applying for university clearing courses. kill me.

saturday june 10th - exam week 2
winter has arrived on campus, and in typical melburnian fashion so has the puffer jackets.
plan for this week is to study for my upcoming database exam. I have one week left and a semesters worth of content to get through. pain.
🎧 on repeat: Please Be Angry - Pierz Barry
Plan for exam revision:
Go over the content
Make notes on the content, making sure to include an index for each topic
Do the practise and weekly quizzes
Go over the lab and tutorial material
Do the practise exams
Mark the exams and highlight areas of weakness
Review and practise those areas
So far this is the go to plan on starting revision. Let's hope I stick to it! Plus this is my first study blr post! Mostly doing this to keep track of my studies!

tuesday 20th june - post exam
best part of the day was getting free mandarins outside of my exam venue. mandarins on a cold day? peak.
the plan I had for this week didn't work. at all. I spent majority of last week procrastinating and this week making notes. I really underestimated the amount of notes i had to make for this subject, wrote a total of 30k works in a week. it's the most i have written ever, really got me wondering how the people on ao3 do it so well.

Things to do during break:

Volunteer as Mentor - Thursday 22th june
Organise next week's event
Prepare Run Melbourne Volunteer list
Make class time table for next semester
Edit CV
Find and apply for internships
Find a good part time job

So far this is the plan. I'm sure there'll be more I have a do and even more that I won't get around to do. But this break I really want to prioritise my rest and hobbies, and time with my family and friends!
2nd studyblr post!!

tuesday 25th july - life update
I'm taking a leave from uni this semester. I really need time to figure out if this is really what I want so I don't any lose more money to this degree. I'm currently working in a warehouse until september-ish to save up some money and then my mum and I are going overseas for 2 months. Uni started yesterday for those attending and I really want to go back cause warehouse work is tough!!

sunday december 31st - 3 days before uni
Caution: long post
after a long but very fulfilling leave of absence, I'm back. I spent the last 6 months working in a warehouse and then went on a month holiday with my mum. Had some of the best time of my life but came back with mono, so I was sick for the past month. And now uni is starting in 3 days and idk how to feel about it. My last one and a half year at uni is kind of a blur and not very like-the-films experience. I made hardly one acquaintance/friend at uni and failed most of my subjects. My WAM is currently a failing WAM and idk if this is the right career path for me.
Nonetheless, I'm here with this degree and I'm going to try very best in it. I want to graduate with a good WAM so that I can get into a masters program at my current uni.
I'm going to do one subject before normal classes commence because I'm so behind on my uni schedule that i need to take classes in the holidays to graduate kinda on time
So I'm going to take linear algebra for 2 months and while taking that I'm going to do a one month security course to help me get a better part time job
Plan for how to improve my grades next year:
Before class
Do pre reading
If no pre readings review lecture slides for upcoming lecture
During class
take notes e.g. edit lecture slides
Pay attention to what the professor highlights and repeats
After class
Review class
Makes notes on lecture
Review again next day
Review in a week
Weekends
Spend Saturday and Sunday going over lecture materials for the week and also working on assignment and missed homework and practise questions

I did not need to be called out this hard hours before a deadline on a software engineering project 😭
I'm not built for an office job. I'm built for fucking and sucking and moaning and arching my back and having my hole demolished and feeling so many hands on me at once. That and computers I guess.
