I was buying groceries 'cause life sucks and I heard willow by Taylor Swift playing and boy, does that song describe Lydia and Stiles so perfectly! Like listen to me, I am definitely not reaching or shit faced (maybe a little?) here. I don't even listen to pop music but these lyrics literally fits stydia feels head on.
I'm like the water when your ship rolled in that night Rough on the surface but you cut through like a knife : You cannot tell me that our favourite dorks didn't do this until they got their shit together. Lydia was the guarded cold ship to Stile's tropical sea till the end of season 2 and then Stiles became the the ship moving away from Lydia's ever warming sea of emotions that he opened the gates to.
I never would've known from that look on your face Lost in your current like a priceless wine: Lydia who though Stiles was just another boy who took her for the face value and she did the same. She perceived him as just another loser who was not worth her attention. She ignored him him in the pilot episode but as the season progressed she came to know him and he became one of her best friends. By season three she was a goner. Lydia who acknowledged she did not feel love like what Allison felt for Scott in the earlier seasons was willing to throw her life for him multiple times. Everything that Allison described came a full circle for Lydia .
The more that you say The less I know- Literally Stiles musing on how Lydia feels for him. Stiles could never gauge if his feeling were reciprocated in the same way. Annnd then when Stiles and Malia get together, Lydia did the same wondering if Stiles still felt anything for her. Wherever you stray I follow I'm begging for you to take my hand Wreck my plans: Like c'mon, do I need to even elaborate this? Like really this exactly defines Stydia until season six part B rolled down. Life was a willow and it bent right to your wind Head on the pillow, I could feel you sneaking in As if you were a mythical thing Like you were a trophy or a champion ring And there was one prize I'd cheat to win: Ahem. Lydia's actual progression towards falling in love with the boy who made a plan to get her fall in love with him. The winter formal and Peter biting Lydia which triggered her banshee nature were a domino reaction which changed her life forever and Stiles was one of the most important catalyst in the subsequent chain of reaction. Stiles sneaked into her defenses, he chipped her armor of ice and indifference little by little. Lydia who is an actual mythical creature in a world full of mythical creatures such as fox spirits, werewolves, hunters and druids seems more surprised by Stiles's unfiltered humanity. She who was once a queen bee, the girl who dated the jocks no matter how horribly they treated her realised her actual worth along with what really mattered. Stiles was always infatuated with Lydia, putting her on a pedestal but as he got to know her, she became so much more than just a romantic interest. His adoration turned to love and it was reciprocated even if he had no clue. Both of them never gave up on each other and were willing to do everything to make sure the other was safe no matter what.
Show me the places where the others gave you scars: I think this is what Stiles did that endeared him the most. He was the only one who actually saw Lydia for who she really was and soothed her insecurities that she had gathered over the years. He peeled back the layers and took in the damage others had left on her. He allowed Lydia to be herself and encouraged her to stop hiding her brilliance and heart from others. He loved every imperfection of her. You know that my train could take you home Anywhere else is hollow: I think Stydia really like really became endgame during season three. Both Lydia and Stiles's character went through a brilliant phase of discovering themselves. Lydia became confident enough in her own skin and started putting her real self out there and Stiles started growing up. He was not longer the Robin to Scott's Batman but the main character in his own story. They tried dating others and trying to make it work but imo Stiles always knew and when he rescued Lydia from Eichen house, even she knew that it was useless to resist the pull. I think Stiles's relationship with Malia put things into perspective for the viewers since Lydia never loved Jackson or Aiden and the whole Parish thing went nowhere and was honestly creepy. Stiles and Malia were cute together but while they were good on paper, Stiles's actual feelings showed whenever Lydia was involved. I think he tried filling the gap by letting Malia in especially since they started getting tanged really after the nogitsune debacle but soon realised that while he loved Malia he wasn't in love with her. They were each others tether and boy, her love for him opened a rift to another plane of existence to bring him back home(the train station scene guys!).

I've seen a lot of people saying that Lydia acted pretty bitchy to Stiles on last nights episode, but I can't help but feel their was reasoning behind it. Maybe it was because she can tell he's hiding something from her. When they were about to leave to Eichen House, Lydia noticed Stiles wincing in pain. When she asked, he said something that was an obvious lie and Lydia could tell he was lying, but she let him off the hook. Now, in the latest episode, he almost confessed to Lydia that he knew that Donovan's body would be at the Nemeton. Again, it seems as if Lydia could see straight through his lie. Thus, why she acted annoyed with him. Personally, if one of my friends was acting shady about something particular, I would be pretty pissed off as well. idk I may be wrong, but this is just my opinion.

idk if this has already been mentioned by anyone yet but in the 5x15 when stiles is telling the pack to "get Lydia, get out" he says that in a very peculiar phrasing. like, he could've just as easily said "get Lydia out," but no. he said it as an order, a process, a step-by-step procedure that cannot be accomplished without one key component that is Lydia. "get Lydia, get out" is practically stating "get Lydia, and until all the danger is subsided, we all escape together/a team" as I said, idk if this has already been mentioned but it was just a thought.
just to put it out there: stiles got that key card himself. stiles saw behind the lies Natalie was telling him and made a plan. stiles made a plan to get Lydia out without alerting the pack first. stiles is gonna get Lydia to come back to him. stiles can't do anything without her.
***omg I feel as if I’ve been making so many posts on 5x14 and 5x15 promo and that I should gif my evidence, but I’m not capable of those amazing skills so forgive me for my inadequacy. oh and please feel free to discuss and tell me if I’m a lunatic or anything you just wanna say (unless you’re trying to promote your blog…no thanks) anyway, back to more speculation and nit-picking.*** as many people have mentioned, stiles went from soft and gentle to frustrated and rage-induced when with comatose Lydia in eichen house (before and after Natalie showed up). to sum, he was very angry at the condition Lydia was in at eichen and when Natalie asked/forced him to leave, he looked at her sickeningly and stormed out. but that’s when his determination skills kicked in. that’s where he created his plan to rescue Lydia from the hell she’s being out through. now, any person with eyes and some logic could tell that indeed this was where he made the Rescue Lydia plan, but it’s so much more. It’s the fact that he knew that even if Natalie was telling the truth, there was absolutely no way he’d let Lydia stay in this prison full of monsters. in the episode, it took him a matter of seconds to devise a plan, and some tactic when getting a key card. IN BRIEF, STILES LOVES LYDIA SO MUCH THAT HE CAN TELL IN AN INSTANCE WHEN SHE’S IN DANGER, AND THAT WHAT MAKES THEM EVEN BETTER TOGETHER.
IN THE NEW SNEAK PEEK THING WHERE LYDIA CALLS OUT FOR STILES, DID ANY OF YOU SEE STILES FACE? IT WAS THAT FACE WHERE HE LOOKS AT LYDIA AND HE FEELS HER PAIN AND IT LOOKS LIKE A MIXTURE OF GRIEF, SADNESS, ASHAMED, AND ANGER. HE MADE THAT FACE. BUT EVEN MORE SO, HE MADE THE SAME ENTRANCE AS HE DID AT THE POLICE STATION IN 5x05 (I think? Or 5x04). STILES MADE A DIFFERENCE THIS TIME FROM THE POLICE STATION WHEN HE SAW LYDIA HURT. THIS TIME STILES DECIDED TO ACTUALLY GO TO HER, AND REALLY LET LYDIA KNOW THAT HE IS GOING TO DO EVERYTHING IN HIS POWER TO SAVE HER, RATHER THAN LET SOMEONE ELSE (Theo/Scott/etc.) DO THE WORK FOR HIM. NO, HE WAS GOING TO ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
but fam, I'm so excited too for the following episodes involving hubby stiles saving wifey Lydia and reunions and that shiz. that shiz will be SO SO GOOD. but, I'm super nervous. why, you ask? so far, all of the stydia build ups have been broken by other obstacles. stydia in s2 could have been the start of something beautiful ("you don't care if you get hurt" scene in stiles bedroom/lacrosse game) but Lydia still cared and was worried for Jackson. in 3a, it was sort of a reorganizing season for stydia. Lydia beginning to get back into the groove of dating and stiles trying to move on from Lydia a little bit. this continued into 3b, but there was SO MUCH MORE GREAT STYDIA MOMENTS. the kiss, the "don't doubt yourself now," the list goes on. but, Lydia was with aiden and stiles—like with Jackson—couldn't interfere with her love life. now in season 4, it was a crush that could be seen from Lydia toward stiles. however, Malia/st*lia came into play, so that Lydia couldn't embark on a relationship with stiles because of HIS love life. overall, they've both individually had to go through storms to try and get in a healthy romantic relationship. at this point, I wouldn't be surprised if something happened to either stiles or Lydia that continued to separate them apart even further. don't get me wrong, I want them to be a badass couple but from what's happened thus far, that might not even be a legit possibility. (let me know if I got any of my episode/season info wrong, or anything else, just not hate)
STILES WAS LITERALLY TH E ONLY ONE PLEADING FOR LYDIA TO COME BACK TO LIFE, HE WAS DESPERATELY BEGGING FOR HER TO COME BACK AND TO SHOW HIM HER EYES. HE BROUGHT HER BACK, HE CONNECTED TO HER WITH THE CONNECTION THEYVE ALWAYS HAD. ITS THE EMOTIONAL TETHER, YALL, ITS THE SPECIAL CONNECTION. IM SHAKING.
y'all 5x15 and 5x16 were so good i don't even feel like a week has passed because I'm still too overwhelmed by what happened last week on teen wolf. i just remembered it was Tuesday, and now I'm even more overwhelmed than I originally was. oh boy.
