I feel like if the big bad Marvel and Disney execs weren’t this controlling and queer phobic we definitely would have gotten full blown confessions. I am pretty sure the writers made them canon but very discretely (not at subtle too). Take for example when Charles and Erik accuse each other about the other abandoning them- I’m just saying that is not something I would say to my friends , at least not that accusingly 😂 and then at the end of Dark Phoenix when Erik goes to meet Charles who is now retired and says that “you once offered me a home, now let me offer you mine” I don’t think that is something a person who is just friend would say 😂
