I would really appreciate some prayers. I've been having so much money problems recently and I'm just not sure what to do. Every month I end up either in the negative or close to the negative. And it doesn't help that each month I have ended up having to make some big spendings because something essential has broken which needed replaced or whatever else. I can't currently get any help to cover my rent, because I'm still couchsurfing. The landlord of the place that I'm couchsurfing at isn't happy with my finances, and may refuse to add me to the tenancy, which would mean I would have to leave here. I don't even know why the landlord has an issue, because the rent has been getting paid on time without any difficulties. If I were to get added to the tenancy, I could finally ask for extra benefits to help me with the rent which would give me more money for living. But right now rent takes away from most of my benefits. I've been trying to cut spending where I can, but it's so stressful and miserable and overwhelming. I hate that I'm still in the same position I was in, where I'm just couchsurfing and trying to catch a break. I'm not currently in a position where I can save any money at all. And there's still the possibility that I'll be in a worse place housing wise if I'm not allowed to stay here. The fact that this has dragged out for so many months, and I'm still in the position of losing so much has me constantly depressed and suicidal. I just don't know what to do. Everywhere I have reached out to has been unable to assist me

Can you guys please pray for my family?

My dad was diagnosed today with terminal bone cancer and given a few months to live. My mom is struggling with an active drug addiction and other carnal sins. My brother as well, he is a year away from finishing nursing school but it’s hard to say where he will live when my dad passes away since the two help each other pay their bills. And pray for me as well, an unworthy sinner.

Can you pray for me and my family and ask Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker to intercede for us. We're in a very difficult situation and are struggling with homelessness and debt. Things have been improving and the Lord has provided for us throughout this but it's still very troubling.

A Prayer In Time of Need

The dark clouds of trouble gather above me, O Lord, and the grief of torments terrifies me. Although I find myself in a state of suffering I do not complain against You, O Good One, for You are my support and the unshaken rock upon which I place my hope. You know, O God, the cause of my wretchedness and sorrows, and You continue to look after me. Even in my suffering I know that You love me, and it is this very knowledge that strengthens me. Thus, hoping in Your very love and goodness, I shall not allow these assaults to overcome me; instead, I will fight with courage, and, confident in Your help, I shall be victorious. It is You Who guide the world and the fate of mortals; thus direct the ship of my life which is assailed by the waves of temptation, so that it may reach the calm harbor. Alone, I fight in vain against the tempests of life, for without You I can do nothing. I therefore flee to You, O Good One, and I pray: Come to my aid and save me by Your might, just as You once saved Peter who came to You upon the water. Stretch out Your hand to me as you did to him, O Lord of mercy and do not delay.

Through the prayers of your Most Pure Mother, of our holy fathers, of Saint Nicholas and Saint Xenia, and all your saints, Lord Jesus Christ our God, have mercy on us and save us.

God will give you everything you need. Do not lose faith, but persevere in your trials and amidst them give thanks to God for everything good and everything difficult. Through the hardships, you are being purified like gold in the fire, so sing praises like the Three Youths who were thrown into the Babylonian furnace.

St. Xenia the Fool-for-Christ, even though she lived on the streets in her great poverty, became the helper and refuge of families experiencing financial difficulties.

The Miraculous Icon of the Theotokos the Inexhaustible Cup.

This icon is the helper for those struggling with addiction and alcoholism for it is truly only Christ who gives satiety to the soul.

The "Inexhaustible Cup" Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos was revealed in Russia in 1878. A retired soldier from Tula had spent his pension on alcohol, ruining his health. Though he was no longer able to walk, he continued to drink.

One night a holy Elder appeared to him in a dream and told him to go to the Serpukhov monastery of the Mother of God. "Have a Molieben served before her Icon ‘The Inexhaustible Chalice.’" Since he had no money and could not walk, the man paid no attention to the dream. Then the Elder appeared a second and third time, speaking to him with increasing severity.

Crawling on all fours, the man reached the next village and stayed in the home of an old woman. She rubbed his legs, and he began to feel better. The next day, he resumed his journey with two canes, then with one, until he arrived at the monastery.

He described his dreams to the monks, but none of them had ever heard of "The Inexhaustible Cup" Icon. Finally, one of them remembered an icon on which a chalice was depicted. On the back of the icon was an inscription, "The Inexhaustible Chaice." After the Molieben, the peasant returned home restored to health, and cured of his alcoholism.

News of the miracle spread, and many alcoholics and their families came to pray before the Icon. Many of them came back to thank the Mother of God for answering their prayers. Every Sunday in the Serpukhov-Vyotsk monastery a Molieben with an Akathist is served before the Icon for those who are addicted to alcohol.
