9. PULLING YOU IN FOR A KISS WITH A SCARF for Kayden and Juliet please!
holiday writing requests
cordonia’s first snowfall of the year came sooner than anyone had expected it to. juliet woke up one morning in november to find the entire grounds of the home she shared with kayden completely blanketed in white, heavy flakes covering the doors and windows so much so that she could barely see outside.
the blankets fell from over her as she sat up in bed excitedly to peer out at their yard, though a moment later, two strong arms wrapped around her waist from behind to pull her back down onto the mattress. “it is far too early for you to be awake,” kayden murmured, lips pressing against her bare shoulder. “what’s caught your attention?”
“it snowed last night,” juliet answered, finally tearing her eyes from the window to roll in towards kayden’s chest. “i was admiring the view.”
“as was i,” he returned, sliding a pointed hand over the left curve of her side. she grinned, leaning in close to steal a kiss.
“how can i convince you to come enjoy the snow with me?” she asked, though at that moment, leaving the immediate vicinity of their bed seemed criminal.
kayden smiled softly at her, his eyes as warm as the hand he had cupping her cheek. “you know you only ever need ask me for anything, juliet.”
which was how they found themselves bundled up for the cold, their footsteps trudging through the piles of powder mother nature had left behind. her own path carved aimless circles across the lawn; kayden’s ran parallel to hers, straighter and more orderly, in contrast to her chaos.
she turned to draw attention to their lines in the snow and caught her foot on a dense pile of it, tumbling down to the ground with a yelp of surprise. blinking up at the sky, juliet felt herself flush as kayden suddenly leaned over into her field of vision, face full of concern. “are you alright?”
“the only thing wounded is my pride,” she sighed, gratefully accepting kayden’s offered hand to allow him to pull her to her feet. juliet shivered as the chill from the snow began to soak through the back of her gown. “and perhaps my body heat.”
kayden’s grin turned mischievous. he reached out to adjust her coat, then wound his hands into her scarf and tugged her forward sharply, so that she fell forward, suddenly, into his arms.
“i think i can help with that,” he offered, then leaned in to close the minute distance between them with a kiss before she could answer one way or another.
warmth filled her body slowly, trickling down her spine until her fall was the last thing on her mind. when they broke apart, she hardly noticed the wind or snow at all. “you are... quite accomplished at that,” she smiled, twining her fingers in kayden’s scarf, too.
“i should hope so,” he returned, eyes twinkling under the sun that was finally starting to break through the clouds, “with all the practice we’ve had.”
It’s Time for Round Two
Chapter one is already uploaded to Archive of Our Own queued and ready to post. I think. I hope. 12:30 AM PT on Sunday, 6 December 2020. When I’ll be asleep and unable to stop it from posting.
I made some minor adjustments to one part and now it’s about 15 words longer than it was! So. Yes. Sorry? Walk around. Drink water. Have a snack. Etc. etc.
AHHHHHHH *cue excited squeals of a crazy person*

Author’s Note: In my probably foolish attempt to fix how TRM ended, I have to start at the beginning. And this is the beginning (again, for those of you who read the first version of chapters 1 & 2). This is pretty much a detailed prologue. If you want to compare it to how the original story went, it is the prologue – everything before the title page. I legitimately stretched that into 21 pages.

Work in Progress Wednesday
Hello lovely people! I’ve got a little bit of a preview for you today. A taste of chapter 2. Full disclosure for those of you wondering when certain LIs will make their first appearances, they’ll be happening soon – but they’re not here yet.
Maybe in a Sunday Six in the next week or two, depending on how much work my brain lets me get done when it knows there are episodes of The Great Canadian Baking Show that still need to be watched.
Anyway. The sample is below the cut! It’s totally T for Teen, if not E for Everyone, and features Adrasteia and Annalisa. No triggers that I can think of.

Ever wonder what m!Kayden (or one of them, anyway) would look like with the updated body type and his own clothes? I did, too! So I learned some photoshop today and this is what we have. Maybe next time I’ll try to adjust someone else’s clothes to fit this new look.
Sorry for any weirdness. I legitimately had never attempted anything like this before today. 😁
I think I need to add some shading to his shorts… I didn’t put enough in after filling the gap left by the cut out for that awkward hand that’s supposed to go in a pocket.

Commission Time!
As some of you may know, I developed a fun little addiction late last year: purchasing art commissions. I got two in November, both of which were completed in December: TWC Detective Kiara Langford and Nate Sewell and TRM Adrasteia and Kayden.
If you know anything about me, you know I’m going to end up getting a ton of Kayden art. But I promise I will try to show some love to other LIs and other series and other fandoms.
Not today, though. 😁
Last month, I commissioned the lovely @meindraws to create for me yet another MC x Kayden piece. And guys, when I saw the sketch, I grinned like an idiot for hours. (Granted, this happens every time – commissions make me super happy, okay? – but it does not in any way diminish the joy this brought me.)
Just… Kill me now. It’s amazing. It’s beautiful. It’s going on what is now going to be my wall of framed commissions because I’m starting a new role at my job and I’ll be working from home.

I thought about trying to save this for TRM AW, but I don't have the patience. Commissions burn holes in my mind until I can post them, and this is one I can't keep hidden.
Of course, it's of my favorite couple, my TRM MC Adrasteia and her Crown Shield. Why would it be anything else? I'm still obsessed, don't @ me. Or do, if you have Kayden content I need to see.
But can we talk about this? Kayden looks tasty as ever, but holy shit I love how Adrasteia came out. 😍😍😍😍😍 The whole thing is fantastic and I'll never get over it.
I know I need to get more art from @annasassiart, and I highly recommend you do the same. Beautiful art from a fantastic person who is a breeze and joy to work with.
