she pokes her head in with his permission to enter the room, greeting with a smile as she fully walks in. she snorts in response to his words, a soft laugh leaving him as she shakes her head. " i would never. " being that they're both immortal, and with her attachment to alucard, he's stuck with her. " i healed a lot of injuries but no one turned and no one died, so i think that means things went well in the field. "

HEARING HER RETURN CAUSED THE COUNT TO AWAKENED. Alucard could sense her from moments away, making her way over to tell about the recent mission. Alucard allows her entrance & despite his surly appearance, manages to look at Agatha tenderly.

❝ I thought you left me to rot. ❞

" i was on a mission, but it didn't last as long as anticipated, so i came back when i was allowed to do so. " it's probably clear enough by now to alucard that, by her detached tone, she's elsewhere at the moment. somewhere in her mind of course, worrying over things that doesn't really need worrying about. agatha's gaze flickers elsewhere as she stands there by his coffin, wringing her hands. she could come to him about her worries because she knows alucard won't bullshit her. he'll be blunt and straight to the point. he might even laugh, but still, he always gave her an honest answer. " alucard, " the faerie looks at him now, only just making out the silhouette of his resting form in the darkness.

" am i useful here? am i useful to the organization? "

THE FACT SHE SOUGHT HIM OUT THIS LATE WAS NOT NEW. It was his domain, his forbidden heaven. Her nearing steps deeper into the chambers of his coffin, he would peek through one eye once she was close enough. [ She grows by the day, he stays the same. Does she notice that? ] Both eyes came to a close once his voice breaks the silence. ❝ What brings you here tonight? I believed you were on a mission from what Master Integra mentioned. ❞

“The sun isn’t rising anytime soon, you know.”

she hears alucard's voice behind her, glancing up and smiling back at him. " i know, but i was having some trouble sleeping, so i thought maybe i'd come out early to catch the sunrise. " agatha hated sitting still doing nothing for too long, though, so she brought along with her a flashlight and a book. her smile becomes apologetic now. " i hope my restlessness didn't disturb you. "

she was wary of the strangers that were welcomed into the manor, rightfully so with the things she's been through. she assumes sir hellsing trusts them enough, but... agatha does not. she didn't like the way they spoke to her, belittling her as she obviously didn't want to be around them. of course, now once her dad is here, she clings to his long red coat as his hand gently grasps her shoulder. agatha looks up at him, then to the men when he finishes speaking, pausing a moment before sticking her tongue out at them.

it was a bit difficult, trying to get ahold of alucard when he's away on missions given he tends to make technology, like cellphones, go haywire. if agatha needed something passed along to him, it usually had to be through seras or sir integra. she was usually vague, even with innocuous things and usually asked them to just let him know there was something she needed to talk to or ask him about. agatha just... didn't expect him to approach her in concern, like there was something horribly wrong.

agatha blinks up at him in confusion and surprise. " ...dad, i just need clothes for the next mission. overreacting a little, are we? "

" oh, we're going there, are we? " an amused smile forms on the faerie as she crosses her arms over her chest. to be fair, as needy a child as she had been, she can see why alucard's first assumption would be that something was wrong. there wasn't, though. at least, not this time. agatha looks away, grinding the toe of her shoe into the floor as she mumbles out, " i would've asked sir integra directly, but she intimidates me. "

her gaze drifts back upward and she relaxes, standing still. " what did you even think could've been wrong? "

HIS FORM HAD MANIFESTED RATHER QUICKLY . seras had made it seem as though it was urgent , curse that foolish girl & her well intent . his protectiveness over the small creature made it that alucard tended to visit her as often as he could in between their missions . [ still , he is rather unamused that his nature of something so familiar lingered on his tongue . ] nonetheless , he turns his head to the side once he is fully formed in her room , looking around the room just in case anything was out of line .

❝ hmph . tough talk for someone that use to sob whenever i left for my missions as a child . ❞

the faerie's breath hitches when he says her name so sternly and she quickly looks up at him. lips purse and she straightens up a bit. yeah... maybe sticking her tongue out at those men wasn't the best idea. still, they're grown men, right? surely they could handle a child sticking their tongue out at them. maybe that was just agatha's opinion, though. she swallows and gives a quick nod. " y-yes, sir. " she thinks, and her expression reflects that as her head tilts. " why, though? i-i haven't hurt them. "

THE MEN SEEMED TO HAVE UNDERSTOOD . their defiant scowls shown & attempted to be masked after the act of the young one . his gaze does not waver from the group , but he still has a habit of making sure she understood herself . ❝ agatha . ❞ the vampire spoke in a stern voice , red hues sliding down to her . ❝ you cannot hide behind me forever ; choose your battles wisely . those pathetic dogs would have torn you apart if they did not know who you were associated with . ❞

when he ruffles her hair, then a smile forms on the little faerie's lips. she watches as he emerges from the wall, fully formed and more human in appearance again. " m-murdered? " she stammers out, smile faltering. admittedly, she doesn't yet understand the full scope of his abilities and that it'd take a lot to kill him, or some special method to do so. his level of power is beyond agatha. there's too much to try and comprehend! still, she nods in response to his sage advice. " i understand, dad. i-i'll try to be strong and stand my ground next time. " though, could she? or would she keep running to alucard? probably. he's the one who's taken the most care of her, like a father. he's the one she feels the safest around. why wouldn't she run to him when she's afraid or being threatened?

HER CURISOITY WAS ONLY BOUND TO BLOOM . she was getting older , wiser now with the schooling the hellsing organization had to offer . she was slowly excelling , but remained childlike . perhaps that was why the hand on her head ruffled her hair gently . [ a silent message that she was safe & protected . ] stepping out from the wall fully , presence fully formed instead of shadows & eyes , the vampire smiles at her softly . ❝ humans can be cruel to things they do not know , or who they do not know . you would be surprised with how often i've been murdered ~ . ❞ he laughed lightly at his own humor , finding such occurrence enjoyable than something shocking . ❝ if they see a slimmer of weakness , they will strike . know this . ❞

the moment she felt the knife slice her cheek, she knew alucard would scold her for it. but why? sure, it was deep, sure it would scar, but it wasn't life-threatening. agatha looks away when he cups her cheek, feeling guilt settle in the pit of her stomach. " why? i handled it just fine. " she doesn't need alucard to be there all the time in case things go wrong. agatha's shoulders sink and she looks back up at him. " i don't... think it's fair that you want to be my safety net so much when you always tell me there might come a day when you won't be here anymore. "

KNOWING GAZE LOOKED AT THE INJURY THE YOUNG FIGHTER HAD . why did it irk him ? it was not uncommon for battle to bruise & beat the mind , body , & soul . yet , look at agatha in such a degree . . . it irked him . his gloved hand moves , cupping the cheek of his daughter where a certain cut remained , shaking his head as he knew it would scar . ❝ you should have told me to go with you . foolish , little girl . ❞

agatha feels her heart skip a beat in her chest. forgive him? in her time here in the hellsing manor, she thinks she's only heard him say that perhaps a handful of times. it isn't something the faerie would conceive teasing him for or to hold over alucard's head. no, she would never when she knows he genuinely means it. " i forgive you, dad. " agatha tells him now, a gentle smile forming on her lips. " i understand your reasoning, at least. i was so tiny and helpless when you first met me that night. " she giggles. though that night had certainly been a tragedy, she still remembers being scooped up into his arms and carried out of the house. that moment made her a part of their family. agatha has since grown and is no longer that small, frightened child. she certainly isn't helpless, either. agatha takes one of his hands, holding it in her own and giving it a light squeeze. " if you offer to help me on a mission, i'll accept it, and if i feel like i'll need help, i'll ask, okay? i promise i will. "

IT WAS ODD WHEN HE WAS CAUGHT OFF BY WORDS . very few managed to do so & it remained strictly to the hellsing bloodline . yet , there stands agatha , he eyes speaking the truth of her mouth all the while he can only cling to the image of her as a youth . [ he held agatha similarly as he did with integra , both dear to him . ] his gloved hand moves at her words , finally finding the words to speak . ❝ . . . forgive me . ❞ such words were hardly touched on his lips , but it felt right to do so for her sake . his eyes soften , but there was still a look of concern on his face . ❝ i rarely see you bloodied . it reminds me of when you were just a little girl . perhaps that is why i say such things . forgive me . ❞
