A really fascinating thing about Prospera and Suletta is that Prospera successfully “hope-ifies” actions that would be otherwise terrifying or morally strenuous for Suletta, like a bizarro polar equivalent of “just applying logic to it”.
Suletta was clearly horrified at the prospect of life being taken in front of her, and doubly so towards the fact that she had to pilot the Aerial and start taking lives herself if she wanted out of this one, but then Prospera hits her with the “Move Forward, Take Two”.
This little morsel sounds like your run-of-the-mill shonen motto, the kind that motivates the main character to push past their limits with conviction and hope. It’s not until much later in the season that we come to realize it’s a bit more twisted than that: It’s a sweet, hopeful veneer to wrap around the simple act of using ‘logic’ to reduce everything to simple results and thus devalue everything else, human life included, in the equation.
It’s not that “Prospera killed people”, it’s that “Prospera could’ve stayed hidden, thus guaranteeing her safety, taking One, but by choosing to come out of hiding and fighting back, not only is she safe now, she also protected Suletta, thereby taking Two”. It’s simple: Just think about it in terms of results. It’s not that people died or that Prospera killed, it’s simply that Prospera could’ve won without fighting, but by fighting, she won harder, and it’s simple as that, taking two, winning harder, taking action, is how you protect your family.
Of course, the twisted thing here isn’t the action taken – this was very much a life or death situation against hostiles – but rather the way Prospera clearly is trying to and succeeding in desensitizing Suletta towards the means, keeping in mind the ends only. It’s delightfully twisted and immensely intriguing, she’s not trying to say that human lives are mere numbers, or that one should be cold-blooded, or any such thing in order to make Suletta operate by “the end justifies the means”, she’s achieving this by being a loving mother that taught the most hopeful of worldviews to her daughter, and uses this as the lynchpin through which to make a very happy and convinced Suletta see things her way, or at the very least, in a way that aligns with what Prospera needs from Suletta.
It’s so horribly twisted, Prospera is a fascinating character.

Witch from mercury s 1 e 14 spoilers!!!
theories ive concocted:
1. Suletta came from the machine because she wanted to go to school!!!!
2. How many red headed girls are in that gundam????
3. Could the mom (i dont remember her name) have put everyone from ep 0 in the Aeriel?? like, Suletta keeps talking to “everyone” and thats more then one!!! no matter how many the mom claims there are!!!!
4. Sophie died in a data storm while in a super high level of gund whatever! Did she, did she, get sucked into a robot?
Brain fizzled goodnight!
If i had a penny for every time someone died in Gundam: Witch From Mercury while singing Happy Birthday, I would have two pennies.
Which is not much but weird that it happened twice.
*girl whos scared out of her mind* i think what matters is love and being kind and thats it
