Question because I’ve seen so many unique OCs (both MC and non-MC):
If Vere read your OC’s (MC or not) soul, what would he see (if it’s different from in-game MC)?
Vague touchstarved theory. Vere's collar was put on him by someone who betrayed him—probably someone directly affiliated with the senobium. Kuras has old ties to the senobium, & if it were up to him Vere would've been put down a long time ago. Maybe there was someone who advocated for chaining him instead of killing him, in opposition of Kuras & in (merciful) betrayal of Vere?

I’ve been thinking a lot about what’s the deal with Vere’s collar.
The Alchemist MC can tell his collar is enchanted, so we know powerful magic is involved; possibly powerful magic even Leander can’t liberate Vere from if he wanted to(not like Vere wants his help anyway).
Also, it’s clear that Vere usually has a handler; he has a handler by his side when we first meet him. But he’s by himself just fine at the bar at the end of the demo, and it seems like he’s by himself in his tour guide post. So that could mean either two things to me:
1. Vere frequently escapes from his handler when he desires to cause havoc around Eridia but the enchanted collar limits the amount of damage he can enact
2. Vere doesn’t need to have an handler with him at all times because the enchanted collar restricts him to Eridia, which prevents him from escaping the city
If it’s point two, it could explain why he hasn’t visited Ais at the Seaspring; he couldn’t even if he wanted to, because the wastelands are out of bounds for him since the collar ties him permanently to Eridia.
I sort of agree with Vere being the kind that wants others to pay for him, buy him gifts, ect. BUT I also think if he gets attached to you that he'll buy you anything and everything with that Senobium money.
He catches you eying some pretty jewelry? Drags you inside the store immediately. Finds some clothes he'd like to see you in? You will find a pretty package sitting in your room very soon.
I just think he'd like to give you little treats from time to time (not too many though, he can't spoil you)
kuras' and vere's beef has to span centuries. it has to be filled with so much regret and betrayal and previous vulnerability and broken that the lines between hate and love become blurred. it has to be so juicy that vere says "don't trust him, I did that once." during kuras' route i am so fucking serious rn

It's a unique type of frustration when you agree that a character is deeply flawed but other people keep missing what's actually wrong with them and assigning them new flaws that they don't even have it's like free my man he did none of that. He did a bunch of other shit tho.
