Before Esca, Marcus had never loved someone. It’s a little more difficult than it probably should be. Beautifully written, intimate and just GORGEOUS in every way. I could have read it forever <3

Marcus buys a farm, only to discover its deeper within British territory than he expected.  Quite a realistic take on Marcus and Esca’s first year together post-film/book.

Ten Thousand Paces by Destina (6k)

Marcus wants Esca to be truly free, no matter what the cost may be for Marcus.  Heartbreakingly sweet and lovely (happy ending).

Modern AU

Esca is a cat-burglar, and Marcus is just a regular Joe whom he can’t seem to stay away from.  SO GREAT. Stubborn Esca is perfect.

Jumperverse by augustbird (16k)

‘Marcus thought he knew who Esca was. A fusion of The Eagle and Jumper with elements from GI Joe.’ God I love this verse so much. SO MUCH. Hits all my past history/protectiveness buttons. Marcus is a soldier and Esca is someone they’re chasing.

Marcus is the CEO of Calleva Software. He meets Esca in a bar while he’s at a conference in New York. He thinks it’s going to be a one-night stand, but their lives are far more interwined than either one of them could have expected. Keeps the conflict of the film. I remember enjoying this one a lot!

The Lonely End of the Rink by Aquila_star (102k)

Marcus is an ice hockey player and Esca is a figure skater. Angst and pining and high school. Very satisfying read :D

Hollow Point by merrie_oriensis

Follow up to Disassembly (linked at the top). Atmospheric fic in which Marcus and Esca are in the army (modern AU) and slowly dealing with their feelings for each other. Contains some violence (canon leg injury for Marcus) and the aftermath, but the h/c is superb <3
