworu would have not destroyed humanity out of a love for its people, but for the sake of defying seele. In both the drafts and the series itself, we are shown frequently that kaworu has self-destructive and suicidal tendencies, putting himself behind the mask of a hopeful martyr. At the same time, however, we see that in the event of the smallest failure, kaworu will simply.. give up. While he could have feasibly saved himself at the end of episode 24 (by like, talking), he chooses not to instead succumbing to his death at Shinji's hands. A death that he not only accepts, but in the manga actually begs for with the line, "if you've ever felt anything for me at all, you'll grant me this". To put it simply, Kaworu wants to die.
As the angel of free will, Kaworu believes the single act he can perform by his own volition IS his own death. He can forfeit the cycle even if just for a moment by pretending it's at its end, seele loses and shinji lives, even if he himself doesn't. So the not yet well-adjusted Kaworu perceives himself (at this particular point in time) as a merciful God to this weak animal, this animal he sees himself in, giving it the same merciful freedom he wants in the end. Because if he wants to die and be free, doesn't everything else want to as well?
He doesn't hold malice for the animal, and in a twisted case of an angels justice, he believes he has in fact saved it from a far grimmer fate, failure.

I fucking love the idea of Shinji becoming an angel of nephlim in some form, so fucking much.
Like it pushes him closer to being like Kaworu, it kinda shows a loss of humanity, and kinda the effects of his repeated sacrifice when he pilots; and especially after the Zereul fight, seeing Shinji's body now reflecting the evolution and loss of humanity that Unit 01 has following its merge with the S² engine.
Also it just looks and feels dope as hell! The idea of Shinji being left not entirely human after Unit 01 reconstituted him, and him becoming the very thing he's been fighting against. Shinji after giving everything he had left, breaking his promise to never pilot again, choosing to get back in and fight again showing the last of his humanity dying with him as Zereul stabs him, and letting him be reborn as some form of angel-human (a nephlim?), and also the idea of shinji having like the core red eyes, and controlling unit 01 (like Kaworu controlling 02), also just looks so cool to me. And I feel like it kinda shows a better version of "The Curse of the EVA" that they mention
