Head turn arounds from when Ismaire and I were hellbent on making it happen on Webtoons. These haven’t quite aged well with the current stage of the project, but they were still pretty useful for quick references.
Bidan, MyungJin - Choi Vance (aka Bomong) - Ismaire
Old concept sketches for various creatures that could exist in the Wild Magic universe. 2015 was an interesting time since this was about where I started to explore some anthropomorphic features. The jorogumo concept definitely got more developed than the others, but I’m glad I was able to find these old sketches to share ^_^
Introducing our spider lady, Agome: a jorogumo who danced at a shady haven for freaky, fun times. Nowadays, she’s on hiatus from her nightclub lifestyle. She claims she’s not depressed, but she hasn’t left MyungJin’s apartment since the incident 3 years ago.
Each time our fantasy project underwent a lore overhaul, the story would always stop at “...and then the hero confronts the Manticore.” But that was 10 years ago. This time, we’re sharing our first look at our story’s first lead monster. ((I’ll have to bug Ismaire to find the original sketch, cos it’s wild to see how The Manticore’s final design turned out.))
Meet Masra Otto, a manticore who honestly was minding his own business while eating people (as you’d expect of a monster). If you were to ask Otto what his biggest regret was, it'd be not cutting off his villain’s monologue and just eating the damn witch who resurrected him.

Art has old SM handles tagged on it, but too lazy to change it up. I like it as is anyways because it shows history :)
Several examples of house faeries, each one capable of generous house keeping, or a destructive temper tantrum if insulted. Just always make sure to have milk on hand -- avoid offering skim milk, dairy substitutes are acceptable.
Best part in having an art husband? They do the art that you have trouble organzing 🫱🏻🫲🏼💫

A couple of gremlins from MyungJin’s apartment. The small red one is Augustus (aka Auggie). The bigger one is DeeJon. Auggie’s one of the youngest members of the gremlin troupe, but is always ready to be out scavenging with the older gremlins. DeeJon more or less adopted Auggie to keep them out of trouble.
Some sketches of Bidan. First one was for testing out an effects brush (trying for a foxfire look). The second one I think was from a drawpile session.

Day 2 - Favorite Treat
tfw you have to negotiate with a disaster child from causing more problems.
(oops already one day late, but I just had to finish this because Rory 🤣 on to Day 3!)
Day 3 - Forgiveness
After five years of radio silence, MyungJin finds the courage to seek forgiveness from their boyfriends. Thankfully, both do want MyungJin back, but each SO has different ideas on how to allow their girlfriend back in their lives.
And Bidan's not kidding: he's an expensive boyfriend.
Day 4 - Secret
This character won't appear in Sweet Nightmares for a while, but she's very important.
Both of them.
Day 14 - New Environment
A glimpse into MyungJin and Agome's past when they first crossed paths.
MyungJin had cut their hair rather short at the time, really out of spite and frustration more than style, but they liked it. It made it easier to leave behind a past where everyone compared her to a mother she hardly remembered.
Of course, MyungJin couldn't just stop at a hasty haircut done over a bathroom sink. She had to start making bad decisions: like drinking alone at an exotic lounge. Thank goodness of all the spirits they could've caught attention from that it would be a jorogumo looking for an easy prey...
Day 15 - Let's Party
Giuliano loves any excuse to flex his foxfire... especially when the party crasher is pretty and feisty.
Here's our companion piece to the trio's costume pic :) There were some hiccups getting the full picture uploaded... At least we can show off almost half 😅
