What are neopronouns?
Neopronouns are pronouns aside from he, she, they, or it. They’re pronouns people use, usually when they don’t vibe with using “standard” pronouns.
The root “neo” means new, so they are essentially new pronouns. However, despite that, they’ve been around for centuries! According to multiple sources, neopronouns have been around since at least the 1300s!
Here are a few examples of neopronouns!
Sample sentence: They/them
They are my friend. They left their jacket at my house today. I’m going to drive to their house later to give it back to them.
Xe/xem
