It took the team 3 days and almost their entire stock to get to the nearest city, El Rapids. Once they had heard the cry of, "land ho!" from Foolish, the crew was buzzing with happiness that they would be done living off of basically scraps. As they docked, they were all given assignments by Dream. Sapnap, being the co-captain, was responsible for making sure the ship was tied down accordingly. As he was tying and checking the ropes that led to the dock, he saw something out of the corner of his eye, or more, someone.
Sapnap hadn't seen such a man, let alone anyone so beautiful as who he saw. The man was lanky and tall, with curly brown hair that was tied up in a purple handkerchief in his hair. He was waving to everyone and was alive with chatter as he tried to get people to buy the flowers from his cart.
Sapnap quickly snapped out of his daze when he felt the rope he was about to tie start to pull him to the edge of the dock. He quickly tied it and the remaining ropes to the dock before walking, more rushing, to the beautiful man.
"oh, hello there! What brings you here traveler?" the man said to Sapnap with bright eyes.
"well i uh, i uhm, i, wait. How did you know i was a traveler?" Sapnap stumbled before questioning the taller male.
"El Rapids is a small town, everyone knows everyone in it! Its pretty easy to pick out a traveler from a sea of familiar faces," the man grinned at Sapnap, "would you like some flowers? I grew them myself!"
"uhm, sure!" Sapnap said, reaching to his side for his money pouch.
"so who do you want the flowers for?" the man said, "and what kind of message do you want to send? Flowers are beautiful but they also have meanings! For instance, if its for a lover, you could go for some flowers like Aster, symbol of love and daintyness, Calla Lily, beauty, red and white Camellia, red meaning You're a flame in my heart and white meaning You're adorable, or just a red rose, meaning I love you. Of course you can always get flowers for other people like your mom! You could get her some Daylily, which is actually the Chinese emblem for mother, or if its for your friend you could get them some Aborvite, which means unchanging friendship." thd man went on and on, rambling about the different meanings of flowers, and Sapnap just listened, staring at the beautiful man and just admiring him. "so what kind of message are you trying to send?" the man concluded, looking at the star struck pirate.
"uhm!" Sapnap said as he relized he was staring, "could you maybe do a bouquet that means 'love at first sight?'" he asked the taller male.
"sure!" he said, quickly grabbing flowers from the cart and explaining them as he bundled them with some twine, "purple roses are what you need! They are always known for love at first sight and are such a beautiful flower too!"
The man then gives Sapnap the flowers and tells him the price. As Sapnap pays, he asks: "by the way, whats your name?"
"my name?" the man asks, "its Karl! Karl Jacobs! Why?"
"oh no reason, just wanted to know what the beautiful man's name was," Sapnap said as he gave the flowers back to Karl, "you can keep the money by the way!" he said as he ran off to the ship, a single purple rose in hand.
