I kind of feel like “The Idol” got a bad run. The finale showed how engaging it could’ve been if the project didn’t make smut its number one goal. I’m obsessed with getting inside looks at the rich and famous through dramas like “Gossip Girl”, but I wish The Idol explored other aspects of fame as opposed to…The Weekend…
No no no NO! “The Idol” could’ve been directed by a WOMAN until The Weekend got his grubby little man hands on it and disliked its “female perspective”? Gold to lead, I guess :/
Okay, so as time has unfurled it’s come to my attention that “The Idol” was a set up. They shot at The Weekend’s home, that’s why there weren’t many sets. It felt wonky because we were just watching music videos for The Weekend…this is getting to be too much for my wobbly heart to take.
We need more female directors... PERIODT
Male directors are only filming their fetishes & I am honestly getting sick of it..
I am talking about you Sam Levinson. Your aesthetic is cool but you have to dial down sexualizing every damn thing that moves.

Ok so I just started watching the idol (I know i'm late don't kill me I don't have binge) HOLY FUCK!!!!! WHO KNEW THE WEEKEND COULD ACT, AND JENNIE OML SHE'S SO PRETTY AND TROYE I'VE ALWAYS LOVED HIM AND OVBY LILLY SHES STUNNING and kinda has this innocent look about her like when Able was like you gotta know how to fuck I wouldn't have been surprised if her character was a virgin I'm only an episode in (cause theres only 5 and I don't wanna waste them all at once kinda thing) but it's already one of the best shows i've seen this year!!!!!!

Ok so I'm now 4 episodes into the idol (only one more to go!) and shit just got weird but like in a I gotta keep watching kinda way (decided to save the last episode for tomorrow cause I have work and shouldn't stay up too late) MY OPINIONS HAVE CHANGED LIKE AT FIRST TEDROS TURNED ME ON WITH ALL HIS DIRTY TALK but now we've found out that he isn't the best person and now he just creeps me out I cant- I feel so sorry for Troye's character like I love him and he gets done so dirty. And my favourite characters are the managers THERE I SAID IT!!!!!!

Final rant
Ok I've now finished the idol and I have a few things to say (again besides it being a really good show) The one thing that really confused me (which I know could have been fixed if it wasn't cut down from 6 to 5 episodes) is why did Jocelyn let Tedros back into her life again? before the whole 6 weeks later thing she hated him and wanted nothing to do with him like what happened in those 6 weeks!!!!!! (again may have been hashed out if we got the whole 6 episodes like originally planned which is actually why I'm annoyed) and Jennie's character confuses me too like is she a bitch or not? THIS IS WHY WE NEED A SEASON 2 PEOPLE!!!!!! All in all a really good and sexy and fucked show like I couldn't look away it was that good.

So I don’t watch “The Idol” myself (I can barely watch Euphoria without feeling terrible and this show is infinitely worse) but I watch Aaron and Jo on YouTube watch it. And that Epstein line is probably the worst thing I’ve ever heard. Especially because it was said in the context of a JOKE! It’s just a disgusting string of words that are also insanely insensitive and morally wrong. The fact that whoever reviews the episodes before they air LET THAT STAY IN is actually baffling. I don’t ever want to wish any harm on anyone (because you never know what could happen) but I do wish nothing pleasant happens to the person who wrote that line ever again. To anyone who is curious about “The Idol” please don’t spend money on an account for Max to watch it. Use a secondary source like YouTube commentators/reviewers or read the many articles online about the show. Besides that I hope whoever reads this has a good day, and you are loved . Just watched The Idol not sure if this will be my new sunday show now that Succession is over. So far its giving fucked up Ally and Jackson Maine ASIB vibes. It's also set in the Euphoria universe so I guess I'll give it a chance.
