Scar Tissue - Tumblr Posts

definitely agree with op here. as a scar-haver, here's what I have to contribute to the research:

it might be useful to think of a scar like a really thick piece of skin (which I don't know enough about to say if that's actually what it is or not, but that's what they feel like to me). pretty sure thick skin is supposed to be less sensitive. it's literally a whole colloquial phrase.

some scars have weird nerve problems associated with their origins, but other than that, I would describe scar tissue as feeling like I just said (a layer of really thick skin), or, differently described, like there's kind of a layer of numbness over that area of skin. there's still generally sensation, but not quite as much.

so yeah. unless you're gonna talk about how you smacked your surgical incision scar against something accidentally and it hurt way way more than it would've before you got the scar (and I'm pretty certain this is not always a problem with this type of scar), I personally from my own experience cannot endorse writing a scar as more sensitive than unmarked skin, especially since that exact same scar can hardly feel the difference between the different sides of velcro.

Just remembered, but please look into what scar tissue is. Ive read a few things now that refer to scars as being more sensitive than unmarked skin. No. Nope. Thats not it chief.

This idea fascinated me so much, that I went back to watch the conversation. Here's what Mobius tells Loki:

"A couple hunters went on a mission somewhere near the Black Sea to find a Variant whose gonna be responsible for 5000 deaths; 5000 deaths that were not in the proper flow of time.

They get there and there's a little hiccup; the Variant is an eight-year-old boy. He was just minding his own business, swimming with his brother, jumping off the dock.

And one of the hunters who had never had trouble pruning before, he had never hesitated but that day he did, he paused. Timelines started to branch, more Variants appeared; happened so fast his partner had to step in and prune the kid.

But by then, cat was out of the bag, couple hunters died; all because that one hunter he lost sight of the big picture. You gotta keep the big picture in mind."

So, let's look at the evidence:

The "Variant" is an eight-year-old boy. We know from Thor that Loki played a prank on him, where he shape-shifted into a snake and then stabbed Thor, when he was picked up. That happened when they were both eight. That checks out. (Never mind that they are not the same age, that could just be the human equivalent.)

In the Void, the other Lokis regard Kid Loki as the king. That might be, because he was the first Loki ever to be pruned.

5000 deaths is a lot, but not for a human war, that the "Variant" could have caused. For Asgard, which at its peak only had about 10K inhabitants, that is a massive hit.

These deaths not being "in the proper flow of time" makes sense, when you consider that Kid Loki was the only one to ever successfully kill Thor. (Main-Timeline Loki did it too, with the Destroyer, but Thor got better.)

My theory: Loki played that prank on Thor, but he either went too far or managed to stab something vital. Thor dies, Loki automatically becomes Crown Prince. But part of Asgard is unhappy about that ( they might or might not know what happened to Thor, but some people would be unhappy with Loki as their potential king anyway) and halve of Asgard's population dies in a civil war.

All of this would explain why Mobius got so preoccupied with studying Lokis and why he, rather then pruning TVA Loki, interrogated him. He wanted to know how this kid could be responsible for so much death. And he wanted to find something good in Loki, something worth saving, in order to assuage his guilt for not having pruned Kid Loki, to heal his "scar tissue".

Damn, I love how much sense this makes. This show is so good!

ok but that kid Mobius couldn’t prune was Loki right. like, that was Loki right. The brothers at the dock. That was Loki and Thor right. It was Loki

Mobius couldn’t kill Loki, chose his burden, and dedicated his life to him instead.

Mobius’s story started and ended with Loki. It had to be Loki.
