I feel like the fact that Canada’s current deputy prime minister and former foreign minister is a Nazi who is actively collaborating with fascist groups in Ukraine doesn’t get enough attention so anyway

Very perfectly written. Just wanted to add - In India atleast , Even in the families not centered around wealth and unhealthy life choices , arranged marriage is VERY Common . Usual norm is , girl graduates - starts earning- two years into the job gets married because by that time you've saved enough for a wedding and yourself. Parents actively seek out prospected grooms , and their opinion is EQUALLY valued as a woman's own. I have been raised in a family like this , where all pairs got matched to each other through parents and are actually happy. I am raised with absolutely all modern values and I'm perfectly familiar to all westernised culture , but even I see my wedding / marriage having at least 50% parental influence. Nothing wrong in it , I love my parents so I trust their choice as good as mine.

We do grow up in a culture where divorce is very uncommon and tales of divorce are only centered around extreme life choices like abuse / money laundering / to have kids or not. It is not a fair system to women most of the times , but if it works out ; it's the same as getting married on your own.

Religious influence matters as well. In my religion , the one who I marry is supposed to be my soulmate for next SEVEN lives. So yeah ,talk about finding your soulmate in every of those lifes to get married...

When you're from a south asian or south east asian country , especially from a slightly well off family , you'll understand why the idea of women accepting arranged marriages and all the abuse that comes with it is so normalized. Its what we see and grow up with. We don't know any different. I had the privilege of having slightly understanding parents who took my choices into consideration but I know friends who got married off against their will all the damn time. So , I don't really want to hide that part of my origin in my writings.

Very recently someone sent me an ask about both Leah in Perfect imperfections and Jisoo in Amor Vincit Omnia and it just dripped with condescension about how they hated those characters because of how weak they were and how they should have some pride and just walk out and raise their kids by themselves and i thought about it ....

Its never that fucking easy, man.

You grew up in a culture where divorce is common.

We grew up in a culture where divorce is synonymous with failure, pride, ego, going against your filial duties and a bunch of other things that you can't even begin to understand.

I'm not saying that women should be portrayed as weak an accepting of abuse...

I'm saying that there are women who get conditioned to believe that abuse is just a natural consequence of their own shortcomings and they don't even consider walking out of the abusive setting...its just how it is....

And I won't ever apologize for writing characters like that.....

Hello everyone,I am khaled . Stuck here in Gaza in a struggle for survival.. I face new suffering every day.. The difficulties do not stop.. Our energies are exhausted, and we are no longer able to continue.. There are no necessities for life.. I lost my job as a daily teacher, and there is no money to buy my family’s basic needs.. I have a child who needs milk and diapers, and I am facing great difficulty in finding and purchasing them. High prices are another painful aspect of war. I feel deprived when I am unable to provide food for my family. We also face great difficulty in obtaining water. The war has turned our lives upside down. Our dreams and ambitions have been destroyed. I have become very concerned about the life of my son Karam, who has become afraid of the sounds he hears and wakes up terrified from sleep. He also suffers from malnutrition due to the deprivation we are experiencing. My son’s future and fate are bleak, and I can not do anything for him. Help me to save my son and my family from the war. Please help me and donate for me on my GoFundMe link

Hello,,

My name is Ashraf Alanqar, and I am 30 years old. My wife, Widad Issa, and I have a one-and-a-half-year-old son named Bakr. We used to live peacefully in the Al-Shuja’iya neighborhood, in a house we built just a week before the war began. I worked as a farmer and owned a large chicken farm that provided for my family.

Beloved of my heart (Bakr)

Hello,,
Hello,,
Hello,,

Then the war came and destroyed everything. Our home was reduced to ashes, and our chicken farm was obliterated. We lost our home, our livelihood, and even our basic rights. We've been forced to move from place to place in northern Gaza, simply trying to survive.

My House before...

Hello,,

Me.. while trying to recognize what has happened..

Hello,,

The terror we feel as we flee from heavy bombardment is unbearable. The sound of explosions around us, the constant fear as we navigate through the rubble of destroyed homes searching for safety and food, haunts us every day. My son Bakr is constantly scared and suffers from severe malnutrition and skin diseases due to the lack of food, water, and sanitation.

Our beautiful memories.. :(

Hello,,

Hello,,

We urgently need your help. I am asking for your support to fund this campaign to move my family to a safe place, provide us with a proper home, and ensure we have enough food, water, and medical care.

Baker used to play with his dog.

Hello,,

Your donation, no matter how small, can make a significant difference in our lives. We desperately need your support and solidarity during this difficult time. Together, we can restore hope and safety to Ashraf and his family.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for considering my plea. Your support means more than words can express. Together, we can turn a story of loss into a journey of hope and resilience.

UPDATE: Water and Clothing!

Hussam put together 400 packages for the families at the Khan Younis camp he's located in. These packages contain 5 bottles of fresh water, each 5 liters and 9 packages pads, which will help about 400 families!

He also put together 150 packages of clothing containing abaya, underwear, clothes for women praying that covers whole body, blouses, hijabs, and pants.

The past few weeks, I haven't been able to upload as much but Hussam has seriously been hard at work! He purchased a fresh water truck of 4000 liter for the entire camp, which is greatly needed in this extreme heat. They also use water pumps for salty water but they require diesel to operate. Diesel is very scarce and costs about 42 dollars a liter!

Not only this, but Hussam put together an event for the children at the camp! He didn't have the chance to take pictures, but the kids really enjoyed it!

Please keep donating to HelpGazaChildren! This grassroots effort is helping so many people in Gaza when the world has abandoned them!

Donate to our GoFundMe which goes directly to Hussam with NO middleman in between! He also sends money to the North!

On the cusp of war again, I ask for help.😥😔💔🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨

On The Cusp Of War Again, I Ask For Help.
On The Cusp Of War Again, I Ask For Help.
On The Cusp Of War Again, I Ask For Help.
On The Cusp Of War Again, I Ask For Help.
On The Cusp Of War Again, I Ask For Help.
On The Cusp Of War Again, I Ask For Help.

Hundreds of days have passed and we are sweating in humiliation, hunger, fear, oppression and genocide. Childhood no longer has any meaning in Gaza. Women are no longer women, but rather men. Children have grown up for decades. Life no longer has any value to us. It is just a tent, a tarpaulin, a gallon of water or a small piece of bread to satisfy your children’s hunger. Even shoes no longer exist. We made them by hand from a piece of wood and cloth. Everyone has work. There is no time to play, otherwise we would not eat, drink or sleep. Today, I only got a small carton of milk, which was enough food for eight people. On my way, I passed a man selling two bananas that my little girl asked for and I could not buy. She fell asleep and found a tear on her cheek for a banana.Even the shoes are no longer available. We made them by hand from a piece of wood and cloth. We can hardly settle in a tent here until the evacuation order comes, and we are forced to flee again and again. How has this world become? Has humanity, justice and mercy become extinct from our hearts? But we are forced to live here. I remain strong all day long, and at the end of the night I collapse and cry, and my heart cries for my little ones here in Gaza, where there is inhumanity and no life. Please donate to us, give us a little bit of your money to save us, it will make a difference..😥😥😥😔💔🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

We need more female directors... PERIODT

Male directors are only filming their fetishes & I am honestly getting sick of it..

I am talking about you Sam Levinson. Your aesthetic is cool but you have to dial down on sexualizing every damn thing that moves.

We need a female pov on "The Idol".
