Soralian - Tumblr Posts
Don’t mind me, just making a blog for my superpowered technicolor hybrid furries. No biggie, just sliding this in here
The Fittest is an extraordinary place, where fuzzy, scaly, and feathered things, known broadly as ambigens, coexist happily… or, as the case may be, rather unhappily. In a land where unique abilities and primal instincts are left virtually unchecked, violence and strife run rampant. Some may survive intact, though whether physically or mentally, no one is to say. Some, though… may not. Only the fittest by chance can thrive in such a world, for better, or for worse.
Though thousands upon millions of denizens call this warped version of Earth their home, our story largely focuses on Lubenica, a Soralian ambigen who has the unique ability to obtain anything she desires through the potent power of suggestion. Anything she wishes, she can bend her peers to her will so she can achieve it, through eye contact and honeyed words alone. But, as one may learn, what one wants and what one needs are two very different things. As she meets all sorts of interesting characters, will she grow to welcome them as equals, or will she remain on her path of mutually assured self-destruction?
Although Luben is the focus of the tale, this blog is most definitely not! Worldbuiding, artwork, character concepts, social structure, and character studies are abound on this blog! Anything you wish to know, ask and ye shall receive! All the lore and backstory your heart desires!
Now come. Come interact with the pastel furries

Behold the main quartet!
First up, we have our protagonist, Luben.
Being a dual carnivore (a feared/respected status marker in a mixed-diet society), as well as having a rather convenient ability, has made her quite accustomed to getting her way. When she doesn’t get it, trouble is sure to follow, as she will go to great lengths to get what she wants. Otherwise, she is quite a laid-back individual with seemingly little to offer. Only time will tell if anything, or anyone, is capable of curbing her attitude problem.
Next, we have one of our deuteragonists, Meysha.
A rather kind and charming individual with a mischievous streak, although that charm, along with her short stature, cute appearance, and general ditziness have made it difficult for her to get people to take her seriously. Nobody really knows what her unique power is; even she isn’t quite sure herself. If she knows it, she sure can’t remember it. Luben has taken quite an interest in her as of late, and the attraction is certainly mutual. Whether this high risk has a high reward to offer is anyone’s guess.
Next up is Maslov!
Maslov is in an open relationship with Meysha. Though he may look scary, he’s actually a big anxious softie at heart. He’d do whatever it takes to protect those close to him, and he has his reservations in allowing someone like Luben so close to Meysha. But maybe, just maybe, he can make Luben think twice about doing anything unsavory on his watch. And hopefully they won’t always be butting heads.
And to finish off our group, we have Theizi.
A prosthetic manufacturer by trade, she may have gone a little overboard in creating her own augmentations (or perhaps it’s part of a marketing campaign). A rather witty woman with a unique past, and quite a complex history with our protagonist. There’s far more to Theizi than meets the eye, and with her and Luben’s interesting dynamic, her presence is sure to muddle an already complicated situation, for better or for worse.
Of course, the cast of The Fittest is vast, reaching far beyond these four. Questions are more than welcome!
Roxam
A sweet waitress at the carnivore-friendly restaurant the cast often frequents, and a long-time friend and client to Theizi. Mostly keeping to herself, it’s easy to miss her, which means she’s the ideal go-to if you want to know the gossip and goings-on around town. She may be part bunny, but she isn’t one to be trifled with… not that anyone would dream of bothering the person who makes sure they get their protein fix.
Maitea
A charismatic young woman with a flirtatious streak. She’s never seen with the same person twice, and yet she maintains a loyal reputation. She never cheats; she simply cycles through women like there’s no tomorrow. She has no known relation to the main cast, but that may just be because she makes a point to avoid them. Then again, nobody has seen much of her in quite a while…
Rosli
A sweet but facetious woman who works as a fitness instructor at Vestige and Prestige, a gym geared towards ambigens with missing or underdeveloped anatomical structures (such as incomplete wings or missing toes) to encourage quality-of-life habits. He’s got a plan and an attitude for everybody, which makes him well-liked among his peers, students and otherwise. Despite his approachable demeanor, he’s got a holier-than-thou egotistical streak that makes it hard for him to make and keep meaningful connections. Vestige and Prestige isn’t quite how it used to be without him there to teach, because nobody seems to do it quite like he does.
Rosk
An upstanding enough fellow with an unfortunate habit, and an even more unfortunate ability. When unaltered, any flux of emotion sends him into a feral state that cannot be talked down or reasoned with; oftentimes he can’t even be restrained. The aftermath of this state always leaves him exhausted and nearly catatonic for days on end. Though not usually violent, Rosk is wary of his condition to the point that he turned to depressants in an attempt to numb his feelings, or at least the undesired side effect of them. Despite this, he operates just fine, even though there are some out there who would prefer him helpless to his addiction.
A couple of politicians
The newly-appointed mayor of Chiclawgo, Zefra is a man dedicated to making his city a pleasant and livable place for all (though admittedly a significant percentage of his votes are only due to his resemblance to a Piskavian). Though his ability serves him well in gauging support to the policies he proposes, he’s determined to be transparent and clean in his duties as mayor. However, such a thing often proves difficult in an inherently corrupt business, and as someone entirely new to the field, no one is really certain if he has what it takes to lead his people.
Though Klanta wished to be mayor himself, he’s since ended up as Zefra’s deputy and secretary. And with the discovery that the toxin he secretes has a calming effect in small doses (and smells like fruit), he’s recently also become Zefra’s personal stress ball. Though not a comfortable or painless experience, Klanta gets paid well for the treatment, so he can’t complain… much.

Two Besties
As someone who just barely skated through school, Baska hasn’t put much thought into what she wants to do next. It isn’t that she lacks ambition; she simply can’t stay conscious or focused long enough to consider in-depth what she wants to do with her life. Though her expression comes across as condescending to many, she’s actually quite a lovely person. She can usually be seen loitering near shopping centers, looking for any stores (and careers) that catch her eye, alongside her best friend.
Having grown up alongside Baska, these two are practically joined at the hip; Ponbay affectionately refers to them as “cresties.” Their friendship is so mutually ingrained, one would be forgiven for thinking they were an item (in actuality, they prefer to call it a queerplatonic friendship). In stark contrast to her friend, Ponbay is loud, upbeat, and heavily extroverted. Her chipper personality, appearing shallow on the surface, hides an inquisitive mind with an eye for detail. She one day hopes to go to school to become a psychotherapist, although she abhors the methods the industry currently employs.
Hyderus
Hyderus is a floater, going from friend’s house to friend’s house and working the occasional odd job. Their hope is to one day become a renowned barber and stylist, and they often like to practice techniques on their friends. They’re very prideful of their own fur, almost to the point of vanity, and most money they make goes into its care; without its intensive routine, Hyderus risks starving to death due to the nutritional demand the fur takes on their body. They don’t like to talk about their past, but it’s pretty much an open secret throughout Chiclawgo that they may or may not have escaped a cult.
Because we need more wet and pathetic women (quite literally in this case)
Some know her as a walking septic nightmare. The children like to call her “the booger lady.” But there isn’t a single resident of Chiclawgo who doesn’t know her by her local nickname: Drip. Nobody knows her real name, or anything else about her, for that matter. She couldn’t be bothered to tell anyone her life story, and nobody has the guts to approach her and try asking. Some believe that she must have gone through something terrible to make her the miserable recluse that she is. Others suspect that nothing happened at all, and that she’s simply always been a bitter, crotchety old bitch. All anyone knows is that, despite her appearance suggesting rampant illness and lack of self-care, it’s merely an unfortunate side effect of her ability (with some wondering if this is what fuels her ire). She otherwise appears to be as healthy as a horse, and it’s rumored that she will one day outlive all of us.
Haven't been posting much lately, but I DID do some animating. So here, have a walk cycle doubling as a small Theizi redesign.
I was advised to shorten the dress so that her legs could always be visible, with which I agree wholeheartedly. Additionally, I shortened her hair while still keeping the mane, because for some reason long wavy hair is a pain to draw on her. Still, I've been really liking the shorter cut!
