I can’t believe it’s over. This full-filled the found family and time travel/ fix it obsession I have but damn it’s over already. I loved every chapter of this story and honestly if the author decided to continue i would deal with the torture of updates (i only read completed works as i’m a binger and usually it mentally pains me to not be able to read on).
This fic starts off with sakura having ideas due to the absences in her life and the struggles she has due to being a single parent, the difference with canon and this story is that there’s no romance between sakura and sasuke. Due to this, she plans a whole trip into the past but instead of ending up where she had carefully created her notes to be able to make change, she ends up farther back in the past than she expects.
While reading this, throw anything from the canon timeline out the window. It is done in the best way the author could and of course as the creator of this piece took liberties to change a few things from the timeline. It doesn’t help that we don’t know everything since we were only given hints to events by kishimoto, for example things about the first and second hokages, how they passed, ages(!) which is a big one for me. (Though, i myself don’t pay too close of an attention to anything before naruto’s age range,, all i know is by the time of obito and kakashi,, madara was an old man on his own version of life support).
Anyway, i had to specify that because there were a few people in the comments in this fic who were really anal about the differences between what happened in canon and what the story deemed canon. But again, it’s a time travel fic so things are bound to be different regardless due to someone of the future making decisions that would have a ripple effect on everything else.
It is sakura-centric and you could think of this as a non-massacre, everyone lives fic because Sakura’s whole intention to even time travel was so that her precious people could live more peacefully and not deal with the heavy weight of loss, grief, survivors guilt, having to deal with everything on their own, ect. She wanted to change konoha in a way that the sandaime hokage never could.
Oh and if you hate the 3rd hokage just as much as some of us,, you’ll love some of the things that happen regarding him.
Get ready for an onslaught of OCs because as I said, it’s a found family fic and there’s a LOT of kids.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS! It isn’t, unfortunately, for strict shippers so if you ship canon ships, this probably isn’t for you. (I myself was hoping for some sasusaku since it was in the tags, though with the (past) next to their name, but considering she leaves them behind.. it was fruitless thinking lol). If you enjoy reading different pairings getting together or simply read whatever,, then pls pls pls pls give this story a shot! It’s for us lonely bastards who wish we had a full and happy family lmfaoooo.

trans kakashi origin story nobody asked for-
he literally named himself after an actual scarecrow.
see, his original given name was after his late mother. but given what went down with sakumo and the fact that he'd never known his mother, he wanted to cut ties. but not all the way. he wanted his name to be a reminder of something happy, something that tied them into his life but still allowed him to be his own person.
he had remembered the field in the back of their house that had once been for growing crops. most of it was just used for training grounds and the ninken when kakashi was little, but there was a square fenced off for sakumo to grow fruits and veggies. in the middle was a single scarecrow. and kakashi had been obsessed with that scarecrow as a baby. his father said he'd babbled to it when he was Very Tiny, and once he got a little older he would talk to it. the scarecrow was basically kakashi's version of an imaginary friend. their morning routine included a long stay in the garden so kakashi could play with his scarecrow friend and sakumo could tend the plants in relative peace. some of his most vivid memories of his father are of him kneeling in the dirt with gloved hands and a grin, the scarecrow in kakashi's periphery.
not long after sakumo died, dai told kakashi that his mother had drawn the henohenomoheji design on it when she first moved in with sakumo. it was one of sakumo's fondest memories of her, watching her laugh like mad after drawing a silly face on the scarecrow. and it became one of the few stories kakashi actually had about his mother.
so he decided to name himself kakashi, and to use the henohenomoheji as his callsign.

It was created by me back in 2008/2009 when the theory of Tobi-Madara being Obito was not really that popular, we barely suspected anything, so I had Rin and Obito also dropping by the fire when Kakashi died in Chapter 425 (in which Kakashi promised to take his time and tell his dad "a loooong story" about his life) :D

I know the Sesshoumaru thing was a joke, but like. He is a Lorge Doggo, cares for a human child named Rin, and can stab people back to life. Pretty convenient for a dude who is associated with dogs, has a son who is friends with a human child named Rin, and stabbed himself to death. Just sayin.
