HOLY SHIT THE LAST WORD IS TERRIFYING VAL IS GONNA BE MY NEW FAVORITE CHARACTER
That’s what the Last Word tells me, and who are you to deny it?
One month since the finale of The Silt Verses ... is it too soon to enter another world shaped by the divine?
In I Need A Miracle, miracles happen every day. Prayers to a benevolent, omniscient, always-listening higher power have granted people long life, comfort, time to express themselves, freedom from fear.
But is a world of miracles a perfect world?
Episode 1, A dream come true, premieres 29 August.
Can any world survive a benevolent god?

In this original audio drama podcast, each episode is a prayer, some prayers are answered, and a prayer granted can upend the world.
For fans of
Each episode of I Need A Miracle is a short monologue. A new character every episode. Never the same character twice. Always addressing a plea to a listening deity – which never makes a sound.
Play god
You, the listener, stand in for a silently listening god. Hear brazen demands for divine intervention and vulnerable, secret pleas for deliverance. Whose requests would you grant and why? Does anyone deserve a miracle?
Play detective
Which pleas are granted? How does the listening being decide? What are the Upheavals that regularly wrack this world? What threatens to rise from the Depths? And can any being with ultimate power truly be benevolent?
Play the heartstrings
I Need A Miracle is all about the many kinds of wanting, and the many ways of asking for help. How would you make your case to an omnipotent being who grants some miracles but not others, based on ineffable criteria?
Coming August 2024

T-shirt that says i just finished the silt verses and all i got wass…ough…. i-i got.. all i got was.. eughhhh *sniff*… i-i *wails*
Still thinking about The Silt Verses (as you do). It's the podcast of all time. It's completely unique, there's nothing else like it. It's the best piece of media I ever came across. Its Horror but the horror was not the important thing. It's about people perpetrating the horror, unable to break free from the system. It's about people turning their back on the system, breaking the cycle and still dying. There was love and kindness and it didn't save them but it mattered. There's so much queer representation in the most beautiful way. It will hit you in the feelings with a sledgehammer in the purest form of carthasis. The Chekovs gun is a crab nuke. There's a bitter old aroace woman who's allowed to be bitter and old and aroace. There's a guy called Chuck Harm. Joe Biden sex coma. It's about late-stage capitalism. It's about family and community and belonging. It's about gifts offered freely. I could write so many essays on how none of it mattered and everything mattered. It's completely rotted my brain, if you couldn't tell by now. The audio quality is fantastic, the voice acting made me cry so often. It's the podcast of all time.
Thank you for the kind review, apple podcasts user, it's actually shocking that we have yet to be embraced by the mainstream when our word-of-mouth buzz is as good as this
I saw this Tiktok and I knew I had to, GO CRAB BOY GO
(Original Tiktok under cut)
I LOVE how you made Carpenter aromantic, I was wondering what was the process behind making that decision and how you incorporated it into the script?
Thank you very much!
Well, the issue of how social normativity (and in this case specifically amatonormativity) can put us under intense pressure to perform in certain ways - to conform into a shape that's pleasing and expected to those around us and which allows us to navigate more easily through the morass of other people but which may end up consuming us - is a big underlying theme across both of our shows, both in its own right and as an example of our wider preoccupation about how our hopeless yearning to make sense of ourselves can end up destroying us.
With that in mind, Carpenter's confident and settled aromanticism felt very appropriate as an expression of her existential self-reliance and her ability, through self-knowledge and just a little obstinacy, to avoid getting trapped into a shape that someone else has chosen for her. She goes one better than the Promised Bride in that sense (Although that said, I really did want to ensure she still felt relatable and real as an aro individual, and not just as - like she says - an allegory.)
my god. Hayward and Carpenter roadtrip. this is everything i ever wanted and needed in my life. my heart is full, my soul is singing. im fucking obsessed with them, these fucking people oh my god absolutely insane. i would give literally anything to be a fly on the wall of that car
Wouldnt it just be truly fucking awful if it was only people out here, and nothing else?
anyways this is like my favourite carpenter monologue of all time it destroys me. so yk i had to draw it. ALSO you can BET i used @catwyk 's incredible parish designs and @valtsv 's leech halo for faulkner. because i gotta steal their smartypants ideas
pov your friend just got ritual sacrificed and you're trying to have a moment but your inner monologue gets interrutped by an unhinged twink trying to add grand theft auto to his list of crimes
just started listening to the silt verses and i like carpenter a normal amount
ok but you know what back in glottage we don’t have to put up with this shit. day after day the vast majority of people go to work. they get through the day intact. reality stays within the usual permitted confines. but out here in the countryside towns flood and dirt patches eat you. and people turn into fucking shrimp.
bear witness. to my ascension - and my victory

Do you accept this offering from the depths?"

I truly couldn't decide between the versions, so you get them all. I would like to thank Jon Ware, Muna Hussen and B. Narr for giving me insomnia
Let Me Speak First Of Revelations And Next Of Dark Deceit Then I'll Speak Of Champions Of Lovers, Gods, And Beasts My Song Is Long And Twisted It Worms, It Winds, It Wends It Carries Few, It Drowns Many And Those I Love, It Rends My Song Has Taken Hold Of Me It Grips My Tongue, My Throat My Voice Cries Truths I Never Knew And To Fight Is Just To Choke So Let Me Dwell Eternal And In Ruined Flesh Ascend For My Song Has No Beginning... And The Current Flows On Without End If I Could Trace With Bloodless Fingers If My Hands Could Shape The Flow I'd Bear This Song To The Precipice And Rend Us Both To Dust Below We'd Both Go Plunging Downwards One Final Fall From Grace I'd Howl, I'd Scream In Victory And We'd Be Gone Without A Trace But We'll Never Be Rid Of Each Other My Song, My Sorrow and I So I'll Bear It Trembling Onwards To Drift On, To Dream, To Die And Where My Final Footsteps Fall Something Dreadful Shall Arise Its Gaze Shall Fall O'er Trembling Plains Its Wrath Shall Scald The Sun And Where Its Howling Forebears Walked Some Day There Shall Be None The Wise Man Knows The Taste Of Rot All Lovers Part As Dust And Even The Kings In Their Bowers Of Steel Shall Wither In Ruin And Rust This Rotten World Shall Wheeze Its Last This Hateful Hymn Shall Cease But As My Last Breath Splits My Throat I'll Wheeze Through Splintered Teeth One Last Song Of Revelations Of Prophets' Dark Deceptions Of Love, And Gods' Defeat
