Y'all I ordered All Quiet on the Western Front because I've read it just once and back then I didn't really like the book because I had to read for school.
But now I wanna read it again also because I don't remember that Paul specifically said he sees Kat as his father. (I saw people use this as an argument against people who said he loves Kat - like if it literally wasn't in the book.) I think it's just something that reader assumed, because I definitely know Paul admitted that he loves Kat, his body and felt about their relationship like it's something more than two lovers have. And I don't think that's how he would think about him if he saw him only as a father figure. It would be also kind weird imo lol.

I like how people who defended Paul's and Stanislaus's relationship as father and son or two brothers so much, would definitely ship them if one of them was the opposites gender.

From the first time I've read the book, I knew that Paul definitely didn't see Kat as a friend and there's literally written that he loves Kat. 🤧
I know why some people don't like this ship and why it is a taboo, but it's still only a ship of two consenting adults from a book.
