About the Wei Wuxian poll, I know you put "nuance" but I think "both" should be a separate answer. Most people are generally a mix of nature and nurture. I think the latter usually weighs more heavily on a person, but personality isn't always entirely due to environment, and in Wei Wuxian's case, I think he naturally has a fun-loving personality (which is NOT to mean he's dumb. I think we're shown very early on in the novel that Wei Wuxian is a genius, and part of his lack of focus is simply due to already knowing and surpassing what he's supposed to be learning), but it is greatly exacerbated by the environment he grew up in, leading to his rule-breaking.
I appreciate the feedback and will consider it for future polls if I do something similar. I did intend for it to be for people who lean more to one or the other between nurture/ nature with the word mostly in the answers doing some heavy lifting. One of the first things we learned in my early childhood education is that people are a mix! I didn't intend to say he is one or the other, but that it might skew one way or the other and which way is it skewed if that is the case.
I am working on a story in which he is age regressed, to an age before he was taken off the streets by Jiang Fengmian, while he's at the Cloud Recesses Lectures. So he's without all the formative years of Lotus Pier and I was curious if people thought, as I do, that little kid Wei Ying might be *very* different to teen Wei Wuxian. But I didn't want to bias people, which was why I phrased it the way I did.
But I'm new to making polls and maybe from an information gathering perspective it would be better to separate out the both answer. Thanks for your answer!
TLDR: I agree that people are made up of both nature and nurture, but I was wondering: of the people who think one or the other is a stronger influence, which do they think is stronger?

Oh hmm, my favorite trope to write? That is so hard! But probably the battle couple. I love to write a pair that kick ass together. They were equals. Which leads into my second favorite which is the guard dog/ he can take care of himself, but why should he have to? Ugh... I had to look up a list of tropes because I don't think in tropes, I know I probably write a lot of tropes, but I am trope blind until someone points it out. As for 16, do I prefer co-writing or working by myself? My fanfiction history is a long and checkered past of entertaining myself with stories about the people or worlds I want to rotate in my mind, and also roleplaying (we each write from the perspective of a character) collaborative storytelling. I don't much do the second one anymore, so most of my fic is written alone but with pinging ideas off of a few trusted people. If I had the time and the right partner, I would do more collaborative storytelling roleplay. (Which is still fanfiction, I think?)

My least favorite trope to write... hmmm I am still learning tropes (like seriously, I know they exist and are a think, I just don't know the names of them all) probably miscommunication or the love was there but it didn't matter. I like reading it, but writing it makes me want to bite things (usually the characters who are miscommunicating, get your acts together LOL)
My favorite ship to write oh no... this changes so frequently. Currently enjoying writing MingXian for a healthy relationship, HanXian for a twisted story. I have written a lot of WangXian and got a little bored.

Okay, I have answered some of these already, so I'm gonna answer the ones I haven't answered yet! The fic I am most proud of writing is one I haven't even shared yet. It is a horror story. I don't write horror, so it was a big deal.
The first fic I ever wrote was probably uh... a sailor moon fic when I was 11 or 12. I don't remember much about it, it's been uh 20 some odd years. But I was always daydreaming stories around books I was reading, I think was the first I put down. And I didn't have internet or a computer, so it just lived in a notebook.
First fandom I wrote for was Sailor Moon when I was an awkward preteen.
