So I just realised that after the whole thing with Elspeth and Wee Morag, Aziraphale doesn’t see Crowley for ages, and when he does, Crowley is asking for none other than a literal suicide pill. And Aziraphale doesn’t have much context, to him it seems like Crowley just helped a young girl trying to kill herself, made a nice speech about it, and then shows up a few decades or more later (it’s too late/early to look up the dates) suddenly wanting the very thing he just stopped.

With how much Aziraphale likes denial, or at least vocal denial, I feel like they’ve talked about Crowley’s suicidal thoughts before, and Aziraphale’s thinking “I thought he’d been in a better place mentally” or something. Plus Zira doesn’t seem to make the connection that Crowley was tortured, in his diary he just says “and I didn’t see him for a while” and while we don’t have the entire scene, and the Ducks scene might not be their first meeting since Edinburgh, Aziraphale doesn’t even ask if he’s okay, no pleasantries, no conversation, just straight gaily forward to the point.

I don’t think this makes any sense but it’s like 3:30am and I still haven’t eaten dinner.
