she has always been of the cosmos,

galaxies in her gaze, planets cradled in her palms,

starlight streaming from her skin.

but i am of flames, with infernos in my eyes.

embers smolder through my hands.

they don’t realize the soft candlelight of my skin still burns.

stars and fire only meet when worlds die.
