Challenge 57: One Page Comic - Dying my Hair
This was such a fun and challenging theme for me! I adore sequential work and really look up to a lot of artists within that field, visual story telling is such a complex thing. So I’m always excited to get a challenge/prompt that gives me a chance to stretch those comic makin’ muscles ;D
But yeah, I decided to go with a light subject matter, showing the first time I dyed my hair ( which was somewhat recent and verrrrryyy memorable XD ).
Hoping to revisit it sometime soon and slap some colors on it!

Challenge 60: Travel: Red eyes and Layovers
When we got the theme ‘Travel’ my brain immediately went to the countless layovers and red eyes that I’ve sat through. All I can really say is thank God for Starbucks and my iPhone for making that wait a little less excruciating. 💖

LOVED working on this collaboration with my girl Sayada!!! 💖
Challenge 61: QDC ‘Future’ Collaboration: STYLTRON3000
I was lucky enough to get paired up on this challenge with my friend/ crazy talented illustrator, Sayada Ramdial. Since our theme was ‘future’ we both came to the conclusion that it’d be fun to focus on the future of hair! And to give it a twist, Sayada came up with the idea of a 'Stylebot’ ( evolves into STYLTRON3000 with the use of a moon stone ) that operated like hair styling apps you can download, except this one could actually change your hair for you. In the spirit of the app we decided to make it a gif, cycling through different hair styles!
Work wise: The initial sketch was done by Sayada, it was passed off to me for inks, then back to Sayada for colors, and then back to me for final edits. We were also responsible for 2 unique hairstyles each.

Challenge 62: Idioms: Dressed to Kill
Took me a while to find the perfect idiom but when I came across ‘Dressed To Kill’ it all just fell into place. At first I was really tempted to do a more fanciful piece but ultimately decided to go with a more literal interpretation of it, an assassin ( Natasha and Katarina’s love child apparently). I also used this challenge to try out a new coloring method as well as a darker palette. It was pretty difficult for me but really rewarding in the end.

Challenge 63: Childhood: Bambi
Early on in my childhood I had two pet rabbits, one was named Thumper and the other ( a dwarf breed ) was Bambi. I was completely obsessed with them, sitting in the backyard whenever my dad would let them out for the day. They were generally pretty skittish too, preferring to dig holes and be on their own. So you could imagine my glee when Bambi would decide to lay in the grass next to me. I would spend that special time together petting her gently and adorning her precious head with pink petals.

Challenge 64: Stream of Consciousness: Hot Pink Mess
This challenge came at the perfect time for me! Just finished up some monster deadlines and recently acquired a cintiq that needed to be broken in! I went 100% digital on this piece (which is a rarity for me). It’s still pretty loose and unrefined in certain areas but I really dig the colors I ended up with ( I can’t even begin to explain how many versions I went through XD ).

Challenge 66: They Draw and Travel: New York
Just got back from my first trip to New York so it was a no brainer I’d want to do a map of that!
A LOT of fantastical things in the city but I chose to hi-light my top 6 favorite spots I came across while visiting. Ippudo (Best ramen I’ve ever had)/ The Museum of Sex/ The Shubert Theatre (Matilda)/ The Belasco Theatre (Hedwig and the Angry Inch)/ Hatsuhana (Best sushi I’ve ever had)/ and Wafles and Dinges ( Best nutella, strawberry, ice cream, waffle sandwich I’ve ever had). Basically they had the best food ever ;P

Challenge 69: A Good Cause: Fall In Love!!
As soon as I saw Casey’s prompt I knew I wanted to do something for Dekalb County Animal Services’ Free Adoption promotion running through October. They’re an amazing organization that does so much for local animals and it was nice to create something to give back to them (as well as get the word out about it!).
If you’re local to Dakalb County and were seriously considering adoption, you should definitely give them a visit!
* But yeah, design wise, I kept all the existing information and just cleaned it up a bit and then provided a new image. I also wanted to play up the whole ‘Fall in love’ aspect of their advertisements. Hope y'all enjoy!

Newest piece for @squarecarousel, our theme this time around was ‘The Sea’.
Challenge 70: The Sea: Rework
So this one was pretty interesting for me. Wanted to rework an old concept I had for one of my college courses but ended up only keeping the basic composition. And then we have the coloring, was gunna do something fun/ vibrant/ and clean but swayed to a grittier/ muted palette. If anything my concept and treatment of this piece changed like the constant back and forth motion of the oceans waves.
There are one or two things I may like to change, but I really like the feel of this piece.
*tweaked some things, a lot happier with it! However, it’s definitely feeling a bit over worked so I’m leaving it alone ;P

Challenge 72: Then, Now: February
So this one was pretty fun! Decided to revisit the illustration I did for Challenge 19! I started off by reworking the face and hair to better match my current drawing style. I then worked on the environment and lighting, that’s what really brought the drawing together for me 💜
*Went ahead and included a lil’ process gif!

Challenge 75: Freebie: Batgirl of Burnside!
Issue 50 of Batgirl came out today and it’s the last issue that @babsdraws, @cameron-stewart, and @brendenfletcher worked on as a team! I wanted to create a little tribute piece to thank them for their all around awesomeness and for getting tons of new readers, myself included, into the Batgirl franchise! ☺️ Oddly enough I’ve had this sketch lying around since they announced the series but never finished it! I figured it was the perfect time to revisit it and wrap it all up!
