Note: This can be interpreted as either normal sized Yuu or mini!Yuu in whichever context given that humans are very weird and I find it hard to imagine someone hasn't done any of these even as a teenager/adult. 😂

Cay-Cay: "Weird Human Facts 101: Strange Human Behaviors. Humans apparently have an instinct to run up stairs on all fours like some monster species do. Are they picking up behaviors from us...or is it a natural predator instinct humans possess?"

Video cuts to show Yuu in Ramshackle climbing up the stairs after Grim on all fours, the chimera moving faster with a yelp of panic. In the background Ace is muttering through muffled laughter, "What the heck, dude?

Cay-Cay: "Possible...but then why does Yuu exhibit prey species behavior?"

Video cuts to a new clip at Heartslabyul, where Yuu is slinking around the kitchen in the dark. They're sticking close to the walls and scanning the area before sneaking a cookie out of the jar, immediately slinking away as quickly and quietly as possible. There is more muffled laughter in the background from more than one person this time.

Cay-Cay: "Humans also seem to hate silence and will make random noises or mimic sounds they hear to fill the void."

The feed cuts to show Yuu sitting in the library trying to read, but looking frustrated while Ace, Deuce, and Grim are studying quietly for a change. Without warning, Yuu makes a quiet "Brrrh!" trilling sound that causes the other three to perk up immediately. They don't notice and continue making a few more trills before they settle down, looking content now.

Cay-Cay: "And then there are times humans will sing or mimic songs and sounds to the point that they annoy themselves!"

Yuu is shown standing in the kitchen making something, starting to hum a tune they'd been singing for the past week before they freeze. "Gah! I can't get this song out of my head!" they said with a growl.

Cay-Cay: "So what does this all mean? Do all humans do this, or is it just Yuu? Tune in next time as Cay-Cay gets the scoop!"

Journey begins

You awaken by a thump. Your googling eyes widen only to meet the wooden walls. You sigh as the thumping could’ve been some rock outside of the carriage. You gaze out the window board at the sight of the trees. “Are you awake you highness” a voice spoke once again surprising you. You whipped your head around to see a well dressed man with a raven mask and a top mask. His cape was adorned by feathers. He smiled kindly “Forgive my intrusion. I understand you must be exhausted. It is a long ways away from the kingdom of the royal swords and Ramshackle but I must ask if you can do me a favor. I swear you will be rewarded generously” the crow asked “you ask for a favor yet i know not of your name” you replied still stunned from his quiet entrance “Ah right where are my manors. You may call me Crowley, your highness. I’m king of Night raven. ” He introduce “well.. Crowely. What is this favor you wish for me to do” You asked “simply. The creatures are out of control.They don’t listen to reason as of late.” Crowely stated “the kingdoms grow more impatient and i don’t have any answers on why everything is in chaos.” he sighs “what do you want me to do about it” you asked “simple go check it out and solve the problem if needed then report back to me from here” he explained as he gives me a mirror “I don’t have magic” I explained “oh i see. This makes things harder now. Well just report using someone else's magic. I’m counting on you your highness,help save night raven” Crowly smiles before teleporting off again. Once he was gone the mirror lit up and showed directions to the castle within the queendom of roses, the region you're in at the moment. Lucky for that bird your first stop is in the capital. You place the mirror around your neck using a piece of string you happened to have. The rest of the ride was calm and you managed to go to your destination safely. The kingdom is bustling with people as busy as most major cities. You place your hoodie up and stroll through the town listening to the latest gossip. Nothing of importance to you. That is until you saw a crowd “A fire!? That’s horrible” a women spoke “who ever tarnish those lands my already have lost there heads… if the queen hasn't gotten to them” a man adds. Drawn to the chatter you merge yourself though the crowd to see the new board were at the bottom were papers of current events and additional rules being added by the parliament here. The headline read “red fires within red roses.” you took a page and skimmed through the first chapters

Three days ago, fires rag'd the did rise f'rest, coequal spreading to the queen’s precious did rise hedges. ”this violation of ruleth 300 is unexceptable!!!” the lady states in h'r addresseth inrage on what hast hath happened to h'r precious landeth the queen hath sent f'rth a reward f'r anyone who is't couldst catcheth these criminals so they’ll beest putteth to justice by the queen h'rself

“With how high people speak of the queen, why has no one offered to find these people” you wondered “the Rose woods of Heartslabyul recently has a surge of monsters as of late” a voice spoke. You look to see a young man with orange hair and a diamond on his cheek underneath his eye “the fires triggered some after effects and enraged the guardian on those lands. Anyone who enters to investigate never returned” He adds “You must be new sense it’s common knowledge here” he smiled “oh umm ya. I just came off of a ride. I’m (y/n)” you introduced “Cater diamond, that’s my company's newspaper you’re holding” Cater replied “oh did you make this yourself” You asked “no just provide the info. What’s got an outsider so interested in our case” Cater asked “well I just felt like I needed to provide aid. Like the stories, if everyone is scared of these lands and someone has to solve the problem.Why not be the one who solves the problem ya’ know” you replied which made the young reporter think “I guess so. I hope you’re a person of your word” He winks “well I didn’t mean to trouble you, I shall be on my way. Any lead is a good one these days” Cater stated before leaving. ‘The forest has to be the rout of the problem so might as well check it out there first’ you thought. Using this revelation you made your way out of the crowd and towards the woods. On the way you spot something in the alleyway.there in the alley was a cat creature. Weak and hungry. Feeling pitiful for the creature, you stopped by the local market and bought a fish to bring for the cat. When you made it back to the location,with the cat still laying there, you presented the fish to him. The cat sprung up and snatched the fish from your grasp “thank you human” he spoke which shocked you “a talking cat” you exclaimed “a cat!? DO i LOOk like a cat to you” He huffed. Upon closer inspection this ‘cat’ has flames for ears and a tail with scales all over with a blue flame on the tip. Other then that, he looks like a average cat “kinda..” you mumbled “what is your name anyways” you asked “the greatest and most gifted mage grim, now who are you? I never seen a thing like you before. Are you a elf” grim asked as he walked around you (“y/n) of the (l/n) family. I’m (prince/princess/random royalty status) of ramshackle” you replied which made his eyes widen “You!? Well if you feel extra civerish can i accompany you” grim asked sweetly “and why would you want to tang along with me” you asked “i mean you and I would be great partners so, what do you say”

The Heart of roses(pt 1)

You inhale and exhale “fine” you replied. The little chimera jumps for joy as he spins “Yes yes yes yes. You won’t regret this” he states “I hope not, now we need to go the the rose forest” you stated. Grim jumps and lands on your shoulder “guide the way henchmen adventure awaits” he commands making you roll your eyes. You walked down the road towards the city's gates which connect to the rose woods. Once you reached the gates there was another crowd. Loud gasp, chattering and even some screaming echoed through the mass. Once again you squeeze through only to be met with blood. Glore littered the gates. The bodies of guards decapitated with vines all over them, each vine grew around 1-4 roses with a whole bud growing from were the head would be. “Oh i thing I’m gonna be sick” grim gagged. you retreated from the crowd and tried to find a around the gate. While creeping by the walls, you managed to find a hole which goes through the walls so you both entered though. “Now we can continue to find the root of the problem.”  you stated which startled grim “Well I didn’t think you’d actually go in here. I thought we’re heading to the castle first” Grim exclaimed “we’re going to the castle after the deed is done. We need to find the issue here.” you explained as you continued walking “but but whatever that thing was that killed those guards is still here. From a monster to a magicless human you’re chances are 0 to none” Grim informed “so? I was task by the king of nightraven to help with this issue. Besides I didn’t even come prepared for a fight” you replied sheepishly “...oh we’re so doomed” grim deadpanned. The woods were covered in rose bushes of all shapes and colors. There were even roses growing on the trees. Despite the colorful scenery… there’s a lingering scent of char in the air. The smell grows deeper as you walk. “Augh! What is that smell it burns my nose” grim gagged “well at least it means those perpetrators haven’t gone far” you replied before you could walk one more step, a large cauldron dropped in front of you blocking your path “NOT A STEP CLOSER HUMAN” a voice boomed.

From above. The creature flew down from the sky,landing on the cauldron. His appearance was mostly human aside from the wings and his horse-like tail “Begone or suffer his wrath” he states. You assume he meant the guardian of this place “easy deuce. This one means no harm” a voice spoke from behind. When you turned you spotted a tall centaur with green fur which matched his hair. He wore glasses and had a bag filled with herbs and spices “Cater told me you want to help. So i came as fast as i could” the centaur said as he rubbed the back of his head “but trey… what if” Deuce mumbled “that’s where you and ace come in.. where’s ace” trey asked “with Riddle. Oh he wanted me to tell you to hurry up” deuce replied sheepishly “alright… anyway what is your name so i don’t just call you human” trey asked “y/n and this is…” “grim the most powerful monster alive” Grim puffed as he stood proud on my shoulder. “Charming” he laughed “this way” deuce leads as we follow. The char smell and ash grew as the once clear forest became murky and suffocating. I used my cloak as a mask as we venture deeper in the smog as grim coughs “jez who burnt there bread!? It smells horrible in here” grim asked “simple. People tried to kill the guardian here and end up burning the heart of roses” Trey explains as he wore his own cloth mask. “I’ve heard but I didn’t think it’ll be this bad. How can i find the perpetrators” you asked “as much as riddle would love that, we have to fix the garden first or everyone will die from the smog.” Trey explains “hints why we need to talk to Riddle. He know more than we do” Deuce adds. The smog began to clear much to you and grim’s relief yet deuce and trey looked more tense. Trey trotted in front of us as we entered cautiously. Then suddenly, something sharp grazed past your face, making a hole through your hood “You dare show up after my warnings” a voice spoke infront “I SHALL HAVE YOUR HEADS” it then boomed “Riddle wait!” trey exclaimed as he moved directly in front of me. “Move Trey, these trespassers must be taught a lesson. I shall make examples out of them” Riddle yelled which made grim jump “they’re here to help. Just hear them out” Trey begged. you peeked from behind trey to see a humanoid entity. Parts of his skin had green tents,covered in black char, his hair was red with black shoots all over. His cloths looked to be made from rose petals, as much as you can tell for he looked burn and weak “How would they help? Their kind was the whole reason for this mess. The queen has yet to taken the heads of those perpetrators. No peace or help from any human unless I have those criminal’s heads” riddle hissed as he sits back on his rose throne. Besides the throne was another humanoid male. He looks similar to Deuce,wings on his back, yet he has a lion’s tail, wild hair style and he has more red-terracotta colors in contrast to deuce’s blue colors. The male tilted his head and met my gaze “ya, I don’t think they can help even if they tried. Despite the smoke i smell no magic from them” the male shrugged “But It may be the only way to help restore the forest.” deuce stated, speaking up a little “hey henchmen” grim whispered as they argued “there’s footprints going away from the center” grim adds as he points to the tracks to the side of us “we should go. I think this argument is a losing battle” grim advised and you nod

Ayooooo! Concept art for the Monster!AU, featuring Vil! :D Or at least a base concept for him to get used to his design first. He was...not easy to draw and his hair was a pain. >.>;

He is also the reason I remember why I don't like drawing full body male characters as often, let alone hands. =w= But hey, I'm going to keep improving, just you wait! ÒwÓ

And now on with the little details about him in this AU.

Compared to his normal form in Twisted Wonderland, this version of Vil is actually taller by about...let's say six or seven inches for now, given his unguligrade legs adding the extra height. He's quite tall for sure, though will he remain the tallest? We shall see~ >w>

Vil is a unicorn of the dark variation, which means his fur is actually black with a purple tint that's more obvious when the light hits it. I figured that given he was always seen as unnaturally beautiful by human standards, that something of a rare coloration in coat color would stand out much more for him (plus, I really love how mysterious the color makes black unicorns look).

This also serves as a contrast to Neige, who is also a unicorn with a white coat color (akin to his uniform, which is ridiculously bright and shiny on the eyes >.<) but--by comparison--looks very little like him. If I had to compare Vil and Neige in terms of how their unicorn appearances look, it would be the difference between something seen in an epic fantasy story/movie versus a tiny and cute little pony with a rounded horn and a poofy tail that looks more like cotton candy than actual hair. 😂

Another factor that separates Vil from most unicorn monsters in this AU is that he--like his father--have crystal horns and hooves whereas others are more keratin and bone based.

I'll likely do a bit more of an overview on each species in this AU as well as how the magic system works in another post! Until then, I hope you guys enjoy! Feel free to ask questions if you have any about the dorms or specific characters and I'll answer them asap! ÒwÓ

I'm already working on more of an introduction for Yuu and mini!Yuu on how their arrival went and a tiny bit of worldbuilding, then I'll add more~ ÙwÚ
