So It Begins - Tumblr Posts

So Netflix is releasing this animated movie but here’s the thing - all backgrounds are done in AI. No actual BG artists were hired or credited for this work. 

And here’s the kicker - I gave them too much credit. I realized that not even the AI users are credited apparently.

“+Human”. No names, no nothing. 

I know it’s tempting, but please don’t hate-watch this thing. Numbers equal profit even if the people watching are just doing it to mock. Don’t give Netflix and other studios even more incentive to fire more animators and replace them with machines trained on their work and skill. Hilariously, the excuse used is ‘there aren’t enough artists’. That’s not true - there are more than enough artists, but the real issue is that no one wants to pay a living wage. Here’s a short video about the reality of animation in Japan. 

The biggest winners in this equation at the end of the day are the AI infrastructure owners - owners of Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, etc. Do not feed this machine, it creates more monopolization of entire industries, raises a powerful few and dehumanizes the rest.

SECURITY AND STAFF AU [CHAPTER 1: PROLOGUE]

It’s here! The start of a new adventure and the official beginning of the Security and Staff AU. This took so long to make and it’s only the prologue but I hope you’ll stick around for more chapters! I’ll also be posting the chapters here on tumblr but also on AO3. I do recommend the AO3 version more since I won’t have to split chapters up on seperate posts due to tumblrs 30 pic limit, but also I made a cute lil banner just for AO3. And SOOOOO IT BEGINS!!!! Incest much?! Even Jensen and Jared had to realize how creepy that pose was! So gay incest is okay but just not Cass and Dean. lol. Whatever! They really should have called the finale this anyways since that is what it was all about. Cass deserves so much better…maybe it was better for him NOT to be around them in heaven!

Sleepy pokes writeblr with a stick | NoNaNo Month idea post

uh oh. people are saying that writeblr is dead again. it’s almost like we can hear the voices of the writers long gone, but they’re so faint! are they going to do nano? are they not? are they already settling in for a long winter’s nap? where have all the writers gone?

I don’t have answers for your questions. for me, I am starting to work more hours. I also am choosing not to prioritize interactions on tumblr over interactions in real life. my writing still exists in this forest even if nobody sees me. I’m still a writer, this blog is still a writeblr, but there are phases to the moon and to all parts of life. quietude is not an invalid state of being.

but! if, say, you were looking for some tumblr interaction, then perhaps I have a solution for you. introducing:

NoNaNo Month - a month long endeavor to do writerly things and not necessarily prioritize word count and progress (though that is welcome and applauded)

each week will have a theme and one additional caveat, in case your brain refuses to dress up like everybody else at the party.

Week One:

we love each other! so let’s say it! pop into people’s asks and tell them things you like about their writing, ask them random stuff about their characters, just drop off a bunch of emojis, maybe offer a cheesy joke. I know a lot of us are shy and hesitant to approach strangers, so use anon if you need to. but the best way to promote interaction is to take a deep breath and interact. most of us are fluffballs. you needn’t be scared.

Week Two:

we love our wips! post a bunch of random stuff about the project you’re working on, the project you’re not, the cliché story you wrote as a kid, the set of characters who don’t belong to a story, the fanfic that you needed to exist, fanfic you wrote of your own wips, dialogue or prose you’re proud of, the chaos your characters create, or anything else that is in relation to your wips wherein you are not required to write something new first. just show us your stuff!

Week Three:

writing aside! adjacent stuff that isn’t really writing but you’re interested in, or worldbuilding rabbit holes that you fell down, things you enjoy doing that stimulate you and allow you to be productive, the music you’re listening to, the cooking you’ve been trying, the homework that’s been killing you, the family conversations that are making you cringe. tell us about you, the writer, and especially about you, the person, when you’re not writing.

Week Four:

stats! if you like those. but not just about writing. about your job, your schoolwork, your mental health, your physical health, the realizations you’ve had about your writing or your schedule or your social life, the advice you took in, the advice you’d like to give out, general thoughts about being a human in the life you are living. or your word counts. your characters that keep appearing. your number of wips. your worldbuilding notes that don’t made sense. anything.

you are a writer and you want to hang out with writers, but we are all also people and so you are hanging out with people. so let’s be people who are writers and interact like that.

all interaction is optional. you could only do two of the weeks, you could post every day if you wanted and were inspired to. do this as you can, as you're able, as you like.

[nanowrimo participants are also welcome. nobody is excluded. we are all people writers.]

Something that makes me sad is the idea that love can never last. That, no matter how perfect a relationship is or how in love they are, someone will always leave. Whether voluntarily or not.

There is a reason why marriage vows say 'til death do us part', and that hurts me to think about.

But, I take solace in the idea of an afterlife or perhaps reincarnation. The idea that, perhaps one day, they will be reunited again. Perhaps as spirits or new people in another life. Love will begin anew, like the sun rising to begin a new day.

Howdy folks

I have been lurking around Tumblr for years (in a not creepy way I promise I just think y’all are neat), but never posted anything because,,, I’m scared of being perceived and never know where to start, BUT I’ve been having some revelations lately and I have decided to care less so here we are I guess! My goal for 2020 is to worry less about perfection and focus instead on progress, so hopefully having this space to kind of just exist and create with my thoughts and hyperfixations will be a Good Time™️
