To model the children in my fic To Live in Satisfaction after my own children or not, that is the question. Not that there are children for at least a couple of chapters.

Rereading what I have of chapter three of To Live in Satisfaction and thought of the line: Come for the omegaverse smut, stay for the fluffy interactions. I fear NMJ is a soft touch under it all.

I finished a fic that wasn't a one shot! 4 chapters and done! Unless you want the sad ending then just read chapters 1-3 heh. It's a weird feeling. I might do one shot extras set in that universe since I did a time skip, some day.

The two forms of word generation for me

Fugue state/ muse possession: the words flow through me. I come out of it hours later confused and elated. It's time to read what was written, maybe do some light editing, maybe some tweaking. I usually look over the words with pleasant surprise because I enjoyed reading them.

I have an idea: there is a bit of dialogue, a specific scene or image in my mind and I must get it out. Takes work to get through the chapters, sometimes stalls out and I can't write that story anymore until I enter form 1. Much more editing work and tweaking goes on.

I'm learning to use both of these forms to actually finish long fics. Carried by Our Desolation is mostly type #2. Let Me Break Your Ribs and Climb In Next To Your Heart is mostly type #1.

Welcome to another edition of tiny thing that the shenanjiang is hung up on. The sentence "Like hell he will." in my MingXian fic.

Context, someone is saying that Wen Ruohan will take Wei Wuxian's head, and Nie Mingjue is thinking "Like hell he will."

Now. I know that would not be a word used by Nie Mingjue, but I cannot figure out a way to word it that is still as punchy and snappy and visceral. But I really want something more appropriate.

For now, it is still "Like hell he will", but I am looking for alternatives if anyone has any suggestions (looking at chengyu's and other idioms for ideas)

Y'all ever write something and then go... shit. This was not how the story was supposed to go? Try to nudge it into the direction you wanted and make it worse somehow?

Trying to decide if I should share the outfits that inspire my baby fits in To Live in Satisfaction. Cause I love finding clothes for characters to wear. XD

I am writing this. And uh... my wife has offered up her whistling skills, so I will have a soundtrack so to speak for the story. I am very excited about this.

I have been watching X-files to get the feel of certain parts of this story down. The title comes from a line from one of the episodes actually, it's so beautiful.

I am writing a modern fic and WWX uses the term fuck-nozzle and chuckle-fuck and I am so happy about it.

my wip folder groweth... do we need a swing dance competition au where wwx just wants to be lifted and twirled just once in his life? No. Am I going to write one at some point? Yes.

Did I use the SSC as an opportunity to include letters in my fic? Sure did.

I like having a naming system for my chapters. One for Sorrow is easy. All the chapters are a line of the nursery rhyme or a lyric from a song based on the nursery rhyme. It makes it much easier for me to hit send on a chapter. Other fics... the hardest part is when the chapter is written and I'm on ao3 on the submission page and staring down the blank chapter title box.

One of my favorite things in a fic is when the author alludes to an event and you don't get more detail, it is offhanded, in reference to something and you just have to wonder about it. It's wonderful to sit and think, but why were they doing that? Why that thing? (in this case smuggling a goat. Why did they smuggle a goat? Why a goat of all things?) Seriously, it always makes me giggle.

Been thinking about an Ouran High School Host Club x MDZS crossover fic. My wife and I are in disagreement about the characters so here is what I am going to do. Make a poll! That is right. I am going to make a poll for each of the characters and see what wonderful results come of it. So please, bring your voting fingers and your propaganda.
