OCT 1 - LOGIC

I'm not apologizing for the quality because if I was actually sorry, I'd have just... done a better job. But I am acknowledging it. All the skilltober stuff from last year was just. So cool. And I could probably pull off cool too, but then I'll get burnt out, so you get a doodles scrapbook of the skills instead! (: enjoy.

Logic fails are also too funny, he refuses to take responsibility for you failing the roll.
Logic identifying a handful of skills as 'nice helpful guys' is everything to me (fyi, this list includes savoir faire, perception, visual calculus, inland empire, and volition! the bad ideas are from drama and pain threshold lmao)
Logic is also not here to make you feel better! He's responsible for 10 instances of morale damage (the highest is Inland Empire with 11) and most of them are him telling you you're stupid!
Physical instrument can call you a bad, lazy detective btw and you don't lose morale. I guess Harry thinks highly of Logic's opinion. At least on *detecting*.

Sadly. Heartbreakingly, even. We have reached the maximum number of images allowed in a post. And I had to delete so many! Because: I am extremely normal about this game, and about the skills. All of the time. (Yep! And! OCT 2 - ENCYCLOPEDIA

Encyclopedia my loveeee, he was my signature skill in my second run! He's in my top 3 skills too (though the placements and who exactly are in the top 3 are tbd)
I deleted a paragraph of self deprecating comments on this drawing three times! :) you can guess at what was in it. Fighting my sorry cop instincts.

My first playthrough I had 1 intellect and encyclopedia was. SO helpless. I couldn't pass the check to learn about the horse monument despite trying many times and ency got mean abt it >:( don't you punish me for trying. I never succeeded it haha.
Got this next one on my first day as well:
I saw Encyclopedia [Medium: Failure] followed by the options of "what is a book?", "what's a postcard?", and "what's a board... game?" and I was like ohhhh no what did I do. what have I done.
Second playthrough, I was shocked to see Harry *does* know relay code when calling his station! And that it's an Easy ency check... oops. extremely dumb harry will always have a special place in my heart.
The ency fails made me love the poor guy so much I picked him as my signature skill in my second playthrough! where he was much more useful! and never a hindrance, ever.
I love this guy.

Appreciate that pre-Martinaise encyclopedia seems to have alphabetized Harry's memories, as well as organized them by theme and period. I would do that too if I could.
I also need, desperately, to share some of encyclo's contributions to the Greatest Innocence book in case there's anyone who hasn't seen it.

ahhh Rhetoric. I hated him in my first playthrough. I became a true blue moralist in my attempts to stay away from the politics he was constantly spewing. And ended up realizing Moralism was just as extreme as the other options. Now I'm very fond of him.
He's also very fun to draw with 4 arms!! (and he's not the only skill I've given 4 arms to, these poor guys) No WIPs in this one, but i can share if anyone wants to see haha.
As usual, lots of dialogue and musings under the cut!
This exactly, is why I hated Rhetoric at first. It was all I could see in him.

inexplicable feminist rhetoric is my best friend. He doesn't care what it is, if Harry wants to stand for it rhetoric is ON BOARD. I do find it a little off-putting... but that's okay.

In my, admittedly limited, search I actually found no reference to Rhetoric advising you to say any of these things. Harry comes up with this shit all on his own!

also Rhetoric's nickname! He's called Goldmouth (or Gold Mouth) by Volition (x2) and Empathy, and Golden Mouth Man by Harry and Drama. From what I can tell, the name doesn't seem to have much meaning outside DE. But there is this mention in the Innocences book...
Perhaps it's a nickname Rhetoric gave to himself pre-Martinaise that has stuck, based off the Perikarnassian innocence? It's fun to think about.
Going to leave it there. There's a lot of other really good Rhetoric with Other Skills dialogue, but I put a lot of it in a previous post and don't want to repeat it, so it's been left out. If you read this far... you're crazy haha.

So I realize I'm late for Skilltober but I've got a LOT of stuff happening this month including rehearsals for an upcoming musical and trying to reapply to get a teaching degree. I might not even be able to finish these drawings for this month but I really wanna try and do some them anyway because I love this game and I wanna make some fan art dammit! lol Anyway, I'll try and make more but no promisesš I'm trying out a more painterly style for these so they'll resemble their in-game portraits more
