Gonna sum up what I’ve watched of S4 of The 100

Bellamy and Octavia commit awkward sibling hugs

Hehe radiation go brrrr

Luna tries to make a death cult (and fails)

Jasper tries to make a death cult (and succeeds)

Clarke and Jaha become horrible people and rightfully reap the consequences of it

I’m very gay for Octavia (girls with swords, girls with swords, girls with-)

Raven has conversations with not one, but two hallucinations! A new record

Octavia easily becomes my favourite character for both having a conscience and the smarts to use it

Raven is treated horribly even though you GAVE HER A JOB AND GOT MAD WHEN SHE DID IT!

I’m over Jaha and his morally superior bull. You once killed hundreds of innocent people, you should understand what these people are being FORCED through.

Madi: Commanders don’t run away!

Clarke: Well, it’s a good thing you’re not a commander, ya lil shit-

So, I'm rewatching S1 of The 100 and I came across a startling realization;

Bellamy knew Murphy didn't kill Wells

Warnings for murder, S1 plot details, and death.

To fully explain, we need to go back to when Charlotte was given a knife.

Bellamy nearly attacks her, assuming she's a Grounder after the girl slips out of camp. They talk, the scene ending with Bellamy showing a softer side for the first time in the season and giving the girl his knife.

Later, Charlotte uses that same knife to kill Wells.

After Jasper and Octavia find pieces of Wells' body (his fingers), they present it, along with the murder weapon, to Bellamy and Clarke. The four figure out that, because of this evidence, it had to have been one of them that killed Wells.

Clarke tries to tell the others and, after arguing about it with Bellamy, points out the initials on the knife "J.M", or, John Murphy. Which, to her, proves that it had to have been Murphy.

Except...

Bellamy gave that knife - a specific knife - to Charlotte. The scene is pretty significant, I don't think Bellamy would have forgotten giving Murphy's knife away.

Which means that Bellamy most likely knew that Murphy couldn't have used the knife on Wells, because he didn't have it.

...

Yeah, the implications get pretty dark.

Bellamy could have also mentioned this to Jasper, Clarke, and Octavia, all of whom would most likely have kept the secret to protect Charlotte. Which would have prevented Murphy from being attacked and nearly hanged, the mob from turning against Charlotte, along with her subsequent death and Murphy's banishment (The fever might not have reached the camp, which would have also prevented three more deaths).
