This is true... except I actually do have a "bunk bed" with a desk underneath! Mine has a staircase on the side (they also act as cupboards!) instead of a ladder and (unfortunately) no curtains. There's also a bed drawer on the bottom of the staircase, so when I have a friend around we use that one. Said staircase can also be used as a bookshelf, and OH BOY was I a huge bookworm. It was always filled with books and little things I often put.

I still use the room, and I wouldn't trade it for anything else

(By the way did I mention that my desk has flower-and-butterfly-shaped lights that don't glare at your face. Yeah.

My parents surprised me with this room for like... my 6th birthday? I think? I'm kind of spoiled as a kid I'm not a full-on bitch (I think) but uhm. I'm definitely used to getting stuff But they only bought stuff that I asked for that they think would be good for me so surprise dolls and that kind of stuff was just. not in the “items we would buy for you” catalogue. My parents are super nice tho They're a little emotionally neglectful but that's mostly cause I'm the eldest daughter They were learning to be parents so I understand They struck a pretty nice balance tho Atleast I wasn't abused (one of my friends was choked by her mom bc she wouldn't do the dishes (I never had to do chores I'm sorry...)) (and another had an alcoholic father; a grandma who starves them just bc she feels like it; and an absent mom who's mostly away at work) And child abuse is normal in my country so Thank God they never hit me personal
