fun fact: THIS IS ACTUALLY TRUE.

RIBBON EELS ARE ONE OF THE FEW ANIMALS THAT CAN CHANGE THEIR GENDER!

I'll break it down (prepare for infodump op)

nerd time (idc if you KNOW THIS I NEED TO NERD OUT NOW)

Ribbon eels are born biologically male, like whiptail lizards, they are born from a one gendered dominated population. Ribbon eels are usually a colorful mix of black, blue and yellow.

Ribbon eels can change from male to female when its time to lay eggs, their pattern changing from blue, black and yellow to completely yellow.
