SPOILERS FOR EP. 4 OF TD REBOOT SEASON 2
So I think we can all agree that the whole RipAxel situation is definitely the elephant in the room with the season rn. I just wanted to share my opinion and slight analysis of it so uhhh here we go (transitions r just not working in my brain rn)
The fandom response feels very reminiscent of the whole Nemma Noco situation to me. While I do ship Nichaxel I still think that all of the hate over this “getting in the way” of them is a little ridiculous. The creators aren’t obligated to make Axel queer, even if it is a popular headcanon that I’d like to see too. Not to mention that people saying that Axel dating a guy makes Nichaxel impossible has major biphobic undertones. The same exact thing happened with Nemma becoming canon. A character being attracted to multiple genders instead of just the same gender doesn’t make them any less queer.
Let me make it clear that I am not saying that people can’t be upset about this. Finding out that a character you headcanoned as one sexuality is not that can be very disappointing, especially if you are queer yourself and find connection and comfort through that character because of it, but in the end it’s the creators story, not ours. Being upset over a ship is perfectly fine too. I know from personal experience that these characters and their dynamics can mean a ton to people. As long as you don’t call it queerbaiting or attack RipAxel shippers then you’re good!

I just wanted to talk about my post about who the worst total drama characters are. I’m making this before I get any hate. I just wanna say, if my opinion offends you, I’m so so sorry. This is just my opinion and if you don’t like it, I’m really sorry and I’ll try to do better. I don’t wanna make anyone offended. If you like the characters I listed in that post, I support you all the way and I would understand why you like them. There are plenty other characters I don’t like either. I’m sorry if that makes you mad. Idk if my opinion will offend anyone but if I get hate comments, it’s alright♥️
