I’m very excited to say that I have set up my own small business!
I am only 16, but because of the plague I haven’t been able to get a job like some of my friends. The eventual idea is to make some items myself and then sell them, but to buy the ‘ingredients’ I need some money first! That’s why I’m selling a lot of bracelets we bought at the start of lockdown, but have never worn.

Made the first batch of keychains! All mini pride flag keychains are $1 each. I also do keychain commissions! Request a certain flag, or an entirely different design! I am currently only taking orders from people that I know in person/that I don't have to ship to, but that will change in about two months (around January '23) when I get my website up and running. At that time, I will be able to ship orders of $20 or more within the United States. There is something so weirdly satisfying about buying from small businesses and local brands that I can’t really explain,,,
Like it feels so empowering knowing that my money is going to businesses that:
Don’t exploit workers from here or from overseas
Provide the kind of service that feels more personal,,, because it’s easier to remember that you are shopping from real human beings!!!
I absolutely adore the idea that I can be able to support somebody’s dream to have their own business and also not be consciously endorsing the unethical methods of production that large companies use.
Admittedly, not all local businesses have good advocacies and not all local businesses have their customer in mind, but the beauty of it is being able to choose!!!
Especially during the pandemic, there has been a growth in the amount of online businesses, and there are so many eco-friendly and ethical options to choose from!
It just makes me so happy that even though there are so many unfortunate things happening right now, I can finally contribute to something good during these not so very good times.
