Okay, fine. If you want to keep sending me messages (offensively stupid messages, by the way) specifically designed to take a crap on a ship that has nothing to do with you, usually is tagged tighter than Soulless Sam’s arse, and is shipped specifically by some of MY followers…that’s okay. Honestly, the joke’s on you because it just makes you look pathetic. If you’re going to insult us, at least do it with the dignity of taking off those STUPID dark glasses and speaking face to face.

I may not ship it, but they do and they don’t need anons such as yourself coming over and specifically seeking out wincest shippers (or supposed wincest shippers) to harass them about the FICTIONAL relationship they are invested in whenever they neither shoved it at you nor demanded that you agree.

I do not, in fact, think that Sam and Dean are screwing like hot, gay, incestuous bunnies…but that is usually what people think when they hear the term ‘Wincest’ so I usually just leave it at that. BUT THIS TIME I’D LIKE TO SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT BY EXPLAINING A LITTLE BIT ABOUT WINCEST!

'Wincest' is a term that has existed ever since 2005 when, mere hours after the Pilot aired, the very first SPN fanfiction was posted. It was, naturally, a Wincest fanfic and the ship has been the OTP of many for the ten years since.

And it is utterly and completely understandable why. Taking out the fact that Sam and Dean are both incredibly hot and extremely sexy and that putting them together causes those terms to be more than squared, as a ship this still makes sense. They’ve been best friends and companions ever since they were children. They fight to get back together, even going so far as to sell their souls so save each other. It’s them against the world, standing shoulder to shoulder against evil. They are the centre of each other’s universe (as well as the lead duo of the show) and they are canonical soulmates…which means that they love each other so much that God himself destined their souls to spend eternity together.

Now tell me that if this were any other duo (male/male, female/female, male/female) that everybody wouldn’t be shipping them and that they wouldn’t already have gotten together on the show. All of the tropes are there. 

So yeah, I get it. I get why people would ship them. So shut up.

I’m not sure if you were saying that “Wincest shippers like their brothers.” or that "Like, they’re brothers." but either way you’re an uneducated amoeba, so I don’t care.

You came barking up the wrong tree if you think that I’m going to slam Wincest shippers. I have no problem with people just doing their thing and not hurting anyone…I have a BIG problem with people who start things and who hurt others. And that includes you, oh one who hides like a coward behind anonymous.

I personally do not see Sam and Dean’s relationship as taking the final step into being sexual. And few Wincest shippers will EVER try to tell ANYONE that THAT aspect of the relationship is canon. THEY know the difference between fanon and canon. And, you know what? Wincest is an umbrella term used to describe both the OTP and the BROTP (if you really must use that term) of Sam and Dean.

I do ship Wincest in the sense that I view the show as being the epic love story of Sam and Dean with all characters being merely supporting pieces of the puzzle. It’s a story about two brothers who will tear the universe apart, just for the chance to live a few days happily together. Who will kill and die and willingly jump into Hell itself just to save each other. Who live by the creed of ‘saving people, hunting things’ but will throw that right into the trash if their other half is in danger. Who are soulmates destined to share their final rest in Heaven together for all of eternity. Whose love for each other goes beyond brotherly and beyond romantic and into something that is soul-deep and achingly sad and beautiful and blinding and terrifying and all-encompassing until sometimes they can scarcely breathe with the intensity of it. 

It is cold days, bundled up in the backseat of a 67 Impala while their father drives down the endless roads of America with classic rock playing over the radio. It is hot days laying on the hood of that same car, sharing a beer and watching the stars. It is days and nights of danger and thrill and sorrow as they hunt the evil that stole their mother away and go back to seedy motels at night to lick their wounds and watch B horror flicks.

It is pats on the shoulder, fingers lingering a bit to feel the warm solidity of the again-living skin and the pulse underneath grounding both of them in place. It is silent conversations held in a single look and instinctively understood. It is private jokes and pet names that, were it anyone else, would be seen as insults. It is two brothers, united by blood and by fire, fighting the good fight together and taking down anyone who tries to tear them apart.

THAT is what SPN is about. It is not about monsters and girls or even hot guys with their shirts off…it is about BROTHERHOOD. More specifically, the intense and co-dependant brotherhood that exists between Sam and Dean Winchester. And, if that kind of non-sexual canonical Wincest makes you uncomfortable, you can go watch something else.

Preferably without further revealing what a rotten, pathetic, brainless, scummy, idiotic little bag of radioactive nosehair you really are.
