It's WEIRD but this song is the reason I started shipping Lou and Lenni-Kim, they are so adorable together!!

MIRACULOUS | šŸž LOU & LENNI-KIM - THE WALL BETWEEN US šŸž | Official Music Video

Guys. It’s been like 6 months since I saw the Miraculous movie on Netflix. And I’m STILL salty that this song was cut. Back in 2019 this was our only crumb for the plot of the movie. We knew it was coming out after season 5. The song had hints of reverse-love-square or even a collapsed love square. I was HYPED.

Even after discovering that the movie was simply Jeremy Zag’s rewrite of the first 5 seasons and an AU telling of the Agreste Saga, I was still hyped to hear this song.

ā€œStronger Togetherā€ is a great song. I did love it as the romance duet of the movie, but I was still so hyped to hearĀ ā€œThe Wall Between Usā€. I had been listening to it countlessly for 3 years. The movie concludes, and…. it’s nowhere! OK, maybe it’s the closing theme music? Nope. ā€œStronger Togetherā€ again. ā€œThe Wall Between Usā€ is just…. gone. And I don’t even remember hearing news of it being cut. The song that was the FIRST promo for the movie… and… *poof*!

What’s worse is thatĀ ā€œThe Wall Between Usā€ is not only still listed under the movie’s soundtrack on IMDb, but it’s also the ONLY song listed under the movie’s soundtrack!

I think I’ll forever be saddened that we never actually got Marinette and Adrien officially singing this song to each other….

After rewatching the video for Laura Morano's video of the opening theme to "Ladybug" yet again, I really want to ask just one thing. Why did they cast a completely random guy as Adrien? It's like he was asked to pop in for a couple of shots when he ran into the director on set. Yes, the main character of that video is Marinette, but not to that extent. Just substitute Ross Lynch for Adrien and everything will fall into place. His role as Austin Moon is very similar to the blond guy's image (even a little more adequate). It's funny that the next time Lou and Lenni-Kim were as Adrienette. So many missed opportunities...

Oh yeah, a minute of kicking one person, because in "The Wall Between Us" there are literally the lines:

Despite the wall between us

Love is crossing right through

We are together, a rare strength!

I also can't help but note that "Stronger Together" and this song have different dynamics. The first one literally gives hope for Ladynoir and destroys it in the next scene with a fantastic memory of Adrien. The second one, on the contrary, mixes Ladynoir and Adrienette, as if these two already sense who is behind the masks.

And imagine Lou singing that her heart is taken because Lenni-Kim.

Well, and the videos for the songs are completely different. Perhaps even in terms of budget. One location versus several and even plot-based ones. There are many small details in "The Wall": for example, I just now noticed that Lou and Lenni-Kim have similar bracelets on opposite hands.

AND ON THE RADIO... Yeah, this is a belated radio video analysis. I'll also point out Lou and Elliot's video.

Maybe I'm being picky. Maybe it's because the songs are different in tone. But Lou and Lenni-Kim's performance has so much more energy and chemistry. They're smiling at each other, dedicating parts of the song, constantly gesturing and moving, even wearing bracelets on opposite arms again.

They live this song.

Lenni's smile at 2:34 is how a loving person should look at you, seriously. One guy even joked in the comments that it looked like Lenni-Kim wanted to hold her hand a few times [especially at 2:36].

Everything is sparkling between them.

And I really wish the world would turn out differently and we would see a video for "Stronger Together" with them.

And of course, I remember Lou saying she was in love with Lenni during the filming of the Season 2 opening theme song.

I remember the first time I watched the opening music video for the second season of "Ladybug" with Lou and Lenni-Kim. I'm only a year younger than Lou, and I had a friend who was three years older than me, so I had a good understanding of what it might be like to work with a senior colleague. So when I first saw her interview in French where she mentioned something about Lenni-Kim, I was eager to find out what was there. Luckily, I had a friend who knew the language, and I was so happy to finally find out the truth. I know she has a boyfriend now, but we're talking about the past, okay? I will also show here moments from other interviews.

Interviewer: Do you like Ladybug? Lou: I like her! I love this character! I love her! Interviewer: Why do you like her? What attracted you to her? Lou: Because she's both a heroine and an ordinary girl. Interviewer: She's an ordinary girl, do you like this madness that happens around her? Lou: Exactly. Interviewer: She's in love with Cat... Lou: Noir... Interviewer: Yeah, but that's in the show. Do you have a relationship like that in real life? Lou: In real life? We're just friends. *detector lights up red* Lou and Lenni: *laughing* Interviewer: SHE'S LYING! SHE LIED TO US! NOW YOU KNOW THE TRUTH! Lenni: You exposed us... Interviewer: We caught you red-handed!

***

Interviewer: If you answered seven the same way, then you complement each other perfectly. Lou: As friends. Lenni: *smiles nervously* Interviewer: Sure, as friends, but if you watched our previous video, then you know that Lou was constantly lying to us.

***

Lou keeps a photo of herself and Lenni in her phone's gallery.

***

Lou: He literally knocked me down with his manners. Lenni treated me well. Like a gentleman... And I couldn't resist. I just couldn't watch the "Don't stop" video because he was kissing another girl. Okay, now five years later I can officially say that I was in love with Lenni.

***

Lou: I love working with Lenni. We have a special connection. We understand each other very well. In the video, I play a girl who is in love with Lenni. It was funny because in real life we are good friends. We had to play the game of "you follow me and I follow you" and then suddenly something prevents us from being with each other.

***

The scene on the stairs in the video for "Ce mur qui nous sƩpare" was reshot several times. Lou and Lenni had to touch each other's hands at the same time, which didn't always work the first time. And when the result was achieved, someone would always start laughing. Lou and Lenni's favorite moment in the "Ce mur qui nous sƩpare" video is the rooftop scene. They were free to walk around and sing. Lou describes the scene as "a game of cat and mouse."

***

— Do you talk to Lenni-Kim now? Lou: Okay, I don’t talk to him now. As far as I know, he’s at a certain point in his life right now. I think he really needed to take a break, stop talking to all his former colleagues. And I can understand that. The main thing is that he’s doing what he really wants now. In any case, I’d be happy to see him again. Yeah.

I understand that the past is the past, but I really miss them together. I want to hope that they are at least communicating now.

As I mentioned in previous posts, English isn't my native language, even though I've been studying it for eleven years now. So I have the opportunity to observe the reaction of a fairly large fandom (so large that Jeremy Zag recorded a video message for us that was shown at previews of the film).

And I remember there was a lot of mockery in the comments section of the Season 2 opening clip with Lou and Lenni-Kim. Yes, I admit that the models of Ladybug and Cat Noir were pretty funny, but the clip was openly criticized for them. Also, many people didn't like Lou and Lenni's singing. I don't know, maybe I have no musical ear, but I like the way they sang even now. Their chemistry is still amazing.

Just think that in six years we have become so accustomed to their duet, four years we waited for the opportunity to hear ā€œThe Wall Between Usā€ in the film... And it simply wasn’t there. Moreover, there's evidence that they recorded almost (if not all) of the film's soundtrack. But even after the song was removed from the soundtrack, its Spotify plays only grew, and the video continued to gain views. Impressive, isn't it?

And then Elliott came along. I heard that he had once tried to get into Eurovision but failed the selection. Elliott sings well, it's true, his voice suits the Cat. But there's not the same chemistry between him and Lou that there was between her and Lenni... Okay, I admit I have a bit of a soft spot for Lenni because he competed in an international competition held in my country. In an interview before the competition, he spoke about how proud he was to be invited to my country as the youngest participant. Yes, he didn't win, but I found his amazing song for myself. And in the finale, he sang a song in my native language with everyone else. Sorry, this is the happiness of a fan whose country's existence is known. But my native speaker friends admitted that he had almost no accent, and my language is considered quite difficult to pronounce. I miss that time. I don't name my country directly because foreigners have mixed feelings about it now.

I'm watching the London Special. Since I'm used to watching "Ladybug" dubbed into my native language, and now I'm watching it in French with subtitles, the word "coccinelle" associating with the song "The Wall Between Us" and the moment when Lenni-Kim supposedly calls Lou that while performing the song on the radio. Please allow me to leave my little headcanon here that he jokingly called her that on set.

Ma petite coccinelle...

Sorry, I got a little distracted.
