I always thought drawing natsume yuujinchou characters in the mp100 art style could be fun and decided an AU prompt for natsume week would be a good opportunity lol. despite being two very different series, there’s a lot of overlapping elements such as spirits/supernatural abilities/exorcism/etc. so it works kind of well. psychic powers and the existence of spirits seem a bit more accepted in the mp100 universe so natsume and the other spirit-seeing characters might not have had quite as rough childhoods as they did in natsuyuu. other than that I feel like they’d still have similar lives and roles in the mp100 universe. natsume and reiko are/were very powerful espers and natsume has to try and release the spirits she bound in the book of friends while she was alive. tanuma has a bad inferiority complex about his abilities, while taki enjoys dabbling in psychic techniques she learned with her grandfather. natori is a famous movie star and psychic because the mp100 universe apparently needs two celebrity psychics voiced by akira ishida. hiiragi and sasago and urihime follow him around and assist with exorcisms the same way ekubo does with reigen and mob, and his special technique is psychically manipulating paper dolls. matoba is the leader of the local psychic organization who has the ability to manifest spirits to assist him in jobs. he also is skilled in archery and has a special umbrella that he uses to defend himself from an evil spirit that’s after his right eye.
