My Gloomy Eyes are now available for Mermaid Sims! I got a little creative and changed a lot of the original colors, just cause there were a lot of orange and blue swatches and what's the fun in that? I NEED MORE COLOR
The same issue that occurred with the Vampire Eyes is happening here. The second swatch (from the first row), will not change texture. It'll look right in the Sims4Studio, but when I open up the game, it shows the EA texture instead of mine. I found multiple threads about this issue (x) (x) (x), but none have a solution 😫 At least I'm not alone on this. The only way to "fix" this is to add an extra swatch with the correct texture and leave the original as it is (as it can't be changed).
The Contacts can be found in the Face Paint category. The Defaults and Non-Defaults only show up for your mermaid form, while the contacts are available for any occult/regular Sim (meaning, they only work for teens and older, as kids, toddlers and infants don't have a mermaid form).

I started using these eyes when I picked up ts2 last summer and immediately converted them to ts4 because I loved the look of them so much. Originally, I intended to release them for Simblreen, but didn’t manage to make a preview in time :/ Here they are now, though! Better late than never and all that.
∴ credit: the eye textures are by @uranium-z and the sclera is an edit/combination of pixelore’s and crybabies’ scleras
∴ 57 swatches from the solar redux eyes (does not include the alien or blind swatches)
∴ available as facepaint or occult eye scar (requires get famous or vampires and the facepaint version)
∴ perfectly aligns with pixelore’s sclera overlay
