reblogging this again bc this was the post that started my obsession w havana rose liu as annie and CREDIT SHOULD BE GIVEN WHERE CREDIT IS DUE *staring very directly at people who don’t like it when others steal their ideas but have no problem doing it themselves* fandom should be about sharing and engaging with eachother and giving credit to people for their ideas not about seeing something and acting as though you came up with it and not even bothering to even interact with the original post/idea ESPECIALLY if you know you wouldn’t like someone doing it to you havana rose liu wasn’t my face claim for annie - she was max’s and i will credit max on the posts i make of her and i just personally think that a little hyperlink or even mention would go a long way not stating that the idea is not you own- when you’d get pissed off if someone stole your ideas- feels hmmm insidious is the wrong word but it feels weird sorry for ranting in the tags i just feel a little put off i’m not saying that people own headcannons or whatever because literally anyone could have come up with this or had this idea and simple not posted about it and no one would know i’m saying that it’s okay to credit inspiration when you see it the same way you’re supposed to reference your sources in an academic paper the source you’re citing might not be written by the first person who ever had that idea but it has been important to the creation of your own work and so you cite it in the bibliography out of respect and acknowledgment
