after that horrible night with chris, you decided it was time to force yourself to move on. and you really didn’t enjoy it.
at first you were a mess without him, he was all that you knew. even when you guys were in no contact, that would only last for about a few days.
but the days turned into weeks
and the weeks turned into months.
its been three months since youve been attempting to heal from chris. and you were doing good.
you got back into routine, no longer rotting in your bed all day. you started taking care of yourself more and putting yourself first.
you even began dating again. your best friend larray helped you get back into the dating world and now here you were.
cuddled up on the couch with your now boyfriend, nate. at first you didn’t know nate was chris’s best friend, that didn’t come to light until after you two started dating. you were curious as to who nate’s so called best friend was, and who he kept mentioning all the time.
to say the least, your stomach fell to your ass when you all went to top golf, only to realize nate’s best friend was chris.
since you and chris never made your relationship known to his brothers, or anyone, nobody knew you two were involved with one another. chris could only watch as you fell in love with his best friend and as he fell behind.
“y/n.”
you looked up at nate, being brought back from your thoughts. he smiled and brought you closer into his side, before planting a kiss on the side of your head.
“sorry nate, what were you saying?”
“i was telling you about the trip nick has planned.” your face contorted in confusion. ‘trip?’ you didn’t know about any trip. “nick didn’t tell me anything about it.” you mumble, sorta upset your best friend didn’t keep you in loop about this.
“he wanted me to tell you sweetheart, ‘cus he said you never answer texts quick.” nate chuckled at the last part, knowing that nick sorta had a point. you smiled a long with him, agreeing quietly.
“so who’s going on this trip.” you asked while reaching for the bowl of popcorn, rested on the coffee table in front of you.
“well the triplets, madi, then you and me.” he counted the people off his fingers, making sure he mentioned everyone.
you stopped your chewing on the popcorn before asking. “all the triplets?”
nate slowly nodded. you knew that was a dumb question, of course chris was going to be there.
“wait, where are we even going.”
“Miami.”

“y/n why is your bag so fucking heavy!?” nick shrieked while trying to pick it up to place it on the airports scale.
“yeah, it’s like bursting at the seams,” madi added while chuckling, half amused, and half concerned.
“hey, you said we’re staying for three days, thats like..” your voice trailed off as you counted in your head. “nine outfits!”
the group around you busted out laughing at your problem for overpacking. well all except for you know who.
after that you all made your way through the airport in attempts to find your gate. once you found it, matt and nate agreed to sit with the luggage as you, nick, chris, and madi go find something to eat.
nick and madi wanted sandwiches while you and chris found yourselves at the dunkin donuts.
“are you happy?” you heard chris mumble from behind you as you were trying to pick what you wanted to eat from the menu.
you turned around to face him. “what?”
“are you happy? with nate?” chris asked again before shoving his hands in the front pockets of his sweatpants. the question made your heart race, he still cared? not only that but it seemed to have been killing him too. part of you felt guilty that you were happy chris still cared, but you couldn’t show that, besides you had nate now.
“yes chris, i’m very happy.” you made to to put emphasis on the ‘very’ so that he could take a hint, even if that hint was a lie, and you’re sure he did as he stayed silent the whole time you all made your way back to matt and nate.
“hey, baby i got you something.” you say as you took your seat next to nate, handing him a breakfast bagel and a water bottle.
“what would i do without you.” nate smiled as he planted a kiss on your face. the whole group made fake gagging noises and faces at the sight of it, but were somewhat amused with how happy you and nate seemed.
but chris? he was far from amused. he was dying on the inside. he knew that could’ve been him, not nate. he knew he couldve been the one your eyes lit up at in every moment. and he knew at some point he was, before he fucked everything up.
the months without you were excruciating for chris. he regretted all his actions that ever pained you in any way. he contemplated showing up at your house some nights, begging for your forgiveness.
when he found out you were dating nate it was like the whole world shattered around him. he thought maybe this how you felt through the whole time you two were together, and it felt horrible.
“chris what’s your problem? we’re about to leave.” nick asks as he claps his hands in front of his brothers face, trying to snap him out of his daze.
chris’s eyes met yours as you were staring at him with an unreadable expression.
did you miss him too?
he didn’t know, but he did know that he was going to find out by the end of this trip.

waking up in your hotel room, you were greeted by the emptiness of your shared bed, where your boyfriend was supposed to be. maybe it was how many times chris had left before you could wake up in the past, but you didn’t bat an eyelash to this.
instead you shuffled out of bed and proceeded to get ready for the day. you had landed in Miami last night, and everyone was filled with jet lag, ready to knock out for the night.
nick had told everyone to be down in the lobby by 12 PM, so you could all start the activities he and madi had planned. it was now 11:30, so you assumed everyone was already down and just waiting on you.
so quickly, you got ready and took the elevator there.
to your surprise it was just chris in the lobby. he was never the type to wake up early so this confused you.
“good morning.” chris mumbled while softly smiling. you returned the smile and greeted him as well, even more lost as to why he was being so friendly.
“where’s nate?” you asked while taking a seat across from chris.
chris shrugs before getting up to sit beside you.“don’t know, didn’t see him.”
“what are you doing?” you eyed the brunette suspiciously, as he moved himself closer. chris said nothing but gently took one of your hands in his. caressing it gently before bringing it up to his lips to softly plant a kiss.
“chris-”
before you could protest chris cuts you off. “you’re not really happy with him, are you?” he asked while searching your eyes for anything. anything that showed him you weren’t as secure as you played to be in your relationship.
“chris what are you talking about?” you say before snapping your hand away from his. you were furious. what gave him the right to question your relationship? who was he to be ‘concerned’?
before this conversation could progress, nick and madi had made their way down from their rooms and greeted the both of you.
soon after nate and matt joined you all and off you were to your adventures.

“are you guys really gonna sit there and tan?!” nick shouts from the water.
after getting some breakfast and letting that digest, you all made your way to your resorts beach.
you and madi had decided to sit in the sun for some more before getting in the water with the boys. “be there in a sec!” madi shouts back from her towel.
as for you, you were catching up with some of your summer readings. you could feel madi’s eyes prying at you so you set your book down and looked at her.
“what’s up?”
“i should be asking you that.” madi chuckles while sitting up on her elbows. “you and chris?”
you awkwardly cleared your throat at the sudden mention of the brunette. “what do you mean?” you ask as innocently as you could.
“cmon y/n. you don’t have to hide from me. i am one of your best friends after all.”
you sighed before also sitting up. thats when you opened up completely about whats been going on between you and chris. madi was the first person you ever really told.
as for madi, she was upset as to how chris was treating you but could also see that with the way you spoke about him, your feelings never really vanished.
“and nate’s a great guy but..”
“you still love chris?” madi muttered, finishing your thought. you slowly nodded your head before sighing in frustration.
“i don’t know why madi. he’s such an asshole but for some reason i cant get over him completely.” you say while fighting back the tears that were threatening to spill. in all honesty you weren’t the best without chris. you liked to pretend you were, but you were a mess of emotions waiting to explode.
madi quickly embraces you in a tight hug. “its okay, love is really fucking weird.” you chuckled at her statement before pulling away from her grasp while saying thank you.
after your talk, you both made your way to the waters where the boys were playing, happily splashing in the waters and tossing each other around. this was what you needed.
once you made it back to your hotel room, you knew what you had to do. no more lying to yourself, and no more pretending.
nate came out of the shower to find you sat at the edge of the bed, seemingly waiting for something. your bags had been packed and organized near the door.
nate knew what was happening. “you still love him, don’t you?” he sighed while drying his hair off with a towel. he took a seat beside you. you were shocked at his statement to say the least.
“you..you knew?” nate only nodded and tossed his towel to the side.
“chris told me everything when we were coming back to the hotel, and everything then made sense.” nate explained while fidgeting with his hands.
you couldn’t shake the feeling of guilt that coursed through your body as you looked at nate. he further explained how he saw your quick glances at chris, and how you would always wonder if he would be around.
“im really sorry, nate. it just kinda all came back to me.” you say while awkwardly shrugging. not really knowing what to say.
“don’t be, i get it.” he said while running his fingers through his hair. “i take it you’re gonna go see him?” he says while pointing to your bags. you nodded before you stood up. nate did as well. before leaving the room, you both exchanged one last hug before you made your way to chris’ room.
when you arrived, you knocked three times. chris eventually swung the door open and froze up at the sight of you.
“you were right.” was all you said before you both met in the middle and exchanged a long awaited passionate kiss, not missing a beat. chris’ hands traveled to your waist before pulling you inside and closing the door to his room not once breaking the kiss with you.
your hands traveled against each other. you both melted into each others touch, not wanting this moment to end. but eventually you broke the kiss and looked into chris’ eyes.
“im scared. im scared to trust you again.” you mumbled. chris ran his hands from your shoulders, all the way down to your elbows before caressing them.
“i know, and i know ive said this a million times but m’ sorry y/n.” chris planted a kiss on your forehead before continuing. “when you were with nate i felt horrible. and i felt horrible for treating you the way i did. i never that you’d be back here but i promise to be better, for us.”
you softly smiled and wrapped your arms around chris’ waist. he hugged you back and rested his head against yours.
maybe this was your happy ending.
maybe chris would be better this time.
or maybe,

you couldn’t deny it anymore. and you dont think it went unnoticed either.
the lingering gazes, to the more than normal laughter at his jokes, or the constant acts of service. how you were willing to do anything for him. just him.
matthew sturniolo.
you thought your constant need to be near him was just you wanting to be better friends. that was until your feelings started growing stronger.
“y/n, helloo.”
you brought your attention to the voice you found yourself loving so much.
“sorry, what?”
“i asked if you could pass the remote.” matt repeated while settling down beside you on the couch. you nodded and reached over to grab the remote to hand it to him. it was around 1 AM, and it was just the two of you. nick and chris had went to their rooms while you and matt decided to watch a movie.
“want me to get you a blanket?” you whispered as matt stared at the screen to the opening of the movie.
“no, im good.” matt says. you nodded and turned your head towards the movie. about five minutes or so passed when you asked another question.
“hungry?”
“nope.” matt responds, adding a ‘pop’ to the p to exaggerate his response. you mumbled an ‘okay’. a few beats of silence passed before once again, you asked.
“are you sure-”
“y/n, please m’ just trying to watch the movie in peace.” matt sighed. he was getting frustrated by the second. after a long day of filming with his relatively loud brothers, the only sounds he wanted to hear were the actors on the tv.
but this was only one example of your persistence. you were always clung to matt’s side. following him like a lost puppy at all times.
always there to cook him up a meal after his long day, willing to do any of his chores that he just didn’t feel like doing, even soothing him to sleep on those tough nights where everything went blank.
nick would sometimes make fun of matt. it almost seemed like you were his mother with the way you acted. but thats not what you were trying to come off as. you simply just had a lot of love for the boy that you weren’t really ready to confess yet.
but for matt? he didn’t see your clinginess as a good thing, in fact he began to hate it once nick pointed it out.
on one particular day matt decided to bring it up to his brothers while they were in nick’s room.
“i just don’t get it, like she’s just always there.” matt says while pacing around the room.
“is that a bad thing?” nick asks while organizing the clothes in his closet.
“i mean it wouldn’t be if she didn’t act like im some sort of child.” matt sighed while plopping down at the edge of the bed.
“i dunno, i’d love to have someone like y/n. she literally does everything for you bro.” chris laughs while slightly nudging matt.
“yeah..” nick yells from his closet. “don’t know why you’re bitchin’ bout it she’s literally helps you with like…” nick took a pause to think. “everything!”
matt scoffs before shaking his head. “yeah well it’s nice before it gets fucking unbearable.”
unbeknownst to matt, you could hear this whole conversation. you had came to drop off some food for the triplets, and since you had an extra key you went straight in. now you would’ve made yourself known until you realized you were the topic of their conversation.
to say you were hurt from matts words was an understatement. you quickly rushed out of the house, tears streaming down your face recounting every scenario where you were overbearing.

hours turned into days and days turned into weeks. matt hadn’t heard from you in a while. he expected to wake up to your daily morning texts, but nothing. after he shrugged that off he expected you to come over like you usually did. but once again, you didn’t.
he found himself longing for your presence more than he ever did.
you both went no contact until you came over, seeking nicks assistance since you had a date that night in hopes that your little crush on matt would subside.
you had went the whole time without speaking to the brunette. opting for a simple ‘hey’. matt was confused. why were you suddenly so distant? sure he wanted space at times but this is not what he had in mind.
matt finally snapped when you attempted rushing out their house, bidding matt goodbye with a meek ‘see ya’.
matt rose from his spot on the catch before making his way towards you. “are you gonna tell me what’s going on, or are you gonna keep avoiding me?” matt said while crossing his arms on his chest.
you could only roll your eyes before slipping your shoes on. “i dont know what you’re talking about, but i have to go.” you spat harshly before spinning on your heel.
“woah, what’s up with you?” matt yelled, shocked at your sudden anger towards him. he pulled you back by your wrist so you could face him.
“y’know if you found me ‘overbearing’ you could’ve just told me.”
thats when everything came back to matt. instant regret washed over him as he gazed upon your solemn expression. the same eyes that used to hold so much adoration for him now hollow.
“i’m so sorry y/n. i know theres no excuse to what i said but i was just being stupid.” matt sighed while running a hand down his face. “you’re far from overbearing, in fact i...i really miss you.”
“really?” you mumbled while your facial expression softened. matt nodded before embracing you in a tight hug to which you reciprocated by wrapping your arms around his waist. your date long forgotten.
“you’re amazing the way you are, and im sorry if i made it seem any other way.”
you smiled at matts words before leaning up to look at him. “just tell me next time, okay?” matt smiled and lightly pecked the side of your temple. happy to have finally gotten you back.

NEW YORK CITY - m. sturniolo headcanons

♡ - you were so excited that matt was visiting the city, since you live there and you guys are long distance.
♡ - he visits around winter time so there’s beautiful lights up all around and it’s slightly snowing.
♡ - he got lost finding his way to your apartment, but eventually he got there.
♡ - first trip without nick and chris so he was feeling a bit overwhelmed but seeing you calmed him down immensely.
♡ - you guys spend time catching up before venturing off into the city.
♡ - during his stay he makes sure to see the tree at the rockerfeller center.
♡ - you take matt to you favorite cafe so you two could have brunch. he enjoys it but bro is amazed by the cost of a fucking sandwich in nyc.
♡ - definitely brings his camera along so he can take photos of you for the gram (hes obsessed)
♡ - takes this opportunity to do a vlog on his channel featuring you ofc, but wont edit it until he’s back home since he wants to spend all his time with you.
♡ - he lets you drag him around to all the stores / places on your organized list for his visit.
♡ - you guys got tickets to a museum but it was just matt being like “i could make that” 💀
♡ - HATESSS the subway. if you guys couldn’t find any seats he would def shield you while holding onto the metal bars.
♡ - if there was an open seat he’d let you take it. your comfort is more important to him.
♡ - for dinner you take him to this korean bbq spot and bro is in HEAVENNN.

The reader and her friend are going to one of the boys show.They do the meet and greet and the reader talks to Matt.she is really shy but the more they get to talking the more comfortable they are together.Later on the the boys the boys are on stage and one the challenges is singing.They have to pick someone they met earlier and Matt picks the reader.He remembers her saying even though she is shy she loves singing.In the end the reader ends up winning for Matt’s team and he asks for her number.Lots of fluff!!

if someone told you a couple of months ago that you would be standing in line to meet your favorite youtubers, you’d probably laugh. not only was it difficult to get tickets, but it seemed impossible to you since they were also expensive.
but that all changed when your best friend surprised you with two tickets to one of their shows.
which is why you’re hear. standing in line, minutes away from meet the three boys for the meet and greet portion, hands sweaty, and fidgeting every second. “you good?” you’re friend asked from behind you, clearly noticing how you couldn’t stay still.
“yeah, im just a bit nervous.” you said while sipping on the last of your water. “don’t worry me too.” your friend laughed as she pulled out her phone. “let’s take a selfie before we pass out.” she raised the phone and snapped a pic of you both smiling.
a couple of minutes passed and you were at the front of the line. you had brought your fresh love hoodie hoping you could get signatures from them all. after the last person had went it was now your turn.
you walked up to where the boys were standing, giving them all individual hugs. “hey, i love your guys’ videos.” you said while smiling to which all three of the boys greeted you kindly back.
“thanks, how are you enjoying the events so far?” matt responded as chris and nick had taken your hoodie to sign. “it’s fun, im most excited for the singing portion though.” you said, remembering how the boys listed their events on their group instagram account.
“oh really? you sing?” matt asked as he got passed the hoodie to sign from chris. you nodded and took the hoodie from him once he was done. “yeah, here and there.” matt only smiled before standing off to the side so you guys could take a group photo.
“so you’ll stick around for the events im guessing?” matt asked when the photo was over. you gave him a quick ‘yes’ before you had to leave.
around an hour had passed when the meet and greet ended. the boys had now moved to the stage to begin more activities.
“so first up we will have…a singing competition!” nick announced into the microphone. the crowd of fans cheered before he continued. “so matt, chris, and i will pick on of you guys to do a song with us and you guys will vote on who did better.”
“alright lemme pick.” chris said before running across the stage, looking onto the stage. he pointed to the person of his choice and she was brought on stage. nick had done the same and his partner was on stage with him. “okay matt its just you left.” chris said into the mic.
matt glanced around the crowded and his eyes landed on you. “this girl told me she could sing at the meet and greet so i would like her to come up.” he said while smiling.
you nervously looked around for a second. not sure if your ears were playing tricks on you or not. but eventually you snapped out of it and made your way to the stage.
“okay, lets start this!” nick said as he looked to his partner. the two groups had picked their songs and let out some..interesting vocals. after a couple of minutes it was you and matt’s turn.
“what song should we do?” matt asked as he turned to you, moving the mic so it wouldnt pick up the conversation.
you shrugged and thought for a bit. “maybe one of the girls by the weeknd? it’s a good song for a duo.” matt agreed and went on to tell everyone your suggestion.
the song started and you could feel your palms literally forming pools of sweat. matt went first and everyone found it amusing. near the end of the song it was your turn. matt handed you the mic and you went on to sing the rest of the lyrics.
the crowd cheered once you were done. you could see your best friend screaming from where she was standing. you turned to see the reactions of the people that accompanied you on stage.
“we are so cooked.” chris yelled into the mic while laughing. “this has to be unfair.” nick argued.
“you’re really good.” matt said ignoring the chaos his brothers were causing. you could only smile while thanking him. if he only he knew how much that meant to you coming from him. “okay i think we clearly know who the winner is right?” matt asked the crowd to which they all erupted into cheers again.
afterwards, the guests were asked to go back to their seats but as you made your way down stage, matt stopped you shortly.
“hey.”
“hey.” you responded back, a little confused. “could i maybe get your number?” the brunette asked while fumbling to get his phone out his pocket before pointing it towards you.
“oh, of course!” you said while taking his phone to type in your number. “can i text you?” matt asked when you gave him back his phone.
“i mean you have my number don’t you?” you retorted. matt only laughed and nodded before running back up the stage. leaving you, shocked at what just happened. actually, shocked at what’s been happening throughout this day.
little did you know a few other fans were watching this interaction. videos of you surfaced a lot of platforms, even some of you and matt’s private interaction.
there was no way matt would forget you now.

“so that’s all for today’s video guys.” chris’ voice rang through the car as he passed the camera to his brother in the drivers seat. matt did his usually scream into the camera before completely shutting it off.
“fucking finally, we’ve been getting flooded with comments about you being on another video.” nick said as he leaned back into his seat, opting to scroll on his phone for the rest of the ride back home.
“your fans love me.” you laughed when you witnessed the look of disgust spread on nick’s face, obviously not in agreement to your statement.
“yeah, just wait until the edits start.” he sarcastically retorted. you smiled before glancing at the rear view mirror, for an instant you could see matt staring back at you before his eyes retreated to looking at the road ahead of him.
“y/n when are you gonna give me my hoodie back im fucking freezing.” chris complained while whipping his head back to the backseat. you rolled your eyes before taking the hoodie off and shoving it into his face to which both of his brothers laughed at.
“here, my hoodie is right next to you so you could wear it y/n.” matt fumbled his hand awkwardly to point to the item of clothing set beside you. “oh, thanks matt.” you smiled while putting the hoodie on. this didn’t fly past chris though as he imitated you with a high pitched voice repeated ‘thanks matt’
before you could retort, you guys had already made it back to your house. “are you guys coming in?” you asked as you stepped out of the car with your things. “yeah, actually I think I left something inside your room.” matt replied as he too got out the car. chris and nick opted to stay inside of the vehicle and wait.
as you and matt entered your apartment, you could feel the intensity of the tension between you two. “did you really have to make a scene in the car?” you asked while you kicked off your shoes, leaving the, somewhere in the living room. matt only smiled while following you to your room, “what? you think chris and nick don’t notice?”
you whipped your head around to face the brunette. “notice what exactly?” matt gestured between the both of you, hoping you’d pick up on what he was trying to imply. he stepped closer, the two of you now only inches apart. his hand gently grazed up your arm as he smiled. “cmon, don’t play dumb.”
who knew that a simple touch could have your head nearly spin off your neck. you eyes darted everywhere, everywhere but his eyes. could he hear how loud your heart was thumping? practically about to burst from your chest. you shook yourself out of your daze before replying. “well maybe you should remind me of what ‘this’ is.”

bold enough to make matt stumble on his words for a mere second. as he looked into your eyes, it was as if time had slowed down around you. and the only thing relevant was how matt was slowly getting closer and closer as time went by. before you knew it, his soft, slightly chapped lips were on yours. gently dancing against your glossed ones. his hands held you by the waist as he drew you in as close as your bodies would allow him.
your moment was interrupted by the series of bangs at your door, followed by chris yelling at his brother to hurry up. you and matt both stood there for what felt like an eternity before he let go of his grip on you. “text me later, okay?” he said before making his way to your front door.
“wait, i thought you needed something?” you asked while treading slowly behind hi,, still dazed on what just occurred.
matt only smiled and laughed before stepping out, “oh, i didn’t actually need anything.” was the last thing he said before shutting the door behind him. leaving you confused, happy, and more confused.
but that night, you could only smile to yourself, enjoying this new secret you and matt shared.

you couldn’t help but gaze outside the window for what felt like the 100th time. watching as the droplets of rain came down on your boyfriend’s car.
you two had decided to go out and get some food but little did you know that mother nature would greet you with rain. nonetheless, you two still went as you were already at the food place and it would take too long to order.
matt parked his car in front of the place and insisted that you stayed in the car so you “wouldn’t get sick.” you found it sweet but you already knew that you would be taking care of him once he caught a cold since he was only wearing a hoodie and some sweats.
your gaze shifted onto your boyfriend who was slightly running to the car with the food in his hands. he swung his door open and plopped into his seat, handing you the food which you quickly took.
you couldn’t help but laugh at your boyfriend’s state. completely drenched, and out of breath. matt shot you a quick glare before starting the car.
“seriously, the sun was just out 10 minutes ago.” he sighed before pulling out of the parking lot. “thats nature for ya.” you said while smiling. he couldn’t help but reciprocate the affectionate smile as well.
you both made it back home and by the time you got inside matt was drenched even more and you were drenched now as well.
“shower?” you suggested while kicking off your shoes. “what about the food, it’ll get cold.” matt asked while setting the bag down on the counter.
“we’ll just reheat it, cmon.” you said while pulling him towards your shared room.
“okay.” matt complied as he followed you. he knew he would follow you to the end of the earth if that situation occurred. he would comply with any suggestion you would think of. he enjoyed these little moments with you, so much so that he’s not even mad he’ll probably get sick from the rain.
he’s just happy with you.
